We drove somewhat like more than 30 minutes before stopping. We looked on the right and we were surprised that we had driven and somehow stopped in front of the archway of the abandoned house.

We all checked the time and found that it was already past 4 pm and dusk would soon ascend on this cursed piece of Land of A Thousand Smiles. Everyone looked at the guy who had accidentally knocked the offerings altar and his features still showed his worried and dark looking shadow. I looked closely at his forehand and saw that the personal light had nearly being diminished and this spelt trouble.

"p.o.r.nsak, his light is nearly gone out. This must be due to his over worrying of the time he knocked over the offerings altar in the way out. This is bad, right? Is there anything we could alleviate his situation right now? It seems that his diminis.h.i.+ng light is the cause of this unusual phenomenon. "

I tried not to hide the fact that one of the SPI team members had fumbled in the last minute and this brought disaster to the whole expedition team.

p.o.r.nsak reached for her phone and found that she had no reception at all and everyone flipped their phones to find that it was the same as well.

"Alright, be calm everyone. This situation is not as simple as it seems. It may be due to his mistake or some forces had used his foot to kick over the offerings altar earlier. We can't dispute any of this matters right now but there is one possibility. We need to get out of here or we would be stuck in time. "

"Stuck in time." I thought to myself as I myself had already been stuck in time, era and Dimension. I wonder if Max would suddenly appear and help us, but what could a 3d holographic image of a man do in this kind of situation?

"That's true, no one is to be blamed. We can only blame on the wandering playful spirits. Do you, p.o.r.nsak and HunNaa able to see those spirits with your third eyes earlier?"

The team leader of SPI spoke and I suddenly realised that I had not been able to use my third eye within that zone. I looked at p.o.r.nsak and still saw her crescent-shaped third Eye on her forehead. I pointed to my forehead and she just nodded.

"Frankly speaking, leader. We were not able to use the third Eye within that zone. As if it was a Web of magic miasma that prevents us from exercising our supernatural powers."

Upon hearing this, he let out a long sigh and began driving ahead again. This time they saw the pushcart vendor lady and stopped alongside her and disembarked. We all sat at her makes.h.i.+ft table and benches and ordered a round of pork tail noddle which we had ordered from her earlier during lunch time.

I say down opposite p.o.r.nsak and noticed that the surrounding area around us was slightly covered by a white mist which was not present earlier in the day. We dismissed it as some kind of pollutant from some burning rice husks and stalks as it was the harvesting season.

But the Mist that was enveloping the area did not smell like it was burning at all.

The more I looked at the pushcart vendor, the more I became sceptical of her. Usually, before she was jovial and talkative and when we had ordered the food from her, she walked as if she was nodding along and her feet somehow was bound. She looked a bit drab in her clothes now than before.

The pushcart vendor came to our table with her head bowed. She placed the 8 bowls of pigtail noddle and everyone fetched a bowl to their sides and started to tick in. I looked at the vendor lady and found something amiss and I held her frail hand as she was about to leave.

"Wait, Na... What year is this?" Some of the members were oblivious of my questions as they started to stuff mouthfuls of noddle in their mouth, munching and swallowing them.

The pushcart vendor lady just shook her head vigorously from left to right as if it would drop off from her shoulders if she continued that way and never stop soon.

"Answer me, Na. Who are you and what are you doing here? And where is the school across this field? You told us that you would leave by 3 pm but it is now 4 plus and yet you are here serving us meals. Do I think if you might be at this right moment of time?"

Soon, one by one stopped eating and placed their chopsticks beside the bowl. All eyes were on me now as though I had become delirious and seemed out of my mind. The only persons who hadn't touch the food were p.o.r.nsak and me.

I held on to the vendor's hand tightly and the veins bulged in my left while she continued to shake like a marionette that sells snow ice in the streets of Kaohsiung night Market. I never leave my gaze for a moment as I am about to confirm the being right before my eyes.

"Speak!" and as I shouted that I stood up, took my rusty nail from the back pocket and thrust it into the back of the vendor lady's left hand. The rusty nail penetrated her hand, a blackish liquid sprayed out and it penetrated the table midway. The vendor lady screamed in agony, looked at her hand, then at me, and then to the rest of them. Sprays of her saliva seemed to escape as she screamed with a wild wide-eyed look at the next thing that would fall on her.

Suddenly the noodles in the bowls all turned to a pile of maggots, worms and all those squirmy wriggly icky centipedes and those who had consumed that earlier immediately doubled over and retched what they had eaten! Out came their mouths, as green bile and parts of those vermin that had been partially ingested by them. Half bitten bodies, legs and other indescribable parts of the vermin exhaled from their mouths as they coughed and retched even their breakfast out.

