"B-but son! Think of the future of our royal lineage..." the king was desperate to make his son see his reason. "Everyone of us needs to sacrifice something..."
"The prophecy is bulls.h.i.+t! I don't want any part of it!" Zain responded in a cold voice.
"Zain, you used to be pa.s.sionate about this cause, why are you no longer supporting us? Why---?" the queen was trying hard not to cry again.
"Because I can't sacrifice my family, I can't give up my wife! You guys should know it! Stop asking me questions and stop persuading me to give up my wife for my brother, it's not gonna happen, you have to kill me first!" he said adamantly.
The king and queen both released a deep sigh, convincing Zain to give up his wife is a daunting task. They looked at each other's eyes...time for them to exit the place since they can't get what they want.
The royal couple disappeared from Zain's prison room and a few seconds later they appeared in their room.
The Queen walked towards the edge of the bed and took a deep breath, her mind was busy thinking of a better way how to convince Zain to give up Jessy.
The King sat on the bed beside his wife. "Think no more my Queen, it's about time Zain will know the truth about Jessy and Hannah. Once he knows that the woman he married and the woman he impregnated is not the real Jessy....maybe it will become easy for him to let go of his wife. What do you think?"
The queen was shaking her head while looking at her husband. "The painful truth will only push him further into the abyss of depression. He might now be able to bear the pain, I'm afraid he might do something stupid later on..."
"I think Zain will be able to accept the pain once he knew that he had no hold on Jessy from the very beginning. I think it's worth a try..." the king insisted.
"I'm still not buying it, I have a bad feeling about where this will lead him. Zain was already suffering badly, adding salt to his injury will only make his condition worse. He looks withdrawn and hopeless already, I'm afraid he will sink further in misery and desolation. My worse fear might materialize one day and he might end his life..." said the queen.
The more King Antone thinks about it the more he was eager to push through with his plan. "No! Zain won't do something stupid like that. He might be looking sad and shattered but once he will learn of the truth...he will slowly let go of Jessy. He was living in an illusion, his marriage to Jessy is fake, it's about time he will learn of the truth...the sooner he will learn of the truth the better for his mental health. It will hurt him real bad in a few days...but I believe now is the best time to tell him the truth while the baby is not born yet, he had enough time to accept Hannah."
The queen was silent for a moment.
"Okay, when we will tell Zain the truth?" Margaret finally agreed to her husband's suggestion upon remembering that Zain already had a child with Hannah.
"We will do it one of these days. We will inform Jessy and Hannah about our plan tomorrow," the king said.
The queen isn't fully convinced yet that telling Zain about Hannah and Jessy is the best solution but she can't think anymore, so far it's the only solution that was deemed good enough to help convince Zain to let go of Jessy and move on with his life together with Hannah.
Now that the blood transfusion was moving forward nicely....the next step will be the union of Jessy and Adam so that they can start producing powerful offspring that will make the vampire legacy continue to flourish in the next years to come.
Unknown to them...Adam was listening to his parent's conversation.
He teleported back into Jessy's room.
He found her already awake, sitting on the bed, eyes wide open.
"Jess..." he climbed into the bed.
"Where have you been, Adam?" she asked.
"I visit my brother," he answered.
"How is he?" Jessy asked.
"He's still the same," Adam answered sadly. "But I managed to listen to my parent's conversation, they plan to tell Zain the truth about you and Hannah. Do you think it's now the best time to tell my brother about the painful truth regarding your scheme with Hannah?"
Jessy took a long breath. "Whatever..." then she lies back in the bed.
Before she closed her eyes again, she gave Adam her sweetest smile. "Sweet dreams, Adam. I want to sleep, we shall talk about your brother tomorrow morning, okay? At some point in time, your brother has to know the truth. I know how much you wanted to repair your relations.h.i.+p with your brother, don't worry, all things have its own time...broken relations.h.i.+p will be healed at the right time, just wait a little bit...okay?"
Adam smiled and hugged Jessy tightly. "Goodnight, Jess!" he breathed a sigh of relief. He buried his face into her neck.
"Good night," she responded sweetly. "No matter what happened, do not transfer your power to your brother even if it's a matter of life and death situation," she reminded him.
Adam didn't reply.
