Done talking to his sister and bid goodbye to his mother, Adam exited the study room and went to the clinic, he saw his girlfriend still lying in the bed undergoing blood transfusion together with a recipient on the other bed.
Jessy turned her head feeling a presence outside, she smiled sweetly when she saw Adam looking at her from the gla.s.s window.
"I'm going home, see you tomorrow," Adam mouthed.
Jessy waves her hand and blew a kiss on her boyfriend, Adam did the same.
He walked away from the gla.s.s window and ambled in the hallway and initiated the teleportation process in his mind, after a few seconds, he vanished.
Back in the clinic, the smile of antic.i.p.ation and excitement for tomorrow's event lingers on Jessy's lips.
Two hours later.
The blood transfusion ended.
"Happy weekend, Doc!" Jessy said.
"You too! Enjoy bonding with your family," the smiling doctor responded.
Jessy exited the clinic and went to her room.
From there, she made herself invisible and initiated the teleportation process in her mind going to the mansion.
The time was already 11:00 in the evening.
She landed in the dark living room of the mansion, it looks like Nana Aida and Grandpa Waldo had already retired for the night.
She walked towards Nana Aida's room and pa.s.sed through the closed door, she saw Nana Aida already sleeping soundly in the bed with the lights on. She made herself visible again.
She walked slowly to her side and touches Nana Aida's arms lightly.
Nana Aida's eyes slowly opened, she blinked her eyes twice and saw a woman's silhouette then she opened her eyes wide. "J-Jessy?"
Jessy smiled fondly at her nanny. "Yes, it's me, Nana. How are you doing? And how is Grandpa Waldo?" she asked because it's been a while that she had a conversation with her nanny. She sat on the edge of the bed.
Nana Aida rises from the bed and sat beside Jessy. "Why are you here at this hour, child?" she rubbed her eyes wanting to ward off the sleepiness away. "About Waldo, you have nothing to worry about him, he is a good and hardworking man. I only have good praises for him. You should see his vegetable garden, they are marvelous to look at!" she raves.
"That's good Nana. I'm happy that Grandpa Waldo impresses you greatly. Looks like you found a kindred spirit in him. I'm glad I picked him up in the street and give him a new life here," Jessy said.
Nana Aida smiled. "When it comes to Waldo, you have nothing to worry about us here, we're doing great! So...tell me why you're here in the middle of the night?" she asked, confused.
"I'm sorry to disturb your sleep, Nana. But I have a piece of good news for you!" Jessy can't contain her feelings, her eyes were glowing with excitement.
Nana Aida looked at the younger woman's face. "Tell me about it, child. I'm all ears..."
"My Mom and Dad will come here tomorrow. After a long time, they will finally set foot in this mansion again!" Jessy blurted out.
Nana Aida's eyes widened in surprise and excitement. "That's good! It's been a long time I had not seen your parents, it's about time they will come back to live here again," she said.
Jessy shook her head. "Nana, they won't be staying here, they will just visit for one day. Unless I can finish transforming all the vampires in the facility into mortals, my parents can't come back here and live a peaceful life," she explained a bit sadly.
"Ah, I see, I understand. Anyways, I will go to the second floor and clean the master's bedroom rooms. I clean all the rooms upstairs once a week, that was last week, so it's kind of dusty as of this moment..." Nana Aida was about to stand up and leave the room.
"No need Nana Aida, I can do it myself. Just continue your sleep. I will clean my parent's room. Don't worry about the food to prepare tomorrow, Adam and I already went grocery shopping yesterday, we bought chicken, pork and fish. We will grill the meat in the lake in the afternoon, 'coz we're going to have a picnic!" Jessy clapped her hands in glee.
Nana Aida's face broke into a dazzling smile. "That sounds fun! I can't wait to see your parents tomorrow!"
"That's enough for tonight, Nana Aida. You can return to sleep now. I will go upstairs to clean my parent's room. Then after cleaning, I will return to the Facility," Jessy said.
"OK, I will go back to sleep..." Nana Aida lies down on the bed. Jessy wrapped the blanket around the old woman.
She was about to turn around and exit the room when Nana Aida called out for her.
"Child...wait...!" she said.
"What is it, Nana?"
"Waldo already knew about you and Adam's ident.i.ty. I told him..."
"But Nana..." Jessy got a worried look on her face. "Do you think it's too early for him to know our secrets?"
Nana Aida smiled. "If I can trust you and Adam with my life, trust me, I can honestly say that Waldo can keep a secret. Besides he has no family and friends anymore and that man never goes out of this mansion even once, our secret is safe with him," she a.s.sured her.
Jessy smiled, she trusted Nana Aida's judgment about Grandpa Waldo's character. "Okay, go back to sleep Nana, I'm leaving now..."
Jessy disappeared from the room.
Nana Aida shut her eyes and resumed her sleep wearing a smile on her face looking forward to seeing the owner of the house.
Jessy arrived on the second floor and began cleaning the master's bedroom, she sweeps the floor and began wiping the dust in the furniture's using a piece of cloth, then she changed the bed covers. Next, she inspected the bathroom, the tiles, and the toilet bowl were still clean. She left them alone.
She finished cleaning the room after one hour. With one last look of the room, feeling satisfied with her hard work and efforts, she scooped the dusty bed covers and dumped them in the laundry room downstairs.
Done with her concern in the mansion, she teleported back into the Facility and landed inside her room.
She quickly changed into clean clothes and rolled into the bed retiring for the night.
