The red flare of evening sun aligned with the western horizon as it slowly submerged within the slight waves of the vast expansive ocean. A gentle heavenly light began creeping in from the lifeless, eternal void; the mortal realm grew closer to the spirit realm.

Luminous rays of cyan light flashed from eastern skies towards the distant west. The world became ghost silent in honor of G.o.ddess Illipra and bells started ringing in temples of G.o.d Zarieun. Mortals and fierce beasts quickly turned for their natural habitat, abandoning their workloads for the day.

After the sun submerged, curtains of darkness started to descend from the infinite void. The force of anti-magic became the strongest of the day. Light yang energy became suppressed, as dark curtains of yin energy descended on the world. Five different colors of crescent glowed above illipra, illuminating the vast lands and mighty oceans with faint gleams of colorful lights.

At that time a screeching sound echoed through the air, seeming as if someone furiously held on to the vacant air while it cracked like condensed crystal. The harsh echo died down as a figure of a woman came close to the ground, shooting towards a gigantic tree. As she got closer, she turned her back to protect something precious in her hands.

Although the woman tried to alter her path with her will, she didn't have enough power to do such thus, her back collided against the towering tree. Immediately after the collision, she stood up to gaze at the preciousness, on her hands, wrapped around white cloth. Blood dripped down from her forehead and trickled in from her hand, turning half of the cloth scarlet. Moreover, water droplets rained down from the wet towering canopy as birds flew, branching in every direction.

Although her body, covered with wounds, only a few grazes seemed fresh, she walked out completely unharmed, as she moved away from the tree. Observing her surroundings, with her haunting eyes, she noticed towering trees that pierced through the air and their leafy canopies s.h.i.+elded any lights from reaching the muddy ground. Despite the absence of moonlight, there was no lack of lights since a particular shrub glowed with dim, delicate light, while alone, yet ethereal when together. From within these shrubs, occasionally tiny pockets of lights escaped into the atmosphere, similar to a sea of fireflies when looked from a distance.

Although alerted by the intense sound at first, smelling blood, they halted. The hungry predators, to gaze at her, maintaining a safe distance, then to run away in terror. A vast area cleared, deprived of any movement. Unbothered, the woman stepped toward few lash green herbs and greenish golden vines encircling few trees, then she walked farther to the front to approach many similar shrubs. Seeing the increase in number, made her confident she was going in the right direction.

The trees started becoming smaller, though the jungle became denser. Drizzles of rain began falling from the fast-moving clouds. Cool breeze collided on her face; It seems it rained hard in the nearby area. Once she stepped out of the forest as rays of blue light came through the opening of the clouds. The blue light from Rup, the largest of the moons reflected on her blood-stained silver armor.

A painting of mad enlightenment, dried blood stains spattered all over her armor; accompanied by lines of rugged textures of sharp and blunt weapons. A golden arrow pierced through her left pauldron near the joint of her shoulder. Holding the white cloths with one hand, she used her other hand to pull out the arrow. Blood started dripping from the wound, but it became frozen before any drop fell to the ground, bursting through the air. She could barely walk, but she did not stop for a breath and kept walking out of the forest.

Few faint rays of lights s.h.i.+ned in the distance. Following it, she reached a rundown town and banged on a wooden door. A short middle-aged woman opened the door, and she became startled, almost closing the door until she saw a tiny baby of less than a year in her arms. She looked at her terrible state and became slightly sympathetic.

"Little angel, you need to see a physician or alchemist."

"Thank you, little aunt. I just want to rent that house across the yard; I don't think anyone is living there."

Seeing the unsightly state of the mom and baby, the woman ran back into the house to bring a rusted iron key. She walked into the mud without any footwear. She carefully stepped over the greenish slippery yard as her fingers stubbed into the mud, prevent her from falling. She opened the door of the small wavy tin house. The smell of old wet clothes flowed out of the door. Tin rusted all over from within and dust permeated through the air. Within the place, there was a small bed on the front and a table on the corner.

Within the darkroom, hang a lantern from the ceiling. The middle-aged woman walked in grabbed a white cloth from an old trunk, spreading it over the bed. The young woman bent herself through the small door and placed the boy on the bed. The boy slept within some transparent, solidified materials. The woman touched the material. It slowly turned into liquids and then seamlessly merged with the air. Like his mother, the little boy was hurt. There was a little cut on his right shoulder, and he looked unconscious.

The middle-aged woman walked toward the door and closed it. Two iron hook was attached on each side of the door. The woman picked up a rectangular wooden bar and placed it between the hook to keep the door closed.

The young woman placed a bright glowing stone within the gla.s.s chimney of the lantern. It lit up the room to every corner. She sat against the wooden log holding the house together. She coughed and blood fell on her hand. She put her hands together red magic circle formed around her. She looked out of the world as her long dark brown hair started floating. The glowing lights of energy entered the boy's body from the magic circle. The young woman became extremely exhausted. Her eye started to blink from extreme exhaustion. her thoughts ran wild. She didn't know what to do as she has lost everything important to her. Her head started to have waves of pain run through it. Her eyes became watery. She started thinking of transpired event and it put her in a horrible state. Her body started to heat up and the loss of light from the magic circle almost aged her by seven to eight years.

The middle-aged woman held on to her preventing her from falling down. The life energy from the magic spell slowly entered the boy body and it became faster and all the energy around funneled in towards him. He slowly opened his eyes. He looked around the unknown place. A look of confusion could be seen on his delicate face.

A look of relief appeared on woman face a drop of water from her eyes fell on the little boy's face.

"Owh uh"

The baby touched his mother's nose to receive her love. His mother wiped away her tears and pinched the tiny mole on his left cheek. He tried to grab his mother's cheek with his both hand and hurt himself in the process.

His mom placed a red pendant around his neck. The baby became sleepy and his mother lost consciousness from extreme exhaustion next to him. The woman on the side became emotional from the miraculous event. Water slowly ran down her cheeks as she stood there for a very long time.

Outside large drops of rain started falling. The contract between the tin roof became louder and louder. The wind brought the rain faster and created heavenly sound within. It as if the heavens were playing music for them.

[sound of heavy rain on the tin roof] and occasional [long slow cracking of thunder]
