Dolores breathed deeply.
"I tried to convince him to leave our place and go with me, but he refused, he said that you will never be able to forgive us because we were never good parents to you. I told him that it doesn't matter we just have to try...I told him that I could never give up without trying first so I left him alone in our old house, your father could never muster the courage to come with me here because he was afraid of getting shunned by his children, he was so ashamed of himself. But deep inside I know he was also tired of the destructive life we are living we just have no idea where to go and ask for help. So, I come here first hoping that you will accept me back my child. Your father and I were getting older now, we just want to spend the rest of our life atoning for our sins and making it up to our children and our grandchildren. My child, please forgive your father, he's not really that bad, he was just emotionally and mentally weak like me, we were unable to resist the temptation of drugs and alcohol. Give him a chance, please...I want him to leave with us..." she begged.
Emma wiped the tears from her eyes. "One at a time, Mother, this is all too much for me to bear. Prove to me that you are indeed serious of wanting to change your life for the better. If you can prove to me within one month that you are changing for the better then I will consider accepting father as well. But I have to remind you, mother, that if you won't change your ways I won't hesitate to kick you out of this house. Are we clear mother?"
Dolores nodded her head and hugged her daughter tightly. "Thank you so much, daughter! I will never waste this golden chance you had given me. I will prove to you that with your help I can kick out my bad habit for good."
Emma stood up and a.s.sisted her mother to her feet. "Let's get inside mother, the night is getting colder." She grabs her mother's bundle of clothing and they went inside the living room.
When Suzanne saw the mother and daughter entered the door, finally, a smile appeared on her lips. Thank G.o.d it's finally over! she murmured to herself. Now they can sleep the night peacefully.
"My mother will sleep with me in our room from now on," Emma said to Suzanne.
Suzanne gave her sister-in-law a thumbs-up sign. "I will go to my room now and sleep, goodnight girls!" she said.
"Goodnight Suzanne!" Emma responded energetically.
Suzanne left the living room and entered her room.
Emma guided her mother into the bedroom, her daughter was sleeping soundly in the queen size bed. "Mother, you go inside the bathroom and clean yourself so that we can rest," she pointed at the bathroom in the corner of the room.
Dolores entered the bathroom.
Emma opened the bundle of clothing that her mother brought with her and picked up clean clothes for her mother to change into. She knocked on the bathroom door and gave the clothing to her mother.
A few minutes later Emma's mother exited the bathroom and went to the bed and stared at her beautiful granddaughter's face. "Oh my, she looks like you when you were at that age, Emma," Dolores commented.
Emma smiled proudly at her daughter. "Her name is Emily. Let's sleep now, Mother."
The women lie down on both sides of the bed while the toddler was sleeping soundly in the middle.
Emma and her mother smiled at each other, their severed bond was finally reconnected today.
Jessy was watching them in the corner, a wide smile plastered on her face. When she came here she did not expect to witness such a heart-wrenching mother and daughter reunion. Earlier when Emma and her mother's tears were falling down their face, Jessy's tears also fell from her eyes, she can't help but get affected by the emotional reunion.
Whew Life!
Time to go back to the Facility.
But wait---!
How is Aston doing in his prison cell?
She still has a few minutes to spare, she will try to visit him in his cell.
But where did the cops imprisoned him?
She had no idea.
Hmm...she can go to the captain's house and asked him directly about Aston's whereabouts but he might be already sleeping by now.
There are three prison facilities within the city's perimeters...she knew their location.
She will try to find him first in the biggest prison facility, she can easily locate him there because she can trace his human scent.
Jessy left the house and rose higher into the air.
She hovered above...looking into the direction of the prison facility in the far distance. She zoomed towards that direction in dizzying speed.
Ten minutes later, she was hovering above the prison facility.
Closing her eyes...she concentrated in her mind...tracing Aston's human scent.
She found him at last!
His human scent was emanating strongly right outside the building where the prisoners were being housed.
She hovered down pa.s.sing through the roof and landing down in the long hallway. She looked around her...it's dark.
The prisoners were already sleeping in their cells.
Where is Aston?
His human scent is getting stronger...
Then she heard faint noises originating from the farthest corner of the hallway...she heard someone grunting and groaning as if the owner of the voice was experiencing excruciating pain.
She zoomed right into the last cell.
What she saw inside the cell make her heart stop beating...
Her mouth went dry...
She recognized Aston's face!...he got blood all over his body, he was lying on the floor looking unconscious...while three of his cellmates were pounding Aston's body with their fist and kicks.
WTF! are they doing?
Where is the guard!?
Why no one heard anything?
Or... are they all just pretending to sleep?
Dammit! Jessy gritted her teeth in anger.
One of the men was holding a knife on his hand ready to strike the fallen man...
Jessy's hands moved instantly freezing the three men inside the cell.
In front of Aston's cell is another cell that housed four inmates, they were watching the spectacle in front of them silently...unfolding before their eyes is a vision they'd never seen before... their eyes grow wider when the men on the other cell were no longer moving and one by one the men fell into the floor in a loud thud, their body convulsing, it looks like they had a hard time breathing...as if there was an invisible hand suffocating them.
Then they saw Anton's unconscious body being lifted into the bed but no one is holding him.
What the h.e.l.l they just saw!?
WTF?
The inmates were now trembling in fear.
The four prisoners looked at each other and screamed at the top of their lungs..."Ghost! Ghost! Ghost!"
Suddenly the light went on.
All prisoners were now wide awake, everyone was trying to take a glimpse of what is going on and what was the commotion is all about.
Three guards were rus.h.i.+ng into the last cell...one of the guards immediately inserted the key and opened the cell...they checked the men's pulses and their breathing...then they looked at each other.
"Three dead...one alive...let's bring him to the clinic!" one of the guards said.
Jessy watched the guards carrying the unconscious Aston into the clinic. The doctor burst into the clinic and administered first aid to Aston's nasty cuts and bruises.
Jessy only left the clinic after the doctor informed the guards that the prisoner is safe and no fatal wound found on his body.
Jessy breathed in relief.
If she arrived late...
Aston would be dead.
She saved one person...but killed three tonight. She doesn't know what to feel anymore. She teleported into her room in the Facility.
She jumped right into the bed welcoming the softness of the bed, then she closed her eyes.
Time to sleep.
