An old man wearing a military uniform banged his fist on the table while throwing a bunch of paper at a dark-haired woman wearing a lab coat. Despite his high military rank and his notoriety for being cruel, the doctor wasn't the least bit afraid of him. She stared back at him with an expressionless face and retorted
"Haven't you read the papers? They're just results of blood tests."
Seeing her lack of reaction and calmness, the man was further incensed but he didn't dare do something out of place for he knew that she was an important a.s.set and the only person who can conduct this experiment.
"That's what I'm saying! Why did you run a test on their blood?!"
The woman crossed her arms, leaned on the chair and replied after letting out a long sigh.
"Isn't that obvious? I wanted to make sure none of them had a disease as it'll be problematic in the future."
The old man ma.s.saged his temples, tried to calm himself down before talking again:
"We've already done that in the past so I'm sure that wasn't your objective…"
He stood up, glared at her for a few moments before adding:
"I don't know what you're plotting but you better keep yourself in check. Though you may be valuable to us, it doesn't mean we can't find a replacement."
Hearing this, the woman let out a chuckle and retorted:
"If you can find a replacement then, by all means, go ahead. It's not like I'm doing this because I like it."
The military man snorted and angrily stormed out of the room, leaving the woman alone, lost in her own world.
After some time pa.s.sed, a young man entered the office and walked next to the doctor and whispered something to her.
"Ma'am, the results were all negative."
"Is that so?"
The youngster nodded his head and stood next to her, awaiting the next a.s.signment.
"Any news from the outside?"
"U-uhm… amongst the six missing test subjects, four were found dead and the remaining two are nowhere to be seen. They're pouring all their efforts in locating them and bringing them here alive, or so I've heard."
"Alright, run tests on the four deceased subjects and see if they match."
The youngster nodded his head and left the room soon after.

By the time Jasmine woke up, Bin was already clothed and waiting for her in front of her bedroom. He helped a bit in the kitchen and filled his stomach will all kinds of delicious stuff. Basically, he was in his top form and ready to bear through Jasmine's nagging and not-so-funny pranks.
Thankfully, she can't fully focus on him all day as she'll be busy with school.
…
A drowsy-looking Jasmine exited her room while yawning and rubbing her sleepy eyes. She halted her steps when she saw Bin, who smiled at her.
For some reason, she got the s.h.i.+vers when she saw his friendly smile.
"What the h.e.l.l? Stop that, it's creeping me out."

Bin feigned ignorance and scratched his head while saying
"Master, what's wrong? Do you not like my smile?"
She waved her hand in annoyance and replied
"Yes, so stop it."
She rolled her sleeves and showed him
"Look, I even have gooseb.u.mps!"
After throwing one last glance at her unusually obedient servant, she snorted and left toward the dining room. She didn't even change her clothes and only cared about filling her growling empty stomach.
Bin silently followed the slow Jasmine, who only got to her destination after randomly roaming the manor for G.o.ds know why.
As usual, her father and mother were seated around the table, furthermore, little Mina was surprisingly here, something Bin didn't expect to see.
When he left her earlier, she was clearly deep asleep so he was left wondering about who woke her up and dressed her like this. Contrary to her usual outfit, she was wearing a gorgeous black dress that suited her perfectly and made her look very cute.
"Big brother!"
Once she laid on him, the little girl jumped off her seat and charged into his arms, tightly hugging him while rubbing her cheek against his. Bin caressed her head and said
"Our Mina has grown up and is able to wake up on her own, hahaha"
"En! It's because I slept early!"
Mina left her brother's arms and stood before him then spun around, showing him her new outfit.
"Big brother, how do I look?"
"Very, very beautiful!"
Hearing her brother compliment her, the little girl started giggling. Jasmine also joined the fun and inspected Mina in amazement.
She tried to give the little girl a hug but the latter slipped through her arms and went back to her sit.
The madam smiled as she saw this little show, as for her husband, he seemed to be busy reading the newspaper.
Very soon, everyone but Bin got seated and patiently waited for the food to be served.
"Bin, sit with us and eat."
Angelica tried inviting Bin but he shook his head and rejected her.
"Thank you but I've already eaten."
"Then sit down, it must be tiring to stay like that."
She signaled for him to sit down but Bin kept refusing while glancing at the silent Hyue, who was standing next to him.
"He's a servant, if he wants to stand then let him stand."
Theodore interfered and said that, however, he soon regretted his decision. When he peeked at his wife through the newspaper, he found her looking at him with a strange and unsettling gaze. In the end, he let out several coughs and corrected himself:
"Lad, you can sit, it's not obligatory to stand. Plus, your legs will hurt."
Bin contained his laugh as he saw the man's comical behavior and shook his head:
"It's fine, I'm used to this."
He found it weird that they didn't ask Hyue to sit but he didn't voice out his opinion and just remained standing next to her while the rest enjoyed a hearty breakfast.
Mina got rid of her embarra.s.sment around Angelica and happily conversed with the latter. Her cute behavior even made the usually stern-looking Theodore laugh.
