Jessy went to the Habitat to find grandma Alicia. Since it's already evening Alicia was no longer in the park, she found the old woman in one of the lounge chairs in the pool area having fun watching the singles frolicking in the pool.

Grinning, Jessy sat down on the empty lounge chair beside grandma intending to relax a bit.

"h.e.l.lo Granny! Wow! Fancy seeing you here. Are you enjoying the view?" she asked jovially.

"Oh, it's you again!? It's nice to see you here, I would love to have your company since I have no one to talk to," Alicia said.

Jessy scanned the whole pool area and was enjoying the view.

"It's nice seeing people enjoying the pool, isn't it, Granny?" she's establis.h.i.+ng a pleasant conversation with the old woman.

"Yeah..."

"Aren't you tempted to join them? Why don't you swim in the pool to join the fun?"

Alicia shook her head. "Nah, the winds get colder during the night, my old skin can not survive the cold I will be s.h.i.+vering by then if I stay longer in the water. But I'm enjoying watching the men and women having fun in the water, it's relaxing and invigorating watching them chasing each other playfully..."

"Ah, okay," Jessy murmured. "Granny, have you eaten dinner already?" she added.

"Yes, one hour earlier," grandma answered.

"I'm here to ask how's your health condition? Is everything alright? No symptoms?" she asked looking closely at the old woman's face. Based on her observation the old woman is looking healthy and zany, not suffering ill health at all.

Alicia looked at the younger woman. "I am healthy, although I walked slowly, I'm not suffering from ill-health. I can a.s.sure you I'm perfectly alright, I know my body well better than anyone else, so please don't worry about me, child. Though, I like it when you visit me once in a while," she said.

"Health-wise...you look amazing indeed, Granny!" she commented.

"Why don't you join the singles over there? They were having fun socializing with their kind instead of wasting your company on me?" Alicia said.

Jessy scanned her eyes over the pool. "Nah, let them have their fun. I will just watch them on the sideline just like you. Who says that we can never have fun just watching people taking a bath in the pool—?" she grinned from ear to ear.

They continue enjoying the view.

The atmosphere around the pool area got a summer festival vibe to it...the people's laughter, chattering and water falling from the statue of the dolphin's mouth filled the air.

In the sky, although the moon was hiding in the clouds a million stars are appearing in the heaven's above.

The atmosphere and weather were both pleasant.

Jessy felt proud that she somehow made all this possible for everyone, the vampires that used to stay hidden below the ground of the Facility were now enjoying freedom day and night. As she swept her gaze around the area, she realized these people carry her blood in their veins. She had done something important for their lives, and it feels good to see them enjoying the company of each other. While they were still living below the Facility they would be holed up inside their rooms, doing nothing, thinking of nothing. If the royal family allowed them to roam freely on their own outside the Facility, they might be already dead by now. And it's not an easy life down the Facility, although they weren't doing anything, they can't go outside, all they can see are the four corners of their room 24/7. It's a terrible life, it's like you were being imprisoned in those cold rooms all your life.

Compare to her she can get out of the Facility anytime. She can go anywhere, see Adam, go to the city or visit Nana Aida in the mansion. The people here in the Habitat are very lucky, while the rest of the vampires below the Facility will have to wait for many years before they can be released from their hiding place.

Sometimes she feels it's daunting to be the only one doing the blood transfusion for them, she was doing it all alone for them and it's kind of scary if something bad happens to her, how long the Facility and the Habitat can exist?

These people around her were supposed to be nearing extinction, then her blood gives their life a new meaning, she was carrying such a heavy responsibility on her shoulder, the sheer magnitude of that responsibility sometimes blows her mind away.

One hour later.

"Granny Alicia, it's now time for me to go back to the Facility. I enjoyed spending time with your company," she said.

Alicia smiled warmly at the younger woman in front of her. "I saw you in deep in thoughts earlier, child. Whatever you are thinking inside your head must be very heavy. Anyways, you are always welcome to spend time with me. Go now, I know you still have to go back to the clinic, you take care of yourself!"

"Goodnight, Alicia, I'm leaving now!" Jessy rose to her feet and left the pool area.

Before she went back to the clinic she dropped by first at her mother's office.

"Mom, let's have family bonding tonight!" Jessy said all of a sudden.

Sarah's eyes twinkled. "Where?"

"Yours and Dad's room, I just want to spend time with my beloved parents, we rarely bond together," she pouted.

"And—what we're going to do?" Sarah asked bemusedly.

"Let's watch some horror or sci-fi movies on my laptop!" she said.

"Okay as you wis.h.!.+" Sarah said smiling fondly at her only offspring.

"I will go back to the clinic now, Mom. The blood transfusion will end at 10:00. I will come to your room, please bring cold cola and potato chips, thank you!" she requested with puppy dogs eyes.

Sarah nodded and smiled, "Aye Madam!"

"Bye Mom! See yeah later!" Jessy said and exited her mother's office.

She sprinted down into the middle part of the Facility going to the clinic. She's looking forward to spending some quality time with her parents tonight.

She arrived in the clinic. "I'm back, Doc! Guess what—?"

The doctor looked at her sunny countenance frowning. "What is it?"

"One hour ago, I spent time with Granny Alicia in the Habitat, together, we're watching people enjoying bathing in the swimming pool," she said. "When I asked her about her health, she told me that she is perfectly alright, no symptoms whatsoever. And based on what I have observed on her body appearance, she looks healthy," Jessy explained.

"That's good!" the doctor said feeling grateful.

"Let's start the blood transfusion now, Doc!" Jessy said with enthusiasm in her voice. She eagerly lies down on the bed and waited for the doctor to inject the needle in her veins.

The doctor went to the adjacent room to get the recipient and then they began the blood transfusion session for that evening.
