Chapter 135: The Great Master's Day of Sufferings

"You two wait for me," Yu Xiaoxiao told her guards. 

While Xiao Zhuang settled on the wall, Xiao Wei jumped down after her and asked softly, "Princess, we're really going to make a move?"

"I'm not going to hit him," Yu Xiaoxiao replied.

Xiao Wei exhaled in relief. Junior Master Fenglin was still convalescencing, so they'd only incur more enmity if they knocked out another Eternal Life Temple monk. That was no good for Fengtian at all. Yu Xiaoxiao had no such concerns for nation or people as she soon flickered out of sight and reappeared in Beiyuan's corner.

Beiyuan remained calm after being caught and greeted her politely. However, his tone was mocking as he spoke. "Your Royal Highness, have you finished taking your medicine?"

"Impudence!" Xiao Wei berated him.

Beiyuan was nothing but scorn. "That's what Her Royal Highness said. Princess, this monk didn't mishear, right?"

"Yes," Yu Xiaoxiao replied. "I did want to take my medicine, but I discovered I forgot to bring them with me today." She finished feeling rather pleased with her lie. Looks like I just need to talk some more to get the hang of this. It's so simple!

Xiao Wei didn't dare to laugh in case he stole Her Royal Highness's thunder. Like Junior Master Fenglin, Beiyuan had never seen anyone as shameless as Yu Xiaoxiao before coming to Fengtian Country. Of course, the same went for the two wretches still sitting by his Junior Master's bedside! "Then, can Your Royal Highness return to see Junior Master with this monk now?" Beiyuan asked while suppressing his temper.

Yu Xiaoxiao grabbed for Beiyuan's collar, but he dodged out of the way and demanded, "Is Your Royal Highness planning to injure another victim?"

Yu Xiaoxiao was rather surprised that Beiyuan could evade her at all. Xiao Wei saw the monk reach for his waist and quickly unsheathed his own sword with a cy. "What are you doing?!"

At this, Xiao Zhuang unsheathed his weapon and jumped off the wall too. Beiyuan smiled coldly. He knew Yu Linglong was skilled in martial arts, but he wanted to see whether this Fengtian princess dared to attack him after Xianzong was already here to apologize for her crimes. Yu Xiaoxiao misunderstood Beiyuan's icy smile. As she saw it, he wanted to fight against them one on three. "I won't hit you," Yu Xiaoxiao told him. "I'll just escort you back to your Junior Master."

"What did you say?" Beiyuan demanded as he reached for the whip by his waist. 

Yu Xiaoxiao looked into the distance and wondered, "Why is there a woman over there?"

Safeguard Temple isn't even open to the public today, so how could there be a woman? Unconsciously, Beiyuan's gaze followed Yu Xiaoxiao's line of sight. 

"Child's play!" Yu Xiaoxiao smirked before moving with the same speed she used to hack zombies back in her world. Beiyuan was too distracted to react and was soon hauled up by his collar.

"You!" he glared at Yu Xiaoxiao.

Yu Xiaoxiao simply threw Beiyuan in the direction of Junior Master Fenglin's quarters. "It's you," she shot back.

Xiao Zhuang and Xiao Wei raised their heads to watch Beiyuan fly off like a meteor into the sky.

"Princess, that monk isn't going to die, right?" Xiao Zhuang asked.

"He can die if he likes. Let's go hunt for the kitchen," Yu Xiaoxiao replied.

With the monk out of the picture, neither guard had anything else to worry about, so they followed Yu Xiaoxiao to the northwest. Meanwhile, the "talks" with Junior Master Fenglin had already failed. State Preceptor Cheng Guan knew that Gu Xinglang's feet were injured and stood protectively by his side. Xianzong saw this and could only shut his eyes, privately admitting that he'd been pointless as an emperor while waiting for the angry monks to act up.

"Your Majesty!"

"Stop!" 

Gu Xinglang and Junior Master Fenglin exclaimed at the same time.

Meanwhile, cracks appeared beneath Beiyuan's body on the roof before he fell clear onto the floor of the bedroom. Seeing this, Xianzong went to pat his chest. Good, this monk is still breathing.

"Beiyuan?" Junior Master Fenglin grew dazed before he demanded, "What's happened to you?" He didn't need to think twice to know this was Yu Linglong's doing!

Beiyuan had an ashen face as he struggled amidst the pile of rubble on the ground. He tried to speak, but no sound came out. Everyone looked closely and saw a thin, slender piece of iron stuck through his throat, a truly harrowing sight.

Xianzong blinked. "Didn't Great Master Beiyuan go to look after Linglong? Why did he end up on the roof? Heheh, looks like you're still as a playful as a child, great master."

"Be quiet!" Junior Master Fenglin was about to lose his mind.

"Junior Master!" the other monks exclaimed when Xianzong didn't react.

Junior Master Fenglin spat up a mouthful of blood on the sheets. Gu Xinglang looked at him coldly and said, "Don't panic, Junior Master. Great Master Beiyuan hasn't stopped breathing yet, so it seems the iron piece didn't damage his lungs. He's certainly very lucky."

Xianzong added, "It's the blessing and protection of the Eternal Life Temple's Buddha, ah. Great Master Beiyuan, you can't be this naughty in the future. Climbing onto roofs is too dangerous."

"Who hurt you?" Junior Master Fenglin asked with blood staining his lips.

A monk brought Beiyuan brush and paper so he could write down the name of the culprit. Xianzong, Gu Xinglang, and State Preceptor Cheng Guan all stared at Beiyuan. The emperor had already prepared to deny it absolutely if the monk wrote down his daughter's name! 

But Beiyuan only looked at Junior Master Fenglin while making ahh ahh noises from his throat. The monk holding the brush and paper glanced at Beiyuan's hands before he said in desperation, "Junior Master, Beiyuan's fractured his fingers."

Beiyuan took this moment to lose consciousness and faint away. Because the slender stick of iron had pierced through his throat, it blocked all the blood from flowing out. Everyone could only see the injury and nothing else.

Xianzong looked at him and sighed internally. What "removed from the mortal realm" and "like a celestial being?" I should bring those love-addled admirers of the Junior Master here. The Eternal Life Temple's Junior Master was currently glaring red-eyed while blood trickled from his lips, his expression one of pure fury. Was this any Heavenly deity? At most, he was just a fresh young man with slightly sissy looks!

Used here, "great master" is 大师, a t.i.tle used to refer to monks.