Everyone was disgusted and kept retching up until there was nothing else to expel. Teary-eyed and with snot snivelling down their faces, they just wiped it with the fronts of their tee s.h.i.+rts or their sleeves.

"All of you get in the van, NOW!" I commanded as I held on to the nail with my right and raised my left hand above me and gathered up to integrate and fuse a deadly energy ball.

Everyone clamoured back to the van while looking backwards at me. I felt the swirling energy ball takes shape while the vendor lady was showing off her true form, wrinkly, skeleton-like limbs in haggard clothing while kept shaking and convulsing as if she would break into many pieces soon.

I felt the devastating power ball in my left hand as I stated coldly at the deformed old lady and with a single thrust, I shouted "Kamehameha!" and slammed the energy ball right into the being of the old wrinkly deformed old lady.

The energy ball slowly penetrated her body, and as it engulfed her, she screamed hysterically and then disintegrated in thin air. Only left of her was her twitching decapitated hand on the table that seemed to have a life on its own while trying to locate its owner.

I withdrew the nail and kicked the table so hard, it tilted over to one side and topple over. I cleaned the rusty nail against the front side of my jeans and place it back in the rear pocket of my jeans. Somehow, I noticed that once the old lady had since vanished, the weird misty Miasma soon slowly lifted.

I climbed into the van and gestured us to move on forward, as the sun was already setting and it's already shown past 5:15 pm.

However, after some minutes of driving, we found ourselves at the same spot where the archway was.

"You are not s.h.i.+tting on us right now, aren't you?" shouted one of the team member of SPI. The person who had the worried look had already turned ashen as he had a premonition that he would be the first victim of the lady in white as narrated by p.o.r.nsak.

He looked worried sick that he was trembling while hugging his body close to himself. In short, we called it scared s.h.i.+tless!

d.a.m.n! With the diminis.h.i.+ng fuel and lack of food and drinks, the only way was to scrounge the grounds immediately with the last few minutes of sunlight left.

"Go in reverse, see what we can find edible to eat to sustain us for the next morning," I said eventually and try to play for time. The driver reversed and soon we saw some banana and dwarf coconut plantations, dwarf mango trees as well as some patches of pineapples too. We scrambled over to them and grabbed as many bunches of bananas, a few bunched coconuts, some ripe mangoes and golden pineapples as we can and returned to the van.

To conserve the van's battery and fuel, it was immediately switched off. Only p.o.r.nsak and scared s.h.i.+tless stayed over to set up temporary lighting.

Luckily we had a handheld mini 5w spotlight and hooked up to an axillary battery pack. If it permits, the low consumption of this 5w spotlight would last till a few mornings and the van packed several axillary batteries as such and would be able to use in signalling for help.

There was a large tarpaulin at the back of the van and we opened the back door of the van while the sides remained closed. The tarpaulin was stretched across the back door extending its coverage area and the ends were ties with cables and supported by some rocks. It looked rather quickly setup but it served the purpose well.

At least the 2 ladies can sleep well inside later while the 6 of us are able to sleep outdoors. We break out the food ration accordingly and I reminiscing the exactly same moments in the second series before a group of us gathered food before embarking in search of Kagome in Exile Island.

One of the team members tore of some rags and dipped into the petrol tank and he gathered some dry woods around the area before lighting a small fire at the back of the van some distance away. At least the fire and smoke would ward off mosquitoes away.

"HunNaa, where are we actually? Would we be able to get out of here tomorrow? How come this force is greater than anything else and is able to manipulate a vehicle and 8 of us simultaneously?"

"In G.o.d's will, we definitely are able to get out this h.e.l.l hole soon. Now the only thing is to watch out backs and to not leave this place all by yourselves. At least we are evenly numbered and pair off as a buddy if you want to ease yourself."

I advised as part of the military training to always have a buddy system in unknown territories. This incident was also part of my memory when we were traversing in unknown terrain in Temburong Jungle in Brunei in one of the joint military exercises with the Gurkha Contingent Forces.

One of our guys forget to lock the compa.s.s and therefore we got lost in the middle of the jungle and only managed to get out of there after the jungle had claimed one of the cadet's life.

Temburong Jungle was a canopy type forest so basically, no heli birds can spot us and we were all greenhorn cadets and not even know how to light a d.a.m.n fire properly, much less to find water and edible fruits and nuts. We had learned our lesson and it is best we put it to good use in this era and Dimension.

Over in the distance towards the direction of the abandoned house, a dog's faint but consistent howling seemed to pierce the still night and everyone sat in a circle behind the back of the van, watching the crackling fires began to lose its flicker until someone piled some finger sized wood and small branches on it. The fire slowly caught on and ignited, giving a psychological warm feeling of security.
