"sigh"
That didn't mean that he wasn't feeling anything. The treatment he received so far wasn't really good, especially from Richard. That man was just making his life difficult. He raised his head and looked around. The night was silent, there were no sounds at all. That wasn't strange since the aura which Richard and the girls released was just this strong. All the animals and insects would be scared away anyway.
Seth started to think about the spar he had with Erin earlier. She had a talent for this. The awkward moves from their first fight weren't there anymore. She was more natural now. He unconsciously s.h.i.+vered. How was she so good at learning these things? In his eyes, she wasn't a genius. She was a true monster, which grew at an unimaginable speed.
As he was deep in his thoughts, the night slowly faded away. The first rays of dawn enveloped the forest. Though the vision improved a bit, the thick fog still restricted the visibility.
*Shua*
Richard suddenly appeared next to Seth, looking in the direction they came from. Seth jumped up from his spot and almost shot out loud, only to be glared at by Richard. He s.h.i.+vered and gulped, managing to suppress his yell. Those eyes of Richard were just too scary. Seth was sure that if he had yelled at that moment, Richard would have attacked him. The reason for that was simple, Erin was still sleeping. Even Seth could see that Richard had feelings for her.
"Uninvited guests, huh? That aura... HUMP." Richard disappeared into the forest. Seth looked at the spot where he disappeared and couldn't understand what was going on. Were there enemies in that direction? From Richard's words, that was possible. He thought about waking up the girls to warn them, but after remembering the gaze from a moment back, he just shook his head and sighed, once again sitting down on the ground.
'I gave you a chance and decided to let you go the last time. Now you are following us? It's still too early for Erin to fight with you. Your life will end here. It's a pity because you would have been a good stepping stone for Erin.' Richard thought as he charged through the forest. He could feel Alfred's aura. He could even feel Henry's aura, which was so familiar to him. A killing intent rose from the depths of his soul. It was those people's mistake that they were following them. Now they would have to l die and Richard would l have his revenge for the attack against the castle.
The humans were now closing on to Richard. As they moved forward, Alfred and Henry suddenly stopped, halting the knights behind them. They both s.h.i.+vered and looked at one another. Richard wasn't hiding his presence this time, so they could feel him. He was coming closer and closer to them. Alfred widened his eyes, panicked. He was ready to turn around and run. At this moment, Henry stepped forward.
"Don't worry, this time I am prepared." Henry took out the crystal from his pouch. Alfred gulped as he saw that crystal. He relaxed a bit and a slight smile crossed his face. With that crystal, there was no way the Demon Lord would be able to hurt them. Now he antic.i.p.ated the arrival of Richard.
Not long later, the surrounding dimmed. A powerful pressure came down on all of them. The Knights' eyes widened. They unsheathed their swords and moved information, ready to intercept the enemy. That showed just how trained they were. Even against such a strong aura, they didn't waver.
"O mighty and merciful G.o.ddess, protect your children from the demons. Let the light prevail against the darkness. Help us overcome the enemy in front of us."
Henry started chanting as soon as this aura crashed at them. Prayers and chants were whispered in succession. Henry's magic power flowed into the crystal. The crystal glowed more and more, releasing a golden light. At that moment, Richard's silhouette appeared in front of them.
"Show us the bright part and push the darkness away! SEAL!" Henry pointed the crystal in Richard's direction. The crystal shot forward like a meteor with unstoppable momentum and exploded in front of him. Magic power gushed out and swallowed Richard. His movements stopped and he froze on the spot. A golden light surrounded him and small wounds started to show on his skin. That crystal not only sealed the target, but it was also harmful to them.
Now Richard was unable to move. He was like a statue. His rage exploded even more and darkness started sipping out from his body. Although he was frozen, he could still use his power and try to resist. Even though he tried to destroy the seal, it was too powerful. The dark shadows were eliminated by the golden light from the crystal.
'I was too hasty, Richard admitted to himself. He had looked down upon the humans and underestimated them too much. That was the main reason for his current predicament. Erin's face came to his mind and he tried even harder to destroy the seal. The group before him was stronger than the girls. He was sure about that. If he didn't destroy the seal, Erin would be in trouble.
"Hahahahaha, look at the mighty Demon Lord. He is now sealed, what a joke!" Alfred mocked. He was really happy with this outcome. Even though they couldn't kill the Shadow Lord, he was at least sealed now.
"Let's move to our target and kill it. After that, we need to leave. I don't know how much time the seal can hold on." Henry was clear that Richard would escape sooner or later. Better if they moved fast and killed the other vampire. If Richard was here, that meant their target was special. That gave him even more reason to hasten and kill the other vampire.
After they killed it, they would need to escape. After all, Richard would come after them for sure. Their time was limited, so acting fast was the right choice. Even though Henry wanted to back off and escape back to the city, he knew that some risks must be taken for the greater good of the race.
Alfred looked at Henry and his face turned solemn. He nodded and rushed forward. The knights all followed them.
