Charles was offered a separate room, but he declined it.
Next to the bedside were three purple suitcases. They were filled with items that would get her by for the next couple weeks.
"Milady, do you need anything?"
Charles asked her as he looked around the room. He rubbed his index finger over the dresser top and looked at his white glove pick up specks of dust. He frowned and tried to rub the dust off.
"No, I'll settle for some rest."
Celia replied.
It was impossible to tell if Celia was woke or sleeping due to her eyes always being closed. While it may seem like she was sleeping on the bed, she was actually thinking about the guy she met today.
Some would ask how could she marry a guy she's never seen before? Or why would she do it?
Truthfully, she has seen him already he just did not seem to realize it yet.
Maybe he did, but did not ask her about it. If he asked her she would have told him.
Thinking about it now, she was the oldest in her family out of her three siblings. Yet she was the third to get engaged. The only good thing about it would be if things stayed on track, she would be the second to get married.
Celia started to wonder what her sister would think about her marrying someone five years younger.
Whatever, Celia let out a long sigh and all thoughts were cleansed.
With the arrival of their two new guests, Nick's mother almost forgot about the food she was cooking.
When Olivia went off to show the guest to the guest bedroom, Nick went into the kitchen. He opened the oven which was still on, and steam burst out from the inside. He could hear the sizzling of the bacon.
It was done, so he put on some mitts and grabbed the tray.
As for the rest of the food, Nick looked it over and he could tell it was cold. He was looking forward to a warm meal, not something cold.
He decided to grab some bread off the fridge and put it in the toaster.
"You're cooking?"
Nick's mother asked him as she came into the kitchen.
Nick turned around and pointed to the toaster.
"If you consider making toast cooking, then yeah."
"Shouldn't surprise me, you never liked making your own meals. I suggest you start learning how if you want a wife in the future."
His mother said as she shooed Nick to the side and started grabbing pans.
"Funny you say that, a blind wife? If I knew that…"
Olivia gave Nick a death stare causing him to stop talking.
Nick is use to his mother being the way she is because she's been like that for a long time. Also considering she could do everything on her own, he sometimes forgets shes crippled.
"She is not a bad woman, I think you two will make a fine pair. I'd like to see a grandchild in the next few years though."
"Mom… little too fast don't you think?"
Hearing her son say that causing Olivia to laugh. She was only joking, she was not too worried about grandchildren. They had plenty of time in the world for that.
"Oh! That reminds me, are you planning on going to visit her again this year? It is around that time."
Nick thought about it and nodded his head.
It's become somewhat of a tradition for him to go every year and visit her. Although he would be a day late back to the academy it should be fine.
"Why not take Celia with you? Might bring you two closer."
Olivia added.
"I don't know, I'll see. Not really a place I'd take a person for a date, just is not the right setting."
The toast popped up, causing the mood to change. Nick grabbed the toast and put it on a plate.
"You don't want anything else?"
Olivia asked him, seeing his plate with two pieces of bread and four pieces of bacon.
That was not considered a healthy meal for her, Nick should at least have a big breakfast. Especially since this was their first morning together after he came back. She was looking forward to making him something.
"Not really hungry anymore. I'll probably eat this and head out after I get dressed."
"Going out already are we? Don't tell me you have a date?"
Olivia questioned him.
It was strange for Nick to be leaving the house this early. She knew he trained later in the day but not now.
"Really? When do I have dates? That is not something I do much of."
Olivia gave a short laugh.
"Well, you do tomorrow. Take Celia to the mall, there is a new one that just opened up last week. I've been told young adults love it."
"Yeah sure, I don't have anything to do tomorrow."
Nick was going to say no, but his mother would find some way for him to agree. He'd save himself the trouble of hearing her ramble.
