Chapter 277 Was Ye Zhaojue Alive or Dead?
As the setting sun gradually fell, the sky was dyed red with some refulgent afterglow slipping over.
The scenery was quite beautiful and heart-stopping, but no one would stop or stay for it in such a border town, where people just came and went hurriedly, ranging from busy businessmen to solitary swordsmen who traveled all corners of the country.
Bai Aoxue slowly pushed open the window. She already wore a military uniform, and her jet-black hair was tied up high, which was different from ordinary women’s hair tied up by some hairpins. She just tied up it high without anything else.
Her face was cold with some beauty of the blurred gender. Her narrow and long phoenix-like eyes were sparkling with some mysterious and cold lights, which carried a terrible chill as the sun gradually fell.
Even at this moment, she was still a little bit stunned. She always believed that Luoyan was a trustworthy person. Or rather, Luoyan’s affection for her uncle seemed not to be deceptive at all.
But why did she still marry into the Chengxi Dynasty like this after hurting her uncle?
In fact, there were only two answers.
One was that everything Luoyan did was fake, and even she was deceived by Luoyan. But if so, what was Luoyan’s motivation?
She could not figure it out all the time. If Jun Wuhen wanted to harm her uncle, he could just give his order by saying some words, but why did he have to go through the twists and turns like this?
Unless Jun Wuhen had other plans or reasons.
The other one was that Luoyan was forced to do all these things. Perhaps, she had some unspeakable difficulties or reasons, which compelled her to discard her affection for Bai Aoxue’s uncle and marry into the Chengxi Dynasty like this.
But in any case, the indelible truth was that she hurt her uncle.
No matter what kind of difficulties and reasons or unspeakable secrets she had, she couldn’t tolerate anyone harming her uncle!
Clenching her fists tightly, Bai Aoxue watched the sunset fall entirely, and the night finally came.
The carnival of this border city started totally…
“Bang!” As the wooden door was pushed open, Bai Aoxue adjusted her emotions, turning to look at the person who came here.
“It’s almost time to start.” Jun Yeyan looked at Bai Aoxue, who was in black with her jet-black hair tied up high, making him obsessed for a while.
Her face blurred the gender, as cold as ice, and her phoenix-like eyes were deep-dark and nonluminous, as pitch-black as a moonless night sky, mysterious and dangerous.
The light lips were pursed slightly, with some stubbornness that was hard to be removed or to be tamed.
She was arrogant, lonely, and cold…
Ho… This was the woman he loved and was determined to spend the whole life with till death.
At any time, her beauty was always amazing, but it was daunting as well. Only he, not afraid of any danger or obstacle, stepped towards her step by step and firmly held her cold hands.
Just like this moment, her hands were still cold freezingly, though they were held tightly by him. But even so, he would still grasp her hands tightly and never let her go.
With ten fingers clasped tightly, they were destined to be linked for a lifetime.
“It is almost time to act. Have you arranged it yet?” Bai Aoxue asked lightly, letting her hands be held by Jun Yeyan.
Jun Yeyan nodded and put Bai Aoxue’s slender hands into his pocket of the cloak.
“I have already arranged everything. Luoyan’s position has been figured out. We can act later.” Jun Yeyan nodded and said in an indifferent tone, without a trace of nervousness.
He was still high-headed and calm as usual.
Bai Aoxue couldn’t help raising her lips with a smile, which was so beautiful and striking for an instant that Jianjia, who had just entered the door, felt that her eyes were dazzled.
The night wind was a bit cold, so Jun Yeyan closed the window. He took the fur cloak that Zhao brought and tied it for Bai Aoxue in person.
“It’s a little cold here at night, and it will be colder later when you go out. Wear more.” Jun Yeyan said as he tied it.
Bai Aoxue smiled softly, not stopping the action of Jun Yeyan.
“Sister Aoxue, this elder brother really treats you well.” Jianjia walked to Bai Aoxue. She dragged the corner of Bai Aoxue’s clothes and said softly.
Bai Aoxue looked down at Jianjia and smiled, saying, “Yes, although this brother doesn’t have a good tongue, he is very gentle.”
Hearing Bai Aoxue’s words, Jun Yeyan twitched his lips fiercely. What did she mean by saying that?
“Little girl, you are so smooth-tongued.” Jun Yeyan gave Jianjia a kind look, which was hardly seen, lightly saying.
When Jianjia heard it, she couldn’t help raising her head with her chest out, looking very proud.
“Zhao, give this little girl the fox fur collar we bought last time.” Jun Yeyan looked at Zhao on the side and said lightly.
Zhao didn’t procrastinate and hurriedly went to fetch the fox fur collar before giving it to Jianjia.
All the people with discerning eyes knew that his Master was now in a good mood.
Taking over the snow-white fox fur collar, Jianjia fondled it admiringly because the downy fur was so comfortable and warm to wear.
“Sister Aoxue, please help me wear it.” Jianjia gave the collar to Bai Aoxue.
Bai Aoxue didn’t refuse her request. She gently wrapped it around Jianjia’s neck, making Jianjia’s small face more beautiful and lovely.
Jun Yeyan looked at Jianjia’s happy appearance, constantly muttering in his mind that the collar was not wasted.
