He twisted around, grabbing his long daggers from his belt sheaths and double-slashed at the flicking black tail that was readying itself for another stab attack.
Viscous, greenish liquid spurted out of the gash wounds. Luca dropped and rolled out of the way of the flailing stinger. He narrowly avoided its whacking to the spot next to him.
Darick's voice carried in the air with a spell that detached the scorpi's deadly tail from its body and turning it into dust.
The scorpi gurgled out a bitter curse when Luca released an airborne spell that stirred up critter organisms from the lichen to ferociously eat away at the demon until it was nothing but dust. He quickly said a releasing spell to return the critters to their dormant state.
Tremors jerked their bodies. They turned and dodged another stinger attack, followed by a slashes and swipes from two scorpi's pincer arms.
An air spell was cast that suspended the deadly swipe attack in mid-air. Luca nodded his thanks to Sierra as he and Darick whacked the h.e.l.l out of the arms to smash them into pieces, causing the Scorpi to reel backwards into another strike attack.
"Eat steel freak!" Lilila shouted when she agilely raced around the scorpi's body with her blades nicking vital spots.
She joined the men's sides as they avoided the spurting liquid from the demon that fell down dead.
The three of them groaned when they found themselves faced with two more scorpi reinforcements.
Colin and Azaria approached the scorpi's backs with slash attacks and burn spells that caused the demons to rear backwards.
Azaria body-rolled through a scorpi's leg opening to reach his beloved's side. Colin stayed back with Hannah to ensure she was protected from the demon's attacks that was now on them.
"I'd say I'm happy to see you Hannah, but right now." Colin raised his longsword.
"I know." Hannah's blue eyes focused on the demon.
She calmed her mind and slowed her breathing to slow her racing heart. Drawing on her bloodline magic, she called upon a time spell to suspend the creature's advances.

Colin seized the opportunity to end the scorpi's life with skilful stab and slash attacks with his swords. He finished the job by calling upon a wind spell that turned the demon into dust.
Hannah dropped into his arms, suddenly weakened from the bloodline magic she had evoked.
They both stared at the advancing lone scorpi who was understandably maddened to a state of pure blood l.u.s.t.
Azaria seized the opportunity to look cool in front of his fiancé by calling upon a dragon fire spell that sent the scorpi demon shrieking in pain before becoming a pile of dust on the ground.
"Tasteless show off." Luca muttered under his breath.
"Hannah." Colin kissed his lover he held in his arms.
Hannah responded, feeling happy and relieved to see him. "I missed you."
She relaxed as his hold around her tightened. It felt good to be in his arms again.
Sierra frowned at the sight of the lovers embracing before her.
"You'll get wrinkles," Lilila offhandedly whispered. "You should know by now that loving that buxom chick is pointless. She's taken."
"Shut up." Sierra answered back, not wanting to hear the truth.
Why did these men have to be here? She was so close in being Hannah's knight in s.h.i.+ning armour.
"Still loving my brother's woman I see." Darick gave Sierra a condoling pat on the shoulder. "If you can win her heart away, I'll be impressed. Although, this is unlikely since both of them are loyalists."
"We had this situation in order." Sierra gritted her teeth at Darick's tease. "What compelled you guys to step in?"
"Come on Sierra. We return from my hunt, find the village razed to the ground and all our women and children missing. What'd you think we'd do?! Corin activated the Dragonieth because of it." Darick carefully answered back, so Azaria couldn't hear.
Sierra's frown eased into shock upon hearing the Rushkillzen being evoked. That was reckless and dangerous. "Okay. We'll talk about this later."
"Sierra." Corin soberly greeted the Seriph woman.
A sudden clamour entered the cavern to his back. He turned and sighed at the sight of Tinker and soldiers blocking off all entrances.
They were surrounded by armed Vorn with swords raised at their heads.
