The queen addressed her son sitting in the foam mattress. "Son, go ahead, you can begin erasing this man's memory. You need to be careful, okay? Only erase specifically the memory that was a.s.sociated with the abduction and nothing else in order not to disrupt his memories," she reminded him.
"Yes, Mom," Adam stood up and placed the frozen man horizontally in the mattress then he positioned his hands on the man's head and began scanning his memories at a faster speed, then he slows down when the man's memory already showing the scenes of the abduction. One by one he began the deletion process.
Queen Margaret walked towards the bed that Zain occupied. She sat on the bed beside him, he was busy playing games in the game console. She took a peek at the screen out of curiosity. "What are you playing, son?"
Zain looked at his mother for a few seconds. "Games..." then he s.h.i.+fted his attention back to the screen.
"Nice. How are you feeling now?" the queen continue asking hoping to cultivate a decent conversation with her oldest son.
A faint smile appeared on Zain's lips. "I'm f-fine!" he finally blurted out after struggling to find the right words to describe his current frame of mind.
"That's good. I'm hoping you finally feel better now that your brother decided to accompany you here in your prison room. Your brother loves you, we love you. Always remember that," she said as tears glistened in her eyes.
Zain glanced at his younger brother. Adam doesn't need to bend down for him but he did so sacrificing his freedom and his good life outside just to be with him in this prison wall. "He's doing this for Jessy, Mom," he corrected his mother coldly.
The queen released a deep sigh and shook his head sadly. "You have to remember son, that Adam and Jessy were both powerful beings. They can be together anytime they want and no one can stop them. But the fact that your brother chose to stay in this prison room just to be with you is already a big sacrifice on his part. He wants to help you, to let you know that there's more to life than brooding about the past love that's been lost already. Move on, son. The soonest that you can do it, the better things will turn out to be," she ran her hands on her son's back wanting to convey to him her maternal affection.
Zain heard and understood everything that her mother was telling him. He glanced at his brother Adam one last time before immersing himself back into the games.
After realizing that her oldest son no longer wants to talk to her, Queen Margaret left Zain's side and sauntered towards her daughter that was sitting on the chair facing the table. "What are you doing, Abigail?" she asked.
The smiling Abigail looked at her mother. "I'm playing this addicting game called...Battle Of The Losers..." she grinned broadly.
Queen Margaret laughed upon hearing the name of the addicting game. "So, how it becomes addicting then?" she asked curiously.
"All the losers will be thrown into the arena that was filled with traps and maze and there will be no weapon except for slippers, everyone has to slap each other using the slipper to earn points that will acc.u.mulate and then one can buy a ticket to get out of the arena to freedom," a beaming Abigail explained.
Queen Margaret erupted into a peal of laughter finding the game hilarious. "Since when slipper becomes a weapon-?" she kept laughing her shoulder was shaking in amus.e.m.e.nt.
Abigail joined her mother's laughter. The room vibrated with their merry laughter.
Adam paused for a moment and looked at his mother and sister, smirking, then he continues with his task.
On the other hand, Zain can't help but smile while listening to his mother and sister's contagious laughter.
Then after a while. The Queen pressed her mouth shut after realizing that Adam needs to concentrate on what he was doing.
Abigail placed the game console in her mother's hands and restart the game, then she explained to her the mechanics on how to play the game using the b.u.t.tons on the sides of the screen.
A few minutes later.
Queen Margaret was already playing the game on her own. "It's funny and addicting indeed," she agreed while smiling.
Abigail groaned in dismay, she was left alone with no gadget to play with. Aha! She spotted Adam's game console in the foam mattress, she grabbed her brother's game console and began playing the slipper game again.
Adam was erasing the human's memory, while Queen Margaret, Abigail, and Zain were busy playing addicting games.
Such was a strange sight that greeted King Antone when he looked for his missing family inside the prison room.
"Guys, I was looking for you all over the place, I never thought I will find you all here," he said in puzzlement.
Queen Margaret grinned and motioned her husband to come to her side. "Come here, hubby! I will show you something. Your daughter teaches me how to play games in this cool gadget," said the queen delightedly.
"What is it?" said the king in bafflement, he went to his wife's side and watched her activity over her shoulder.
Abigail vacated the chair next to her mother. "Father, have a seat," she said and went to sit on the other chair.
Queen Margaret placed the console in her husband's hands and explained the mechanics of the game.
King Antone began playing the game and soon enough he doesn't want to give the gadget back to her wife after finding the slipper game hilarious and addicting.
Queen Margaret grinned cunningly and s.n.a.t.c.hed the game console from her daughter's grasp just to tease her.
"Mother!" Abigail shrieked in dismay. "Please give it back to me!"
The queen returned the gadget to her daughter. "Here, I'm just teasing you!" she messes up her daughter's hair fondly.
"I love you, Mom!" Princess Abigail smiled and resumed playing the slipper game alongside with her father.
One hour and thirty minutes later.
"I'm done, Mother!" Adam was done erasing the frozen man's memory of the abduction.
"Very good! Let's go now, hubby," the queen said to her husband.
King Antone was still playing, reluctant to part with the gadget.
"Come one, let's go now. Give the gadget back to the children so that they won't get bored here," she said. "Don't worry, we will buy our gaming console, let's ask Ruby's a.s.sistance," she whispered in his ears.
"Okay," the king grinned and placed the gadget back into the table, for a few seconds he smiled fondly at his children, relis.h.i.+ng on their presence. "Let's go!" he finally said.
Queen Margaret looked at her children's faces and smiled brightly. "Enjoy bonding guys!" she winked at Adam and Abigail in a conniving manner.
"Bye, Mom, Dad!" the children responded in unison.
The queen and king touched the frozen man's arms and they disappeared from the room.
