In the shade by the corridor, looking at the fl.u.s.tered Mr. Liu, Hagan pieced together the conversed replies on the other end of the phone by the helpless tirade of Mr. Liu.

The only thought in the young man's mind is the complete surrender of his everything in exchange for a fighting chance. Even at the cost of death, he wishes to chase life for the barely alive Mrs Brockman.

The sight of the weak pulse of his mom hardens his fleshy heart. The disheartening sight snaps something deep inside of Hagan.

He walks back to Mr. Liu begging to the person on the other end of the phone. Insanity creeps into his soul, the eyes of him slowly become deranged, he pulls the phone from Mr. Liu.
