And similarly one of the people in the final destination had started her day unusually early after another sleepless night. Sia decided to go to the hospital early rather than waste her time trying to fall asleep. She also had a certain destination on her mind and a certain person she absolutely wanted to talk to.
"I hope I didn't wake you up, Mr. Jason," Sia said a bit apologetically. It was after all early in the morning and the patients would be preferred to be sleeping now rather than overworking their brains.
"No worries. I also wanted to see you and to formally apologise for previously hurting you. After all, we haven't really talked after that incident."
Though he tried to talk amiably, Jason Herondale had subconsciously entered his business mode and was extremely careful in his speech. All the while, he was carefully observing all her expressions and actions, in hopes of learning her true att.i.tude towards the matter.
But, thankfully, Sia wasn't a petty person to hold grudges for past misunderstandings. Thus, noticing the uneasiness and the cautiousness in Mr. Jason's voice, Sia gave him one of her brightest smiles to dispel the tension that was building up in the room.
"Hey, Mr. Jason, have you forgotten that we decided to drop the formalities a long time ago."
The next moment she paused and pouted her lips, however, she failed to hide the mischievousness in her eyes, "don't tell me that after learning about my boyfriend you decided to distance yourself from me and revert back to formal relations," with a deep sigh she continued in a downhearted manner, "I guess it was only me who thought of the other as not only a patient but a true friend...I am reaaaa~lly sad"
Taking in all her small actions and expressions, Jason felt as if the heavy weight fell from his shoulders. He chuckled at her small act, but still did not forget about his true aim:
"I am happy to see you so, little girl. I truly am. But still, I have to apologise to you. I was wrong to treat you so." Coming from an old n.o.ble family, Jason decided to follow the traditions and show his sincerity by bowing to her. Which was why, he made an attempt to stand up but was immediately stopped by a panicking Sia.
"Mr Jason, please stop there. And... I will accept your apology if you accept mine," she bowed her head and continued, "I am the one who broke the code of confidentiality and shared a patient's information with a third party and there is no pardon for that. Still, I am selfish enough to hope that you will forgive me for my thoughtless mistake." Sia then straightened her back and looked straight into Jason's eyes with unconcealed eagerness, "In exchange, I promise to never make a mistake like this ever again, and try to become a better friend to you, Mr. Jason."
"You really are different, aren't you?," Jason chuckled lightly. "So many people would go to extremes to make me apologise, to make me owe them one, but here you are, straight away rejecting such an opportunity. How can I be so stupid as to let such a person go just because of a small mishap?"
"Does that mean you forgive me?" She realised his implied meaning, but wanted to make sure that her imagination was not playing tricks on her.
"Hahaha, of course I do. So hurry up and forgive me too," Jason gave a hearty laugh to the girl fidgeting in front of him. His heart filled with tenderness towards the young woman in front of him. It was only now that he realised that despite her being a genius, she was still a 22 year old girl who like everyone else had her moments of childishness and her moments of uneasiness and nervousness.
"Okay, then, as promised, I forgive you too," Sia chimed happily.
So the matter was closed and the next matter had to be up:
"I a.s.sume there is something else you want to talk to me about, right?"
Sia nodded her head and started to tell Jason all about her speculations. While she was carefully a.n.a.lysing the matter of 'Black Lily', its possible suspects and the gaps in the evidence, Jason was repeatedly nodding his head.
In actuality, he was once again impressed by her deep a.n.a.lysis, after all she had identified all the important as well as missing points in a matter of a day or two. And some of the information she had disclosed was of high security, which could only mean that she had already broken into their family database to hack all the information that they had painfully gathered for the past few years. Even his best hackers would probably not be as fast as her individually...
"That are exactly my worries. Honestly, Cain and you have guessed correctly that this mission was specifically designed for Cain, as even I can't move that stubborn Dragon. However, I never expected to 'buy one and get one for free'," he laughed at the thought. It was true that he never expected to lure the best hacker and get the second best as a pair.
Siana decided not to comment on his last statement and instead concentrated on the main issue at hand:
"So how do we continue from here on out?"
"Why would I give the mission to begin with if I knew how to go on from this standstill?" Jason shrugged his shoulders. "And even if I knew, if I gave you leads that would be considered as cheating," he said in a righteous way, however, was once again ignored by Sia.
"So, you basically have no clue what to do, huh. I guess we will have to work harder then."
Jason awkwardly cleared his throat, but didn't add anything, after all, she was right: He was stuck at this exact point and had no idea how to go on.

Sia left the room feeling both relieved and even more stressed. Though the misunderstanding with the head of Herondales was now solved, as she had previously suspected, the man himself didn't have any more confidential clues on the matter despite being in the centre of all those events.
'Just great. The case is even harder than we had initially estimated it to be.'
In deep thoughts she reached her office, went to her desk, sat and started rhythmically tapping her fingers in an attempt to organise her thoughts, all the while failing to notice the person sitting on the sofa and observing all her actions without even trying to hide his presence.
