"Fufu. You're all here." Tinker chuckled in a tone of voice that was meant to make him sound sinister.
"Tinker." Corin almost spat the podgy man's name to the ground.
"Oh, if it isn't Lord Daddy's boys. How's that old goat of yours?" Tinker cackled.
His eyes l.u.s.ted over Darick as he approached him.
"My you have filled out to be the man I thought you'd be." He licked his fat lips suggestively.
"Back off you podgy freak face." Darick coolly warned the man.
Tinker let out another sinister cackle.
Swords were pointed closer to Corin and his party's view. He glanced around the all white uniform soldiers with their heads hidden behind the Vorn's trademark bra.s.s horn helmet. Their bodies were compacting all areas of escape too well. In order to move, they'd have to go through swords. The s.p.a.ce was too tight for his wind spells. It would be more harm than good to call upon one in such a s.p.a.ce. Nor could Azaria throw out a fire spell or Sierra and Luca evoke their air spells. Either would likely draw a sword to their chests. The one possibility was Darick's ice spells, but that too would likely stop their own hearts since s.p.a.ce was required to isolate the impact zone.
Tinker had the right to gloat, he had ensured the manpower to cut them off.
"So, what shall we do with you?" Tinker glanced to Hannah and grabbed at her waist to reel her in.
"Get off me!" She shouted that made Corin tense with an urge to slice the man's throat.
"Maybe I'll make love to your woman whilst you watch Lord Corin." He laughed and licked at Hannah's neck that made Corin and Sierra seething with inner rage.
Hannah bit the fat man's nose, drawing blood along his bridge. The hold on her eased, allowing her to return to Corin's side.
"b.i.t.c.h! Kill them all!" Tinker bellowed with rage.
The Vorn raised their swords to fulfil their orders. The walls glowed with an intense red from the symbols and floor began to tremor causing the soldiers to wobble about their feet and lose their aim.
WHO DARES DISTURB MY SLUMBER!
A voice boomed across the cavern, stirring greater tremors to knock everyone into each other. A fierce wind threw the Vorn into each other, some falling on drawn swords of their comrades. This created an opening for an escape, which Corin and his party seized without fail.
They pushed their way through the confused mob and found themselves sprinting and stumbling about a dark corridor lined with the same glowing red symbols.
Eventually the tremors stopped. Their plight led them into an enormous sepulchre where the ceiling ran into a formless height. At the center was a rectangular slab of stone with the same red symbols glowing all about its surface.
The party hung back to the stone walls as the top of the slab moved and slid to one side with a loud grinding noise. A man slowly rose from within.
He was extremely handsome and completely naked as he stood before them.
