When Bin woke up, he felt his body was no longer heavy but still felt exhausted. He didn't know how long did he sleep but the bed he was on was surely comfortable.

The cus.h.i.+on was wide and soft while the mattress was heavenly, at least compared to the hard floor he sleeps on in the apartment. He was sweating a bit and beside him was Mina, who was soundlessly sleeping with her head on the bed and her body sitting on a big chair. Upon gazing around, he found this place unfamiliar but after some thought, he, more or less, guessed where he is.

Although it's the first time he saw this room, its decoration was luxurious and strongly resembled the one found in Jasmine's home.

He started remembering bits and bits of what happened before he fell unconscious. He remembered looking for Mina then a car blocking his way. He also that girl's figure then everything blacked out.

........

Twelve hours prior to that moment, just when Bin fell unconscious. The first one to freak out was his sister, who thought he died. With a tear-soaked face, she held him and kept shouting loudly. Only when Jasmine comforted her and told her he was merely unconscious did the little girl finally calm down but she absolutely refused to leave her brother's side.

Jasmine was shocked to see Bin fall so suddenly like that. At first, she thought he was acting but that was a foolish thought as he remained motionless as if he's dead.

The first person to check his condition was the driver, who was a seasoned soldier who already retired. He checked Bin's pulse than his temperature only to find it higher than the norm. He seemed to have a cold, or so thought the soldier. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case.

"He has a cold."

Bin was swiftly brought to the mansion and put in one of the empty rooms. The personal doctor of the family was called to examine his condition. As he was inspecting the young man, only Jasmine, Mina, and Hyue were present.

"Since when is your brother sick?"

Jasmine tried asking the silent Mina only to be ignored. Mina didn't answer any of the girl's questions and focused her attention on her unconscious brother, who was sweating profusely and had a pale face.

The doctor only examined his chest so he didn't notice the black marks on his thigh or arm. After carefully inspecting his patient, the doctor put down his gla.s.ses and left the room along with the two ladies, leaving Mina alone.

"Uncle Gu, what's wrong with him?"

"Hahahaha it's nothing but a cold. He just needs a good rest and some medicine, nothing to worry about."

Upon hearing this, Jasmine breathed a sigh of relief but the maid frowned yet didn't voice her thoughts. A cold in the middle of summer is rare, especially when nothing special happened. She just saw him yesterday and despite his poor mental state, he was physically alright, to say the least.

Jasmine's family was incredibly rich so they didn't lack any kind of medicine. The necessary medication was brought next to Bin but wasn't fed to him. After all, they couldn't force-feed him when he's sleeping.

Just outside the mansion, Doctor Gu, who just examined Bin, wiped some sweat off his forehead after he entered his car. It took him a great deal of effort to lie to Jasmine. Fortunately, she believed him so he didn't have to come up with more lies.

This old man was had been a doctor for more than twenty-five years and had a good relations.h.i.+p with Doctor Galen. He knew that his close friend only had one patient who was a young man but never knew the patient's illness.

Now he got to see this patient for himself and see what's wrong with the kid. To be honest, he had a few hunches but wasn't sure of them. The young man's condition wasn't an illness like all others and the reason he was able to know Bin's ident.i.ty was because of his pulse.

A few years ago, Galen asked him a very weird question which stuck in his head since then.

'A human without a heart cannot live then how about a human without a body?'

Only now did Gu understand this question. After seeing the state of Bin's body, if it can be called that. It was a total mess, any person with such a body would have died a long time ago. The body parts weren't working in harmony, the nervous system was all over the place, sometimes responding and sometimes not. The bones were softer than b.u.t.ter yet they didn't break and the blood vessels were inflated.

Doctor Gu was only able to see this much thanks to an ability that most competent doctors have. It's called 'Medical Eye' and it allows him to see the problems inside a patient's body. It wasn't that detailed but it was extremely useful as it allowed him to rise to his current position.

...

Back inside the mansion, precisely where Bin was resting, Jasmine was accompanying Mina as the two of them silently gazed at the unconscious Bin.

Despite her love for chocolates and sweets, Mina ignored everything Jasmine presented to her and sat next to her brother, waiting for him to wake up.

Unlike the others, she knew he was terribly sick but she never thought he'll die so soon which why she freaked out so much when he suddenly fell unconscious.

Just like that, twelve hours have pa.s.sed yet the little girl ate naught. Jasmine repeatedly told her to rest a bit or eat yet Mina kept shaking her head and ended up driving her brother's master out of the room.

......

Bin's sudden movement caused the sleeping Mina to lazily raise her head and rub her eyes. The sleepy and half-closed eyes were fully open when she saw Bin fully awake. Her pupils contracted and her she even forgot her breath.

Full of happiness and delight, the little girl jumped in his arms while crying. Very soon, his chest was wet from her tears.

Bin could do nothing but caress her head and wait for her to stop crying. He knew she must have been terribly worried about him and that he's her only family so it's normal for her to react like this

"I knew not that my sister was such crybaby, hahahaha"

When Mina stopped crying, Bin teased her while pulling cheeks thus making the girl pout and turn her head as if she was angry.

"Big brother, it's all your fault for making me worry!"

Bin innocently raised both of his hand and said

"I'm fine, see?"

He moved his body to show her he's in perfect condition. He even started tickling her, which transformed the sad atmosphere into a joyous one. Bin only stopped when Mina's stomach started growling from hunger, so did his, by the way.

Both instinctively turned their head toward the various dishes not far away from them. Their eyes flashed with an evil glint as they looked at each other and smirked. You'll have to be an idiot to miss such a golden opportunity.

In merely five minutes, the two of them gulped down the contents of all the dishes, leaving them clean and s.h.i.+ny.
