Volume 6 Chapter 122 - Long Term Plan
The Frestech Chamber of Commerce was naturally not idle.
Developing the trade route on the endless seas between the Stantine Duchy and the Candra Empire, although it was a very important part of their future development plan, it was by far not the only thing the Frestech Chamber of Commerce needed.
It could even be said that in terms of the development plan in Xu Yi’s mind, it wasn’t even in the top three.
Because when it came to opening the markets of the two empires, comparing them, the Marlow Empire that didn’t have any conflict with the Frestech Chamber of Commerce and didn’t worry about letting the magic machine industry enter was much better than this side.
The Candra Empire was still debating whether they should buy agricultural magic machines from the Frestech Chamber of Commerce, while the Marlow Empire had already ordered their fifth batch of agricultural magic machines.
In the past half a year, the Marlow Empire’s department of agriculture had ordered over eighty five thousand units of agricultural magic machines, totaling over five million and seven hundred thousand gold coins.
At the same time, there were many orders from the citizens and the n.o.bles.
Although the order wasn’t as big as the department of agriculture, it was still growing at a shocking speed.
Before the fall harvest last year, including Marquis Southgate’s group of n.o.bles, there were only two thousand agricultural magic machines ordered. After this year’s spring harvest, this suddenly increased by twenty thousand units and the total went over two million gold coins.
Moreover, as the Marlow Empire began accepting the Frestech Chamber of Commerce’s agricultural magic machines more, there were more and more n.o.bles that were ordering them.
According to the Frestech Chamber of Commerce’s projections for the market, by the end of this year, this number would reach over fifty thousand units for a total of over four million gold coins.
If it was like this, the Frestech Chamber of Commerce just by selling agricultural magic machines in the Marlow Empire would have earned over ten million gold coins.
Even if the Frestech Chamber of Commerce took part of the transport cost which increased their overall cost, with the Frestech Chamber of Commerce’s high profit margins, they would be earning at least four million gold coins.
Other than the agricultural magic machines, the other household magic machines were quickly becoming popular in the Marlow Empire.
Now that summer was coming, just the orders of Magic Air Conditioners and Magic Refrigerators from the Marlow Empire already surpa.s.sed seven thousand units, reaching over two hundred thousand gold coins.
This figure was very small compared to the millions brought in from the agricultural magic machines, but this order only came from Marquis Southgate and the other n.o.bles that the Frestech Chamber of Commerce were close with.
During this time, the Frestech Chamber of Commerce’s office in the Marlow Empire had received news that once summer came, there would be a surge in orders.
Adding in the other household magic machines, the orders that would come from the Marlow Empire would be for at least two million gold coins.
Like this, the Frestech Chamber of Commerce had only started developing the Marlow Empire market in the second half of the year before last and now in less than two years, the Frestech Chamber of Commerce’s income from this market was over five million gold coins.
This was only with a small part of the Marlow Empire’s market. If they had developed the market like in the Lampuri Kingdom, the income that this large market would bring the Frestech Chamber of Commerce would be shocking.
The Frestech Chamber of Commerce had different plans for the different situations, but that was naturally because these were the two most important countries on the Sines Continent.
But it was still far from enough for Xu Yi’s goal of spreading the magic machine industry across the Sines Continent.
So other than the plans to develop in the two big empires, what Xu Yi cared about more was how to develop the other countries on the continent.
Several years ago, the Nozdormu Business Union Kingdom came to their door and the Frestech Chamber of Commerce created a sea route in the south. Other than linking up to the Nozdormu Business Union Kingdom, they also linked up to the other countries of the continent’s southeast corner.
After several years now, the Frestech Chamber of Commerce had already laid down solid foundations in the Nozdormu Business Union Kingdom. The magic machine industry brought by the Frestech Chamber of Commerce had already had serious effects on the Nozdormu Business Union Kingdom and the surrounding countries.
Last year, Narvil brought the Frestech Chamber of Commerce’s first transport fleet north of the Stantine Duchy, with the main goal of reaching the northern harbours in the Marlow Empire. However, they also linked up to several small countries along the way and successfully made these countries interested in magic machines.
