The room that was previously just rather unkempt now looked like a hurricane had run through it. Van was rather dazed, but besides some ruffled clothing and hair, he wasn't injured. The Old Patriarch looked at Van, a bewildered expression on his face.
This ordinary looking youth actually caused his personally crafted talent stone to explode! The Old Patriarch had reverted back to his original appearance by now. The Old Patriarch started to study Van once more, this time a lot more detailed. He noticed a strange bloodline that had condensed in his Dantian.
"Interesting."
The Old Patriarch started to stroke his beard as contemplated the workings of Van's body. Van felt a cold feeling run down his spine as he saw the old man's gaze. But when he considered the power level of this old man, he continued to let the old man stare, begrudgingly.
About half an hour of awkward silence later, the Old Man sat down and asked Van a question.
"Do you know who I am?"
Van sat down at the Old Man's gesture and contemplated the question. This old man was definitely at least an elder in the Flowing River Sect. Van remembers the Outer Sect Elder's reaction.
"Are you one of the previous patriarchs?"
Van calmly asked the Old Patriarch. The Old Man's brows raised in surprise. The youth had guessed his ident.i.ty from the little amount of information available. The Old Man nodded in affirmation. Van was rather surprised. Although it was an educated guess, there was still a large chance that he would be wrong.
The Old Man sighed. Since Van broke the stone, he would have to fulfill his promise. The Old Patriarch threw a spatial ring with a rather eye-catching gemstone at Van. Van deftly caught the ring and inserted his Qi into it. It was a high-quality spatial ring that could store items in the hundreds of thousands. Van found about 10,000 high-quality materials in the spatial ring.
Van started to tear up with joy. He had never had so much wealth in his life. Van bowed to the Patriarch and thanked him.
"Junior thanks the Protector!"
The Old Man's expression softened. This youth was rather respectful to his elders.
"Here take this."
Van grabbed the item that was tossed. It looked like a fruit encased in gold.
"This is a spiritual fruit, it will help in your enlightenment in Martial Skills and Techniques. Even your cultivation will benefit from its consumption, use it wisely."
Van smiled brightly. His favorability towards the old man had increased by a lot. Van bowed once again in thanks and waited for the Old Man to give him his command medallion and robes.
"When you reach the Stages of Inner Discovery, I will then give you a Core Disciple command medallion and robes. For now, take these."
The Old Man threw over a robe for Inner Sect Disciples and an Inner Sect Disciple command medallion.
"Don't disappoint me."
Van's expression turned to one of confidence and he once again bowed before heading off. After heading out of the Old Patriarch's dwelling, the formation transported him before the registration office. A few of the Disciples managing the area jumped in fright. But when they saw the Inner Sect Disciple robes, they got back to their business.
Van walked up to one of the Registration Disciples.
"I need to be registered into the Sect."
One of the elder's brows raised in confusion. He hadn't heard of any new disciples that would be accepted directly as an Inner Sect Disciple besides Fairy Cloud Feather.
Van pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to the Registrations Disciple. The paper was rolled up in robes when the Old Patriarch had thrown them to Van. With a mental transmission from the Patriarch, Van understood what it was supposed to be used for instantly.
The Registrations Disciple was flabbergasted he had never seen the signature at the bottom before.
"I'm sorry but I don't recognize the signature on this decree."
Van was slightly surprised. They didn't recognize the handwriting of the Old Patriarch? Then again, he is retired. One of the Elders pa.s.sing by stopped and investigated the problem.
"What's the problem here? Feng Hao, what's the piece of paper in your hand?"
Feng Hao explained the situation and handed it over to the Elder. Feng Hao expressed his suspicions on the authenticity of the signature. This elder had an arrogant and domineering air about him. He was at the initial stages of Inner Discovery and could be considered a powerhouse in the Lower Reaches.
The Elder read through the doc.u.ment before paling at the signature at the bottom. His expression turned to one of surprise then respect towards Van. This kid had the favor of the strongest living retired patriarch.
"Register him and give him the best picks for an immortal's cave."
Feng Hao was surprised he had been at this post for a year and recognized practically all the signatures of the Elders and the current Patriarch. But he didn't dare to question the Registrations Elder.
Feng Hao recorded the information onto a jade slip and inserted it into the records.
"Welcome Brother Van to the Flowing River Sect."
Feng Hao respectfully bowed to Van. Van picked out the best cave available to new inner sect disciples and headed out to stake out his new territory.
Feng Hao watched Van's retreating figure. Who was this Inner Sect Disciple that earned the favor of someone who even shocked the Head Registrations Elder?
Van didn't realize it, but he had just met a rather ill.u.s.trious figure in the Flowing River Sect.
As Van walked along, he saw many cultivators indulging in all types of activities. Some male disciples were flirting with the pretty female disciples while others were dueling with Martial Techniques.
He also spotted a few immortals' caves that definitely had some cultivation maniacs in them.
On the way to his immortal's cave, he was respectfully greeted by most of the Outer Sect Disciples pa.s.sing by. Others ignored him and hid their feelings of intense envy. They didn't recognize this particular Inner Sect Disciple, but anyone with the position definitely deserved their spot.
After about 15 minutes of walking, he finally arrived. He found it to be rather s.p.a.cious and was surprisingly a lot better than the room he had on the spirit shuttle. There was a bedroom for the rare occasions when the disciples wanted a good rest or to indulge with other activities with the other s.e.x.
Besides the bedroom, there was a large area for meditation with a rather large stream in the corner. Van noticed the sparkling effect from the Qi infused in the water.
It looked like the Qi in the four rivers outside, but this water was diluted to make it safe for the Disciples to utilize for their daily cultivation. Even absorbing one cup of the stuff from the main rivers would cause the Outer Dantian at the 6th Stage of Dantian Formation to explode from too much Qi.
Van was about to sit down and start cultivating when he heard a large boom come from outside. He stepped out to find an arrogant looking youth at the 5th Stage of Dantian Formation and 3 others at the 4th Stage beside a hole in the previously unmarked ground.
