Show Love System Chapter 7

Lou Yuan went into the meeting room with his subordinates and discussed the progress of today's clean-up task and the casualties of various teams. 

s.h.i.+ Lingxi squatted down in a place not far away from the room but still wouldn't be considered inappropriate. He ate his biscuits, drank the water produced by Chen Yun, a water ability, and waited patiently. But he wasn't the kind of person who wasted time. He took out a notebook from his backpack and recorded the data he observed today. The emergence of intelligent zombies and mutant beasts is not unexpected and the fights between humans weren't less either. 

An hour later, Lou Yuan's summary meeting was over and the crowd dispersed. s.h.i.+ Lingxi, who was focused on thinking had his guard lowered and didn't notice Lou yuan who had come up to him. Lou Yuan, who saw s.h.i.+ Lingxi holding his chin and staring at the sky wondered if s.h.i.+ Lingxi was waiting for him. 

After two seconds, the striking pink heart which popped up in s.h.i.+ Lingxi's vision pulled his mind back. His eyes became focused, his spirit returned and he stood up at once "You.. you… You're done..?"

"Aren't you tired?" Lou Yuan asked gently. Before the meeting, he had told s.h.i.+ Lingxi to go up and rest.

s.h.i.+ Lingxi hesitated, then nodded. Thinking of his task, he replied, "The body is tired, but the mind is alright."

s.h.i.+ Lingxi was being totally honest. His mental strength exceeded his physical strength. Most of the time, when he would be physically tired, his brain would be clear and active. 

"Are you tired?" s.h.i.+ Lingxi immediately asked Lou yuan., trying to reach 100 sentences to complete his daily task. 

Lou Yuan responded emulating s.h.i.+ Lingxi's reply "The body is not tired, but the mind is exhausted."

Even if Lou Yuan possessed S-level mental strength, it would take him at least 2 or 3 days to recover the power he had lost to kill a near S-level mutant beast. During these years he had been tired several times, almost no one had bothered to ask him such a question. 

s.h.i.+ Lingxi nodded in understanding. He also felt a little guilty for disturbing Lou Yuan with his conversations. He was guilty but also tangled. He only needed some more points to complete his task, but in his heart, he was ready to give it up and accept the punishment.

Lou Yuan kept his gaze on s.h.i.+ Lingxi who had gone silent all of a sudden. After some time he understood why s.h.i.+ Lingxi no longer spoke. So he said, "It's not tiring to talk to you."

It was also quite relaxing as s.h.i.+ Lingxi's expressions were especially entertaining. 

"Really?" s.h.i.+ Lingxi's eyes widened in surprise. He pushed his luck and said, "How about I talk to you often, then?"

After this question, Lou Yuan switched back to his 'silence is golden' mode. However, his silence was different from that of before. s.h.i.+ Lingxi could feel that Lou yuan was in a good mood. 

While continuing walking to the room, s.h.i.+ Lingxi was hesitant as he was unable to come up with topics to chat with Lou Yuan so that he could stay with him for another half an hour. 

When he looked at Lou Yuan, it seemed like he had two small torches lit in his eyes, which seemed to burn down people with enthusiasm. His complexion was very calm but his whole body exuded the feeling that he was very reluctant to part with Lou yuan. 

Unfortunately, s.h.i.+ Lingxi wasn't that talented in the way of words. He could only watch Lou Yuan walk away step by step as his three daily tasks failed. He had bustled around for nothing. 

When s.h.i.+ Lingxi was about to go back to his room with drooping shoulders, Lou Yuan suddenly turned around. s.h.i.+ Lingxi's face glowed as he stared at Lou Yuan with burning eyes.

"Goodnight…" Lou Yuan whispered. Even though saying something like this did not fit his usual style, seeing s.h.i.+ Lingxi's eyes he said it naturally. 

"Hmm, Goodnight!" Within s.h.i.+ Lingxi's field of vision, the 98% completion jumped to 99% but it didn't reach 100%. No matter how much the percent, not completed meant not completed. s.h.i.+ Lingxi's disappointment grew. 

"Also you can come to my room in half an hour. The first room on the third floor." After speaking those words, Lou Yuan turned around and strode up the stairs. s.h.i.+ Lingxi who woke up from his stupour shouted, "OK!"

If Lou Yuan was still in front of him, s.h.i.+ Lingxi would sincerely thank the other but Lou Yuan couldn't hear him anymore. s.h.i.+ Lingxi couldn't help but mutter "He's really a very good man!"

Finally, the dialogue task had been completed and s.h.i.+ Lingxi felt some sense of accomplishment. In his eyes, he found these tasks more difficult, compared to the subjects he had studied.  

“Daily Tak 2 (completed): Conversation with Lou Yuan has acc.u.mulated to 100 sentences. Task Rating: E (simple). Completion: 100/100 (100 percent)

Daily Task Completion: ⅓ (33.3%). Daily task time remaining: 10:55:37“

s.h.i.+ Lingxi glanced at the time and walked back to his room briskly. For several minutes he couldn't calm down and continued to mull over his problems. Then he went to wash his face and take a bath. It took up just 10 minutes and there were still 17 minutes left before his appointment with Lou yuan. 

He suddenly thought about something, found the blank paper he had brought back yesterday, and began to draw. Maybe this could be useful for Lou Yuan, he believed. 

