I wanted to inform aunt Emi at least that we are moving to a different place. She visits frequently and I'd feel bad if she were to stay here alone. But Black asked me to keep it a secret. So I planned to send my aunt a mail, telling her that I and Black were going on a trip for a month. I didn't want her to unnecessary worry about me by saying I won't be coming back for more than a few months. That letter was to reach her the next evening.
In the evening, Black went to my school. He didn't want my year to be wasted and so he visited my school and arranged for me to give my final exam anytime I'd like. I asked him how he did that and he replied that just asked 'Old Don' to do that stuff. Black really treated Mr Don like a personal Butler. I guess Mr Don and Black must be good friends because Mr Don never rejects anything.
By night, we both were ready to move to our new place. My heart was filled with expectations with that new place. Though it might get inconvenient there for a while, I was sure we could manage our livelihood there together. I had a ton of experience living this far away, almost in the forest. I'd be happy to be where my Black was.
We just had to drive away to the new place the next day. Our new life was a few hours away. But at that moment, little did I know that it'd turn so messed up. When I look back, I only see that one regretful day in my life. Actually, it was night. A night full of regrets and pain.
I remember that I was holding his head in my arms, pulling him to my chest and he was holding my waist before I fell asleep. Cuddling to sleep had become our daily routine but there was not a single moment of dullness. Every night either he would tell me stories about his world or I would tell him different bedtime stories. Due to his lack of common knowledge, he treated even simple stories like they were precious treasures. I remember how excited he had become when I told him the story of Icarus.
Black claimed to have stayed on Earth during his early teen years in search of me. But aside from cooking and music, he knew very little about here. He said that he lived away from civilization and would rarely come in contact with humans. He didn't even know how to write. It was like showing the world to a small bird that was never out of its nest.
I woke up in the middle of the night. My eyes were still closed but I realized that my Black was not beside me. I moved my hand around in search for him but I couldn't find him. My hands searched everywhere but my Black wasn't there on the bed. I almost freaked out due to his absence but then I thought that Black must have gone to the washroom and he would be back to bed soon. But the time pa.s.sed on and he didn't seem to come back. I opened my eyes only to realize that the room was completely dark. No light was coming out of that narrow bottom s.p.a.ce in the door of the washroom.

All of a sudden, my heart felt restless. My Black had never done anything like that before. Leaving without telling. When he went to the other world Isla, he had woken me up a little to let me know. He informs me every time! I sat down and picked up my phone from the table. The bright light hurt my eyes but they adjusted quickly and I dialed his phone number.
Unavailable...
It was frigging unavailable. The uneasiness in my heart increased on hearing that automated voice. I turned on the lights and the dark red coloured wall of the room caught my attention. That colour always looked so bright and beautiful but at that moment, it looked like it was painted by crimson blood. I had never ever felt that before while looking at that wall. I do not believe in omens but I still felt that something was terribly wrong.
I tried to calm myself thinking that Black is the strongest angel and he will be alright. He ought to be alright! But my heart couldn't calm down. I dressed up quickly and walked to my car with the mess of a mind. The restlessness in my heart kept increasing with every pa.s.sing second.
When I held the steering wheel, I didn't know where I was going, I didn't know how I was going to find Black, I didn't know anything but that that I wanted to see my Black so badly. I drove around the places we had gone to before like that movie theatre or that mall and to the parts of the city that I myself had never visited. But in the night, only the silence awaited me. I couldn't find him.
Those bad thoughts regarding Black swirled in my mind like a hurricane. I felt so suffocated at that moment. As if there was a plastic bag in front of my face and I couldn't breathe. As if my leg was chained to an iron ball and I was thrown into a sea. I couldn't swim to the surface even after moving my limbs as fast as I could. As if I was in a dark tunnel and I couldn't reach the end of it no matter how much I walked.
The headlights reflected the silhouette of a person and I instantly pressed on the breaks. Unknowingly, I had started driving too fast in my frustration. I was sure to hit that person. My urges instinctively closed in fear. I only heard the screeching of tyres as the car drifted forward and not the sound of metal of the car hitting the person. I was glad I was able to stop the car before I caused an accident.
I got out of the car to check on that person. There was a woman standing about a foot away from my car.
"Are you alright?" I asked in concern. But that lady didn't say anything. She just stared at me with her brows furrowed. The headlights fell on her long legs. Even though it was night and the street light barely illuminated the surroundings, her skin appeared so fair like unblemished snow. Due to her perfect figure, it appeared as if that woman was sculpted instead of being naturally born.
When I got no reply, I was afraid that this almost accident had traumatized that lady. But it probably was her fault too. What was she doing on the middle of this lonely road?
"Tell me. Do you know any angel?" That lady asked me all of a sudden. I was dumbstruck. I had never expected a stranger to ask me that question.
"I... I.." I didn't know what to say. At that moment, my hesitation spit all truth out. I wondered if that lady was an angel or a demon.
"Sure enough. Such dense smell of an angel." That lady replied and her lips arched in a smile. That smile... It was not friendly at all.
"Who are you?" I asked but in my heart, I knew the answer.
"I'm a nightmare..."
She gazed upon me and I couldn't help but look right into her deep blue eyes. I felt as if my soul was sucked out of my body.
"Come with me," that said and started walking. I wanted to push her away, get in my car and drive away but I couldn't do it. I couldn't do it. I felt powerless. It felt like my body was shackled in chains and I had to follow her command like a puppet and she was the puppeteer who commanded those chains. But at that moment, the necklace hanging on my neck gave me a cooling sensation. Those imaginary chains binding me shattered and I regained my freedom.
That lady had walked a few steps ahead and when she realized I wasn't following her, she turned her head.
"Interesting."
The next moment, that lady appeared by my side and held my arm, forcing me to walk along with her. Her hand held me so tightly that it hurt. If she had used a little more force, my arm would have snapped.
I reluctantly walked along with her, hoping that my Black would find me quickly. But that uneasiness I felt when I woke up hasn't faded away yet.
I took a careful look at the surroundings to know my position. While driving, I had kind of lost my mind and I didn't know where I was. I realized we were near the central park. I felt an ominous and evil presence as soon as we entered the park. There were more than one of such presence.
Demons?
When we walked in the depth of the park, in a relatively plain field, I saw many people had gathered there. They all were scattered around randomly and they were standing straight while looking towards a single central direction. We were at a relatively higher place and from there and the count of them all appeared to be a thousand, if not more. I too turned my eyes towards where they were looking at. I saw a person lying on the ground and everyone was looking at that person alone.
