I was facing away from him, looking out of the window blankly because I couldn't sleep. I turned as he pulled me towards him and he, without warning, shoved himself on my chest.
"Is this the way you ask?" I said as I embraced his head in my arms.
"Do you not want to?" he hummed softly and he tried to pull me closer than we already were. His hand smothered my back.
"I do," I replied. He wasn't feeling alright. I knew it. I really wanted to be there for him when he needed me. We stayed like that for a while, silently embracing each other. The room was dim lit. His eyes were closed and he was smiling as if he was enjoying the sound of my heart beating. Even though I was used to him being this close to me, he still was able to make a chaos of my heartbeats with his gently touch.
"They're really soft," he said with a big grin as he moved his face in a place uncomfortable for me and relished the feeling. His face said that he was feeling satisfied. "And big."
"And you're a pervert," I said, though I didn't feel bad about it.
"You're just too... Ahm comfortable."
"You're such a baddie." I glared at him.
"I'm sorry," he sincerely replied.
"It's ok. I allow my big baby to be a pervert," I teased him.
"I'm sorry for before too..."
"Um... Before when exactly?"
"You know when you had to see those things."
"It's nothing to say sorry about Black. I was the one who didn't listen to you and chased you."
"Thanks. And listen to me sometimes."
"I was surprised though. I never imagined that this Black, who is so quiet and submissive in bed, could be so fierce and dominant outside," I said he chuckled on my remark.
"I don't know why but that didn't sound appropriate to me."
"Because your head is filled with naughty thoughts ha."
"It's all your fault," he gently rubbed my bare back. He was really warm. I guessed he was really tired. I played with his long hair. I remembered he told me that he liked strawberries when we were in the car. And for some reason I could imagine both of us in bathroom and me was.h.i.+ng his hair with the shampoo that smelled like strawberries. Filth was in my head not his.
We stayed silent for a while but my Black was still restless.
"Why are you so worried about?"
"Well I'm just concerned that those dumb devils won't listen to my warning and still come here."
"In short. You're worried about me."
"Not really. I can protect you against their whole race, let alone just hundred," I couldn't imagine myself even standing before thousand enemies but he was a too overpowered character. I shouldn't take his strength lightly. But I wondered why he still concerned himself because of them. I pondered over that thought for a while and within a few moments, I got my answer.
"You don't like all this fighting and bloodshed do you?" he instantly got up slightly and looked at me right in my eyes for a moment but then rested his head on my chest again.
"You always see right through me, as if I'm a transparent gla.s.s." he replied. "No, I don't."
"Then why don't you just stop fighting?"
"Hmm..."
"Don't hum me, give me a proper answer."
"Well I don't know actually. I guess I can't stop fighting because they come after me because they are afraid of me. And even if they don't come after me, I'll go after them. One of them did cut off my wing."
"Will you do something for me?"
"Anything for you sweetie."
"Promise me you won't fight or kill anyone ever again, except that bad one." he held me waist when I said that.
"I promise." he said without hesitation.
"Something seemed odd about you when you were in that alley. You were expressionless. My Black who is so childish and innocent was not showing any expression. I thought about it. And I realized you were faking it. You had put on a mask to hide that it was hurting you too to do that."
My Black turned his head to look towards me and opened his eyes. In his eyes were tears. Tears of innocence.
"I have to fake it. If I don't more will come, more will die. I can only try to scare them away. I don't trust myself that I could keep my sanity... You knew it all along... Just what kind of G.o.ddess are you..." I raised up my head and kissed his forehead.
"All I know is that this crybaby in front of me is the real Black."
