Arc1:the oppressed Chapter2 the hero summoning
My eyes flickered open as my consciousness returned. I was already standing, an old man visible in front of me. He wore a clean brown robe with a white beard. Opposite him, was a beautiful girl with glossy blonde hair and porcelain like skin, who stood in a pure white dress. They seemed to almost bounce in excitement, repeating the same word over and over.
“Success.”
Set further back between the two, was a throne. A red cloth, embroidered with a golden fringe adorned where an arrogant looking man sat, his golden beard matched the hair on his head as he looked in my direction.
“Albert, your efforts have been rewarded.”
“Guu~, I am unworthy of such words.”
The old man bowed as he wiped away tears.
“Well done, Albert.”
That's when I heard a voice seething with anger.
“What are you talking about!?”
Looking behind me, it was none other than Saeki standing there. But it wasn't just him, my entire year two cla.s.s was gathered there.
“What are you talking about? Demons, war, you're ruining our lunch break, no as a matter of fact, this is kidnapping. Do you understand what you've done?”
This place seems to be an RPG like throne room.
Supporting struts lined the room, in front of each stood a guard dressed in silver armor equipped with a spear. It looked quite fancy.
“Hero summoning? Don't mess with me, let us go now!”
Saiki was yelling at the man seated in the throne. It seems there had been some kind of talk while my mind was wondering but, why is he mad?
“You dare be rude to the king?”
A number of guards surrounded Saeki lowering their spears at him. Seeing this Saeki's face cramped in fear as Kida trembled behind him.
“It's fine.”
At the king's command the guards raised their spears and returned to their original positions.
“We have been throwing ourselves into the war for a long time now, however the war still continues as the demons magic is incredibly strong. Fortunately, until now we've had the power to hold them off, but our numbers are continuing to fall. As such, we performed the hero summoning; for has been written, that those summoned receive G.o.d's blessing and through grace receive powerful abilities. So I ask you, will you lend us your strength?”
“….Send us home.”
“I regret to inform you, that it is not possible to send back those that have been summoned. Your only choice is to begin a new life here.”
“It's not that we can't go home right, you're just trying to make a fool out of me.”
According to Saeki, it seems we've all been kidnapped. Furthermore, we've been brought to a parallel world.
Towards Saeki who glared at him angrily the king quietly raised his palm. In response to such a strange action Saeki wrinkled his eyebrows continuing to glare at the king. The king spoke softly however his words were drowned out by Saeki.
“I'll say it more clearly-“
A blue light s.h.i.+ne out from the king's palm. In the next instant the air vibrated as a blue sphere flew from the king's palm. One moment it was flying towards us, in the next there was a small explosion at Saeki's feet.
Saeki stared down in fear, there was a torch mark there the smell of something burning radiating out from it.
“My apologies this, is magic. It's difficult to explain to those who don't believe, so please forgive such a forward display.”
The king spoke quietly with a gentle expression.
“By the way, what is your name?”
“Saeki”
Saeki gave his name in fear. The king began to talking about his kingdom as tho addressing Saeki. Listening to the story excited me, a parallel world, magic, other races-.
“What are you talking about? Just say it already!”
That doesn't however seem to be the case for Saeki. Although cowed before the king's magic, he seems to have returned to normal.
“You're story is too long!”
At those words one of the other students intervened.
“Saeki”
“What?”
“I apologise uhm…your majesty. Let me talk with him for a moment.”
Ichijo Yukimura.
A handsome guy with a rose colored school life, always surrounded by girls. What does someone with such a satisfying life intend to do?
“Saeki, we are surrounded by guards with pointy objects. The king could have them kill us at any moment. So in other words, shut up.”
Girls clung to Ichijo's arms on either side of him. Their names were Majima and Kihara, each of them making goo-goo eyes in Ichijo's direction.
“Right~, Saeki, you can't read the air at all.”
Clinging to arm on the right side was Majima Kyouka, she had sunkissed skin with brown hair gathered behind her head and a pink sweater tied around her waist.
“Yeah, why don't you shut up for a bit.”
On the left, Kihara Madoka. White skin and bleached blonde hair with the same pink sweater tied around her waist.
“Have you finished?”
“My apologies” Ichijo said bowing as Saeki turned away sulking.
“It may be wrong of me but I ask that you save us from the demons. We have everything you may need here, food, clothes, a place to sleep, etc. However if you leave the country, its unknown territory. You're not ready for that.”
It's possible to enjoy a safe, fun and relaxing life in another world here. The king just said as much.
“According to the literature, the summoned hero's will have no knowledge of this world. If that's true, then there is no safer place than here.”
At that the beautiful golden haired girl, the white haired old man, and the king all turned to us.
“Hero's, we ask that you help this world.”
With a sorrowful expression the king lowered his head to us.
“You must be joking, we're highschoolers.”
Not able to keep his mouth shut for more than a few moments, Saeki scoffed at their words.
“This is no joke. What we performed was no ordinary summoning magic.”
“A hero summoning?”
The king nodded at Saeki's question.
Although angry Saeki seemed to be listening to the king.
“Although I've said it before, those called by the hero summoning are blessed with great abilities and advanced jobs. Furthermore, should you possess the job of “I will explain from here.” The beautiful girl standing to the left of the king stepped forward. Her name seemed to be Aries, she began to explain in place of the king. For a moment her beautiful plump body nearly stole my heart, but I averted my gaze barely managing to keep my thoughts from wandering. “First let's check your status' and take a look at the [occupation] column.” “Right, how do we check our status exactly?” Ichigo asks this as the girls on either side turn their heads to look at each other. “First, please say ‘status' then it should appear in front of you.” With such a simple explanation, everyone's voices rang out at the same time. Their status' appeared before then and the moved to check their [occupation]. “Aries, would you mind taking a look at this?” A voice called out separate from the others. It was of course Saeki. Oddly, instead of the arrogant att.i.tude he had earlier, Saeki was being quite polite. Although he did have a large smile on face. As Aries moved to look at the status, the look on her face said she'd rather be doing anything else. “This, this is-“ Her voice rose gleefully. “Your majesty! Saeki's occupation is Wiseman! He's also got the advanced fire magic [Crus.h.i.+ng Blaze]. Both the king and Albert became excited at this news. “Hero! It's a hero!” Excitement spread through the hall and at the center of it all, was Ichijo. “His status is incredible! He's got unique magic, not to mention unique skills!” The strength slowly leaves my body. The blessed have received even more blessings, this world is cruel and unreasonable. But, even if I'm jealous there's no helping it. The hero has been decided as Ichijo. It's my turn next. Even if I'm not a hero I hope to be either a safe like Saeki or some other strong occupation. “Status” If I say that, everyone else seemed to understand it fairly normally. I shouldn't have any issues understanding it. I thought it might be possible that I wouldn't be able to read it. However, when the status appeared, the reality was projected before me. I began to feel nauseous. The blessing that was given to me, was