The picture was well-drawn. s.h.i.+ Lingxi saw that fifteen minutes had pa.s.sed. He grabbed his map and backpack. To pa.s.s the time he walked down the stairs then walked back up. At last, half an hour had pa.s.sed. He held his breath and raised his hand to knock on the door. But before he could do so, the door opened from inside. 

"Come in." Lou Yuan had just taken a bath, so he was wearing casual sportswear instead of a military uniform. The whole person gave off the illusion that he was easier to approach than before. 

s.h.i.+ Lingxi nodded. The conversation task was completed so he was much more relaxed. As long as he spent 25 minutes in Lou Yuan's room the third daily task would be completed.  As for the first one, s.h.i.+ Lingxi had no hope for it from the beginning. 

s.h.i.+ Lingxi's eyes swept past the room. He saw a bed, a sofa, an office desk and a large map with many marking on it. s.h.i.+ Lingxi didn't stare at it for too long because he knew he was different from Lou Yuan subordinates, and maybe even the soldiers in the army. He hadn't gained Lou yuan's trust yet.

Lou Yuan motioned s.h.i.+ Lingxi to sit down and went out. After a few seconds, he came in with two food boxes. He had asked s.h.i.+ Lingxi to come over to his room so that he could give him more food. 

"Eat." Lou Yuan pushed a box towards s.h.i.+ Lingxi. If there was only one, Lou Yuan estimated that s.h.i.+ Lingxi would want to share it with him. s.h.i.+ Lingxi's habits are strange but Lou Yuan couldn't say it was wrong.

In each base city, resources are concentrated on the ability users. Only in the army, you will find people paying attention to fairness, sharing both joys and sorrows. Lou Yuan didn't think that the army's practice was wrong, neither did he feel that s.h.i.+ Lingxi was being inappropriate. Showing grat.i.tude was one of the most difficult qualities to come by during apocalypse. 

"Well…" s.h.i.+ Lingxi replied in a soft voice. His eyes were downcast. He was not the kind of person who was easily moved, but from yesterday to today he was moved by Lou Yuan several times. He thought that when he got back to his room, he would write all of this down so that he would never forget.

When the food box was opened, there was a heavy smell of mutant rabbit meat. s.h.i.+ Lingxi's mouth watered and his eyes and brain were completely occupied by the meat. 

He looked up at Lou Yuan and found that the other had already begun eating. s.h.i.+ Lingxi wasn't polite and used chopsticks to eat. The food box was huge, his face was almost buried in it. When he raised his head, the tip of his nose and forehead were covered with sweat. He was about to continue eating when a large piece of the foreleg fell into his tiffin. 

"Eat." Lou Yuan's words were still simple and direct. He looked at s.h.i.+ Lingxi's ruddy face and felt it was pleasing to the eye. His eyes and words were much gentler than before. 

"Hmm." s.h.i.+ Lingxi whispered and gave Lou Yuan a wide grin before continuing to eat. 

After eating, s.h.i.+ Lingxi stood up and took the initiative to clean the mess. He found a duster and ended up cleaning the entire room, including the sofa and the chairs. He also mopped the floor. Time pa.s.sed by and s.h.i.+ Lingxi was able to complete his daily task. s.h.i.+ Lingxi was quite happy, he smiled and praised his wit internally.

Lou Yuan was sitting on the bed with his eyes on the map. However, his mental power couldn't help but pay attention to s.h.i.+ Lingxi's expressions. In his eyes, s.h.i.+ Lingxi's virtuous and smiling appearance had another interpretation that s.h.i.+ Lingxi would have never expected. 

Totally satisfied, s.h.i.+ Lingxi put the duster and mop back into the bathroom. He grabbed his backpack and was about to say goodbye to Lou Yuan when he finally remembered something. He immediately opened his backpack and took out two simple maps drawn by him.

"These dots I marked show the position of mutant plants. If you're interested you can send someone to take a look. Also, some people in my former team may know about it, so you should take the necessary precautions." 

Not only are this low-level mutant plants less aggressive, but they have many medicinal properties. They are more valuable than mutant animals and are collected by various forces. 

It could be said that s.h.i.+ Lingxi's maps have great value. With these maps, s.h.i.+ Lingxi could undoubtedly live well in Beicheng base. 

Lou Yuan did not take it, but continued to stare at s.h.i.+ Lingxi and asked, "Why?"

s.h.i.+ Lingxi was stunned by Lou Yuan's oppressive eyes. His foxtail fluttered gently while he answered, "You are good to me, I will naturally be good to you."

s.h.i.+ Lingxi had no control over how others acted, so if someone is good to him he will remember it and show his grat.i.tude. This was something s.h.i.+ Lingxi's grandfather had taught him. He would remember the good things, naturally, he would also remember the bad things. s.h.i.+ Lingxi is a very vengeful person. 

"But I'm weak now, so I can't do much for you…I hope you don't dislike it." s.h.i.+ Lingxi insisted and reached out his hand. He hoped that Lou Yuan would accept his grat.i.tude. 

Lou yuan lowered his eyes and then raised his hand to take the map. For a split second, it seemed like he wanted to rub s.h.i.+ Lingxi's head. But Lou Yuan felt this move was inappropriate so his hand paused in midair. 

s.h.i.+ Lingxi looked up, his breathing was tense. He couldn't refrain himself and jumped up. His soft head brushed Lou yuan's palm.

 Lou Yuan smiled slightly and didn't hold back. He rubbed s.h.i.+ Lingxi's head gently and whispered, "I have no dislike."
