After her break from the first blood transfusion for the day, Jessy went hurriedly to Olivia's room to bring the good news to the woman. After seeing Olivia's son being taken good care by the family, she felt relief as well even though she has nothing to do with the child.
Jessy entered the room with a bright smile on her face. "h.e.l.lo, Olivia! Hows your, morning?"
Olivia smiled back. "Good morning, Jess! My morning is good although it's a bit lonely here, but I'm doing fine since I know I will be going home anytime soon. You look happy today?"
Jessy continues smiling brightly. "I'm happy today because I have a good news for you!"
Olivia's face was expectant. "Really? What is it—?"
"I went to your home last night. I saw your mother, father, brother and sister. And I saw your son Iggy watching a cartoon movie in TV!" Jessy exclaimed.
Olivia's face tears up right away, fresh tears sprung from her eyes. Her worries finally dissipated after Jessy mentioned Iggy, her son was doing well, thanks G.o.d! Then she sobbed uncontrollably because of so much joy.
Jessy understood why Olivia was crying hard, it's not tears of sadness but tears of joy. She rubbed the woman's back gently.
After a few minutes of crying, Olivia finally dried her tears away, then she smiled brightly at Jessy. "Thank you so much for bringing the good news to me this morning, Jess. I can't help but cry because I feel so relieved after knowing that my son is doing well and my family was able to incorporate my son into their lives, even though my son is very hard to handle sometimes."
Then Jessy become silent for a moment.
Olivia noticed the younger woman's changed of expression.
"What's wrong, Jess?" she asked.
Jessy looked at Olivia's face, feeling worried a bit. "But there is something you need to know...um...they c..chained your son, Iggy, to the door post," she stammered a bit.
Olivia released a deep sigh after hearing what Jessy had revealed to her.
"Ah, I'm sorry of what you saw, Jess. You might be bothered by it. But there is one thing you need to know about my son...he went missing for two days once...because he got out of the house undetected. Thankfully we found him right away before something bad happen to him. If we don't restrain him with a rope, chain or anything, he will always find a way how to get out of the house. So, to prevent bad incidents from happening ever again, I have no choice but to restrain him. It's the only way to protect him..."
Jessy finally understood why—although she was already thinking of the same after she saw Iggy's condition last night.
"Have you tried bringing Iggy to a park or a mall? Um...you know for exposure purposes, he might improve," she suggested.
Olivia sighed. "I tried, when he was still younger I can bring him to a park or to a mall, but when he was getting older, he would sometimes grab other peoples things and wouldn't let go. If I would try to separate him and the object that he likes he would throw an insane tantrums that would take a long time to subdue, he is simply different, so yeah, I avoid bringing him to a crowded places because he would just act differently. He just don't know how to behave properly...I can stomach other people staring at us...but it's my son's high pitch scream and tantrums that would blow my mind away making me crazy, so yeah...that's my son...either you love or hate him, but I'm a mother so I am the only one who can stomach all of his crazy antics," she gave a lengthy explanation.
"...but I always wanted to have a house that has a big lawn so that I can make a swing for Iggy, I also want to buy him a bike and teach him how to ride a bike, then install a basketball court so that he and my younger brother can play basketball...then I will make a small swimming pool because he loves playing in water...a plastic pool will do. But I know that all my dreams were just a wishful thinking, coming from a fool who is nothing and got nothing, so yeah...it's just a wild dream and wish of mine..." Olivia added.
Jessy smiled a bit. "Well, keep dreaming, Olivia. Who knows one of these days, all your dreams and wishes will come true. Just think positively...everything is possible if you don't stop believing. Okay?"
"Ok," Olivia smiled happily.
Jessy stared at the older woman's face keenly. "Do you still want to go back to prost.i.tution after I will send you home tonight?"
Olivia was taken aback by the question, she was silent for a moment. She wasn't thinking about that issue after a long time because she never think she will be able to get out alive from the vampires clutches.
"I dunno, maybe I will try to find another work but it will be useless because my son requires constant caring every now and then, so, I might not be able to find a flexible job that would allow me to earn money at the same time taking care of him. Unless, I will encounter a miracle one of these days and G.o.d will turn me into a rich lady, then that's the only way my life will change for the better. Just in case I can't find a suitable work for my condition I might be force to go back to selling my body to men," there was a hint of bitterness in her voice.
Jessy sighed, feeling the heavy weight on Olivia's shoulder. Raising a mentally ill son requires money which the poor woman doesn't have.
Which reminds her that she still have to check out the 333 lotto tickets she had bought for the draw last night, if it has a hit.
Jessy stood up. "Olivia, I have to go now. Get ready for tonight, I will fetch you here so that I can finally bring you home to your family..."
Olivia rose to her feet as well. "Okay, I will prepare for tonight, Jess. OMG! I'm so excited to finally go home and see my family!" she shrieked excitedly.
Jessy patted Olivia's shoulder. "See you later..."
"See you tonight, Jess!" Olivia responded.
Jessy opened the door and closed it behind her. She will go to her room, bring her laptop and the lotto tickets to her mother's office because there is a WiFi connection there.
