The sounds of two swords are heard. In an esplanade next to the barracks, it is used for the guards, you cuold see two figures. One was a middle-aged man in leather clothes, while another was a young man in leather clothes.
The two people were none other than Aldarion and Gersten. It had been a week since Aldarion had gone to talk to Gersten for help. The Captain not only gave him a bag of coins as payment for his help with the bandits, but offered to train him. And that's what he's been doing during this week. Thanks to the help of Gersten, Aldarion learned to use the sword, acquiring the skill 'Wield Swords (F)' and also managed to increase his ability of 'Archery' to (E). Each time he became more accustomed to the use of these two weapons.
The two had been practicing for four hours since the morning started and they were exhausted. Although Gersten had more experience, age also made him tired before, so, you could clearly see that he was panting more.
In a moment, the two parted to observe each other, but as he leaned back Gersten, in a careless movement, stumbled. Aldarion was not going to waste this opportunity and launched for him. Gersten, trying to block him, raised his sword, but with the few remaining forces, when Aldarion's sword collided with his, it went flying, leaving him unarmed.
Gersten, with one knee on the ground and a sword pointed at his neck, looked up at Aldarion and smiled at him. "I think I have nothing more to teach you." Gersten said in a cheerful tone.
At that very moment, a warning of the system sounded. "Ding! The user has obtained the skill 'Wield Swords (E)'."
Aldarion was very happy. Although this week he had not got experience points to increase his level, he had managed to acquire skills so he had become stronger that was his goal. In fact, he felt confident in being able to embark on his journey.
Pulling the edge of his sword from Gersten's neck he told him. "I think we can stop for today, why do not we go wash ourselves? Then we could go relax in the tavern." Gersten nodded, indicating that he agreed. Then Aldarion continued saying. "Yes, it will be the best. Today we will relax, so tomorrow I can start my journey."
Even with a lower tone Gersten could hear him changing his face from a smiling to a completely serious. "So... have you already decided to leave?" He asked Aldarion. "I can not delay my trip anymore, I leave my home to live adventures and that would not be achieved by staying in Bree." The young man answered with a smile.
"I guess you're right. I hope you come back to visit me from time to time." Gersten said as he put on a resigned smile. The truth is that since they met they had started to get along and now Gersten was hard on the departure of his friend. "Of course!" Aldarion told him as he nodded energetically.
After this conversation the two left to clean themselves and then met in the tavern where they were drinking all day until they got tired and said goodbye to go to sleep.
....
The next day, Aldarion opened his eyes in his room. he was excited, but he had a headache due to hangover. Determined, he stretched and got up, went down to the tavern and ate his breakfast as he had been doing these last days.
When finished, he paid the waiter for the room and meals. When he did, he realized that he had a little money left in the bag they gave him as a reward. Sighing, he said goodbye to the waiter and left the Prancing Pony.
When he was about to cross Bree's west door, he heard a voice calling him. "Aldarion for I have to tell you something!" Of course, Aldarion knew who was perfectly and when the person approached him from behind Aldarion turned around and said with a tone of humor. "What's wrong Gersten? You do not want me to go?"
Gersten smiled when he heard him and said. "I know I can not stop you, but since I know you're going west, I thought you could do me a favor." After hearing him, Aldarion nodded, telling him to continue. "You will see, on the way to the Brandywine bridge, there is a farm. It is just north of the Barrow-downs. I have received a notice that a package must be sent to the owner of the farm. I was wondering if you could do it, since it did not deviate from your path."
At that moment a warning came from the system. "Ding! New mission detected 'Take a package to the farm'. Do you want to accept it?" The system told him.
A few days ago, Aldarion had started to plan his trip and even though he was tempted to explore the Barrow-downs he decided that it was very dangerous for his current level and he would have to leave it for another time. This decision cost him a lot because he knew that there were many treasures there and that he could find a better team, but the ghosts were too frightening, so he ended up resigning.
Therefore, the only way he had left, but wanted to make a big detour was to follow the road to Buckland and cross the bridge in the Brandywine.
Seeing that there was no problem, he mentally indicated to the system that he accepted the mission and told Gersten while nodding and taking the package. "There is no problem friend."
Gersten, happy, helped him to keep the package and wished him a good trip. Aldarion seeing that there was nothing more to do or say thanked him for everything, turned around and started walking towards his next adventure.