According to the plan, next week, Narvil would be leading the first transport fleet to Stasom Harbour in the north again.
Other than transporting some goods to Stasom Harbour, Narvil’s more important task was to strengthen relations with these small countries along the way.
If everything went smoothly, Xu YI was very willing to build several small magic production bases in these small countries.
Other than this sea route, the Sack Kingdom had already reached a secret agreement with the Frestech Chamber of Commerce to open a land route on the Sack Kingdom’s west coast. It would allow the Frestech Chamber of Commerce to reach the Sack Kingdom’s west coast through the Black Rice Wasteland before going further to the Antila Kingdom to the north of the Sack Kingdom.
With a sea route and a land route, it allowed the Frestech Chamber of Commerce to easily contact the countries in the northwest corner of the continent.
Like this, based on the map, the only part that the Frestech Chamber of Commerce couldn’t easily contact were the countries in the northeast and the east part of the continent.
This was indeed a difficult problem for Xu Yi.
Because based on the map, there was no doubt that it was easier to enter these countries by land.
But they had to pa.s.s through the Candra Empire and with the Frestech Chamber of Commerce’s conflicts with the Candra Empire right now, that was not a realistic choice.
If they couldn’t go by land, they could only consider the sea route.
But if they chose the sea route, it would be equal to going around the Sines Continent, so it would also increase the time and cost a.s.sociated with this.
And with how far away it was, it could create a large hindrance to the Frestech Chamber of Commerce at any time.
Because it was hard to solve the problem with the Candra Empire and out of consideration of the long term, after thinking about it, Xu Yi had an idea. He would build bases for the Frestech Chamber of Commerce in these places, creating a clone, taking care of things that was too far for the Frestech Chamber of Commerce’s main base to handle.
If one changed their thoughts, it would be opening a branch…….
But it wasn’t easy to open a branch because first, you have to make sure that the branch could take care of itself and had to maintain the link between the branch and the main base, so that it could survive, grow stronger, and take on more responsibilities.
But with the Frestech Chamber of Commerce’s current strength, it wasn’t enough to support a branch that was over five thousand kilometers away from the main base.
So this involved something that was the most important and basic thing that needed to be changed on the continent for Xu Yi, as well as something that had to be solved first.
This thing was defined by its name because it was called “infrastructure”.
To Xu Yi, what hindered the development of the continent the most and what affected him in industrializing the continent, was that there was a lack in infrastructure on the continent.
Of course, it couldn’t be blamed on the continent because before Xu Yi transmigrated here, the continent was like a half feudal and half slave society like in earth’s history. Other than having magic that wasn’t found on earth, everything else was underdeveloped, so naturally there wouldn’t be any infrastructure.
After many years of planning from Xu Yi, as well as the hard work of the Amrit Chamber of Commerce, at least in terms of transport, the small countries including the Lampuri Kingdom, the Stantine Duchy, and the Rudson Kingdom had improved on this.
First was laying down the roads. Just the Lampuri Kingdom had over fifty thousand kilometers of road this year, so not only was each city connected, even each village was connected which was like a heaven shaking change.
Next was transportation.
As the Fresteech Chamber of Commerce’s Magic Sedan and other model Magic Cars became popular in the southwest countries, they had already replaced the traditional horse carriages.
Then with the increase in roads, wherever one went in those countries, they would no longer have to spend as much time as before and it was much more comfortable to travel now.
Because of how convenient the roads were, the people of these countries were more willing to leave home and go further, so there was more movement of people. This made it much easier for the Frestech Chamber of Commerce to recruit more people to enter the magic machine industry.
After years of development, the countries in the southwest corner had several centers of the magic machine industry.
Compared to the new regions in the two empires, these magic machine industrial areas were much more complete and mature.
According to Xu Yi’s plan, the magic machine industry would spread all over the continent in the future, touching the entire continent.
The key to achieving this, other than transportation was something just as important, which was communication.
