Amanda and her son, the woman, and the clown were still sitting on the sofa.
Jessy went back to the shade under the oak tree and sat on the wooden chair.
Oh, for how long she will be waiting here?
What she's waiting for?
Well...she could make her move now...go inside the house and freeze everyone there.
She will read the mind of that woman and then that clown. Maybe they know something about Jason Garcia...even a tiny clue will do.
Ah, she will wait until the darkness of the night, which would take place three hours from now, just to make sure no other visitor will come to interrupt her mind-reading.
Jessy enjoyed the cool breeze and the open air and green scenery surrounding her.
Not bad!
One hour pa.s.sed.
Another hour pa.s.sed.
A total of three hours pa.s.sed.
Finally, the surrounding was slowly getting darker around her.
It's night time!
Great!
Now is the time to enter the house and freeze everyone.
She was about to do so....but the sound of a vehicle can be heard from the distance.
She turns to her right and saw a taxicab coming to the house.
Then the door to the house opened, Amanda and her son can be seen leaving the house while the clown and the woman were waving goodbye at her.
Ah, so Amanda is going back to the city?
She thought they will be staying here tonight.
The taxicab parked in front of the house, Amanda and her son entered the vehicle and waved goodbye again at the people inside the house.
Jessy watched as the taxicab was moving away from the house and going to the highway.
It's the time!
Jessy zoomed through the closed door and landed in the living room.
She saw the woman and the clown on the kitchen talking to each other.
The woman was sitting on the chair while the clown was currently was.h.i.+ng his face with soap to take away the paint on his face, his back was facing Jessy.
Jessy stood rooted on the spot listening to their conversation.
"Did you enjoy your birthday?" the woman asked.
"Yes. I'm having fun with my grandson, he is getting taller!" he said.
Jessy suddenly got interested.
Is this the parents of Amanda's ex-husband?
When the guy was finished was.h.i.+ng his face, the woman handed her the face towel. The guy rubbed his face dry with the face towel.
Then the guy sat on the chair facing the woman.
Jessy stared closely at his face...
His face looks similar to...to...the fugitive, Jason Garcia!
OMG!
Could he be the same person? Or they were just having a few similarities?
Not wanting to torture herself with a million questions, she instantly waved her hand at them freezing them on the process.
Done.
She walked to the guy's side and placed her hand on his head to start scanning for the contents of his memory.
One hour later, Jessy was grinning.
Jackpot!
What she discovered inside his memory only confirms her suspicion, he is indeed the elusive most wanted fugitive Jason Garcia!
She quickly exited the house and rose higher in the air, she took her phone from her bag and place a call on Oliver.
"Partner, where are you? Are you still in the town of Santa Monica?" he asked.
"Yes. And I have good news for you! I found Jason Garcia here in Santa Monica. I'm currently here at his house. Come here immediately with your back up so that we can finish this mission and proceed to another..." she said.
"Whoa! Congratulations, partner! I'm going now to the police station to make a report. See you later!" Oliver ended the call at his end.
Jessy muted her phone so that it won't cause a sound. She entered the house and unfreeze the couple.
She left the house because her stomach was grumbling again, she needs to feed on food!
She zoomed towards the location of the restaurant near the highway.
She located the toilet, good thing it's empty at this hour, she went inside and made herself visible.
A few minutes later, she was already ordering food for dinner in the counter.
She went to the same table that she occupied during lunch and began munching on her food consisted of one serving of rice and Beef Stew with Basil~Tomato Paste, as well as one large gla.s.s of lemon tea.
She savored her dinner slowly, not in a hurry.
She stayed a total of two hours inside the restaurant, to kill time.
She decided that it's now time to go back to the house and check on the couple. She exited the restaurant went to the toilet and from there she turns herself invisible and teleported in the lawn outside the house.
The light on the living room was still on.
She went to the window and took a peek inside. She saw the couple watching the television together in the living room.
She took her phone, and went to the wooden chair under the tree, and texted Oliver of his location. 'Where are you?' she sent her message.
Oliver replied with a short message....' Entering Santa Monica!'
She texted her location, done, she put her phone back in her sling bag and entered the house, she then freezes the couple still watching the television.
She went back outside and sits down on the wooden chair.
Fifteen minutes later, two vehicles were approaching the house.
Jessy stood up and waved her hand at the vehicles.
The cars stopped in front of the house and everyone exited the vehicles. There's a total of ten police officers to capture and escort the fugitive back to the city to be tried by all his crimes in court and served jail time.
"He is inside the house watching television with a woman," Jessy said and walked towards the house, she opened the door and they all come inside.
Jessy unfreezes the couple wearing shocked expressions on their faces after seeing that they were surrounded by the men in uniform...
"What the f.u.c.k is going on!?" Jason screamed in panic.
The police officers depart swiftly and put handcuffs on their hands behind their backs.
Jessy left the house followed by Oliver and she went back to the wooden chair.
"It's done, you made it again, Jess! You're awesome!" Oliver praises her.
She just smiled at him.
Oliver went back inside the house to make his report.
A few hours later.
The police entourage was done in the gathering of pieces of evidence and ready to leave the place. Two police officers were left behind to guard the house.
Jessy and Oliver went ahead followed by the police car with the fugitive and his partner inside.
Oliver glanced at Jessy. "Why are you silent, partner?" he asked.
"It's tiring as h.e.l.l! But satisfying!" Jessy barely managed a smile.
"Well, you will get used to it sooner or later until you will feel nothing anymore and you feel numb! It's going to become boring and repet.i.tive. Sad to say, as long you still have supernatural power, it's gonna be a lifelong commitment, partner. The government will never let you go as long you are still useful to them," he said.
Jessy shrugged. "You are right!" she agreed and fixed her eyes on the road ahead. "Do you think less of me when I told you that I'm tired?" she asked his opinion.
Oliver shook his head. "Not really. You know why? Because even if you're doing good things that don't mean you are enjoying it fully. People will get tired but continue honoring their commitments for the benefit of all. For example, single parents who work a living every day at the same time taking care of their children, man, that's tiring! A poor hardworking father who works from Monday to Sunday to feed his family without any break, that's tiring too! A mother who takes care of five children day in and day out, that's tiring as well! Many people keep doing tiring activities in their lives but sad to say they can't stop, they have to keep moving and keep honoring their responsibility for the sake of their loved ones."
Jessy smiled a bit. "You put tears in my eyes, partner!" she pouted. "Thanks for your words of wisdom it makes me feel better," she said feeling grateful that he didn't think less of her.
Oliver glanced at her for a few seconds. "Partner, every time you feel tired and wanna give up, think of those people I mentioned above if they don't give up on their responsibilities, you shouldn't and instead be inspired by their strength. Truth is, our life in this world is full of sacrifices. Those who made the ultimate sacrifices every day are the real unsung heroes of our society... so cheer up...you are not alone!"
Jessy laughed aloud. "You're an awesome human being!" she told him.
Oliver chuckled.
