"Here, you tell me, after glancing over it," laughing awkwardly, Ludos once again pa.s.sed the poster to Rais while they sped westward.

"Alright and right, Is it written in G.o.d's language?" Rais wanted to say, I told you so, without embarra.s.sing Ludos any further.

"You were right, I need to learn the d.a.m.n G.o.ds' language before learning any martial art."

"Well, my friend, you walk before you run, considering almost every martial arts manuals are written this way," Rais stated while unrolling the poster, though he suddenly halted. Hooking his ankles to a brunch, Rais hung upside down, staring at the bold golden t.i.tle, "Throne Restores?"

"Too good to be true?" Ludos hung next to him.

"Maybe, are you sure this is genuine, I doubt The throne Restorers have any more b.a.l.l.s left to step on northern Ranatelia."

"I a.s.sumed they were the only one who did?"

"They had them, unfortunately, though they lost the first after the grave offense of constructing a Zarieun temple, by the forest. Furthermore, the totally wasted the second orb backing the Magic Council at extracting the absolute ability of the young monk."

"You mean those vines that constantly intruded through the temple floor."

"Those vines signify the primary omen of total destruction," Rais confirmed peering deep into the forest.

"Still, few warriors had indeed come from the western headquarters of the Throne Restorers, considering they had the badge and the ceremonial armor as proof."

"Strange, no major power wishes to cross their paths with the forest." Dropping to the ground, Rais once again began running westward.

Slightly confused Ludos glanced towards Rais, "You seem to hold much knowledge of Wooden s.h.i.+eld of Ranatelia, why is a mere forest so ominous?"

"Remarking the tellings of the ancients, it is hard to traverse the worlds, yet harder to cross an inch of the Szronix's Little Garden. When the forest decides to expand, it will expand, until the world is swallowed."

"Why do you think there are no permanent nontribal statements here? It is because everything here has a limited lifespan unless they are accepted by the forest. The Moon Island and Storms Eye don't care if their slaves escape here. Since the escapees, already doing their slaving here by reconstructing the city over and over again."

"Szronix wanted this world to be desolate, yet at his absence, G.o.d Zarieun revitalized it."

"My first time hearing someone calling it Szronix Little Garden, Is it not Wooden s.h.i.+eld of Ranatelia?"

"The forest only bore that name after the last major war against the demons, five hundred years ago, before that mortals called it Szornix Little Garden."

"I always desired to explore into deeper parts of the forest, but it's impossible unless someone is accepted by it. Would it not be great if we were accepted within like Asnia," Ludos expressed his yearning gazing toward the deep forest.

"Only the ancient tribes that existed ere the Age of G.o.ds stand within, accepted by the forest. These ancient tribes lived in the ancient northern plain of Ranatelia before the starving lush submerged it, forever."

"All hope not lost, there exists a way to enter it. If an ancient tribe member willingly invites a person, they will be able to enter, though they can't invite anyone back. I asked Asnia; however, she said it was a taboo from her tribe. The sole way she can invite me is if I am willing to be part of her tribe."

"There's more to it, right? What's the catch?"

"She stated the requirement of marriage into her tribe if I wanted an invitation into the forest."

Ludos and Rais laughed for a long time," so that was what all that was about."

"That sums it up, it was her sister Mursina's idea. She even went to my house to seek my mother, though she returned without stepping into the yard."

"We can ask them again and see what they say."

"Definitely something not good, still won't hurt to try," Rais unconsciously sped up.

"We wait for our chance," Rais glanced back, "if it ever comes."

Noticing that Ludos fell behind, Rais slowed down facing him.

Seeing Rais's speed Ludos felt happy for him, though the fear of being left behind weighed his heart. His weakness, the inability to read a sword manual he found led him to Rais. They became friends, now his inability caused him to fall behind. He felt afraid; he wanted to leave this s.h.i.+thole of a place, to the greater world.

From a slight sting, Rais stared at his shoulder, reminded of the statement made by the undersea, incorporeal monster. Since he didn't want his mother to worry, he kept it to himself.

"Ludos! We will make it out. If for some reason I don't make it out, leave on your own."

"Ha? Why do you say that?"

"It's because I don't belong here."

Among the towering trees, two of them resembled tiny frogs hopping in between. Cloud umbrella mounted by the piercing tree, invited the twilight shade of the evening. On the forest carpet, the colorful grave of the autumnal leaves submerged their knees. Occasionally twinkle of light arose, from shrubs ere saying goodbye.

Standing next to an immense tree, Rais retrieved a reddish wooden sword from within it. Moving closer to the bulging roots, Rias only reached a quarter of its height. Behind them, a gigantic barrier fortified the city, separating it from the primeval forest. The harsh wind it generated forced them to move backward.

Glancing to the other side, they observed hundreds of gigantic skeletons of great demonic beasts, wrapped around in thick vines and crystallized mana. Their beast's core still intact, these remnants symbolize the previous major war.

Stepping away from roots, Rais played with the sword with one hand while finally reading through the poster.

"Next time you will read on your own."

"If I am still unable to, I will ask my sister; I noticed her practicing."

"This poster delivers excellent news since Restores regularly want to monitor for talents around the northern port cities. If they deem an individual talented enough, they will transport them to the Grand Festive of the western coast."

"How come, I doubt are desperate for talents."

"Throne Restores are no pushovers. Even if they are desperate, why would they need people from here? It even highlights if a candidate displays any potential first time they will be provided with resources for a better chance following events. The navel division s.h.i.+p to travel, this reduces the travel time from six months to just a few days."

"Now I need to wait six more years before partic.i.p.ating in the Grand Festive."

Rais nodded his head, although he needed to wait six months longer, "We can start partic.i.p.ating from fourteen until we are twenty-eight years old."

Although puzzled as to why Throne Restorers were being so generous, Rais had a feeling that he would find the answer quite soon. Finally, they arrived next to a pond, where they usually played with other kids. From fallen leaves, the closed water had turned blood red.

"When I left to look for you, I saw Asnia with the others."

"I think they just left the place."

Walking north, they arrived near the ocean, they noticed thousands of people standing around the coast staring towards the water. When Rais came near the seash.o.r.e, he witnessed an unpleasant and inhumane scene. This made him realize why the Throne Restorers were being so eager to recruit people from here.