Looking at Jun Yeyan’s appearance, Bai Aoxue looked at Jianjia and said in a low voice, “You see! Although this brother doesn’t have a good tongue, in fact, he is really very gentle.”
Jianjia nodded in agreement, saying in a clear and naive voice, “Thank you, big brother.”
Hearing that, Jun Yeyan was a little embarra.s.sed. He tilted his head slightly and coughed gently, saying, “No… No need to thank me.”
Looking at Jun Yeyan’s appearance at the moment, Bai Aoxue was also in a good mood and chuckled undisguisedly.
After that, the atmosphere in the room was much better now, not as depressing as before.
“Let’s do it. It’s almost time to start.” Qi Tiance, who hadn’t spoken all the time, said in a calm tone at the moment.
Looking at the time of the day, Bai Aoxue didn’t oppose it. She stood up and said, “Be ready to go.”
Then they quietly left and dispersed in all directions under the night sky.
Qi Tiance said before that they should take Jianjia with them. Bai Aoxue thought that although Jianjia was skilled, she was still young now, so she did not take it to heart. But looking at Jianjia at the moment, who followed them in an orderly way, Bai Aoxue was dumbfounded involuntarily for the first time.
Jianjia was so young, but she was already so fast.
“Jianjia used to live with beasts in the peach blossom mountain. If she had not owned such a fast speed, how could she have lived to meet me?” Qi Tiance lightly explained to Bai Aoxue, seeming to have seen through Bai Aoxue’s shock.
Even Jun Yeyan on the side looked slightly sideways at the pet.i.te but tenacious figure beside them, who still followed closely them at a fast speed.
When Bai Aoxue heard Qi Tiance’s words, she understood a lot.
When they came to the courtyard where Luoyan and others stayed, Bai Aoxue and these several people quietly climbed over the wall without making a sound. The soldiers on patrol did not find that the enemy had already sneaked into the quiet courtyard at this moment.
“Jianjia, are you tired?” Bai Aoxue asked softly when looking at Jianjia next to her.
Jianjia shook her head, with the light of being eager to try flas.h.i.+ng in her eyes.
“Sister Aoxue, I am okay.”
Hearing that Jianjia said so, Bai Aoxue felt relieved a lot. These several people quietly shuttled in the courtyard.
“Who is there?” A sharp-eyed soldier, who fell out, saw the figure pa.s.sing by in front of his eyes and shouted.
When Bai Aoxue was just about to attack him, the soldier fell down suddenly to the ground.
As Jun Yeyan’s fingers slightly bent, the soldier’s chest was penetrated with a stone!
Fortunately, it was a little remote here, and no one found anything unusual. Zhao quickly threw the body into the overgrown gra.s.s, covering up the traces of the dead.
“No, it will be found by someone sooner or later.” Bai Aoxue uttered and walked to the body. She took out the porcelain bottle and poured some unknown liquid down.
In a blink of an eye, the corpse quickly decayed.
Zhao, standing beside Bai Aoxue, froze and automatically kept away from Bai Aoxue.
Looking at Bai Aoxue, Jun Yeyan and others all twitched the corners of the mouths. That was really the requisite and good medicine to vanish a corpse and obliterate all traces!
“Let’s go.” Bai Aoxue turned around and saw their dull looks.
“When we go back, give me some of your liquid medicine.” Qi Tiance inhaled deeply. After a long time, he looked at Bai Aoxue and said.
Bai Aoxue nodded understandingly and said, “Okay.”
When they left, Zhao examined the corpse again, which was nothing but a puddle of jet-black water, and everything else was gone. Even the bones were missing. Zhao could not help trembling out of fear fiercely.
So, you could offend anyone else except the Princess, or else you would die even without knowing how you were killed.
At this moment, Luoyan, wearing a red wedding dress, was sitting in a brightly lit room with untouched meals on the table.
“Creak!” The wooden door was pushed gently opened. Luoyan’s jet-black eyebrows frowned slightly.
“I have said it! I don’t want to eat! Take these all away!” Luoyan said angrily. She didn’t look up at the comer, thinking that it was her maidservant who came to persuade her.
“Ho… Princess Luoyan, how have you been since I saw you last?” The cold voice sounded with a bit of icy and stern coldness but more of sarcastic banter.
Luoyan who was originally angry, when hearing this voice, was shocked all over and looked up at the comer inconceivably.
The jet-black hair was tied up high, and the black clothes were tinted with the coldness of the night. The lower hem of the clothes was flying. The narrow and long phoenix-like eyes were a little sarcastic when looking at her.
It was the familiar face, but not the familiar person.
“You… Are you still alive?” Luoyan said. Being a little stunned, she stood up suddenly and looked at the person in front of her.
“How? You are very surprised that I am alive? Or… Do you think it’s a pity that I’m not dead? Princess Luoyan, or rather, the highest-ranking imperial concubine, Luoyan? Huh?” Bai Aoxue looked at Luoyan coldly and said indifferently with the corners of her mouth curved in a sarcastic arc.
Although she was smiling, it was not a sincere smile that reached the depths of her eyes.
Hearing Bai Aoxue’s words, Luoyan trembled a bit. Her eyelashes flickered slightly, revealing some fragility.
“Aoxue… That’s not true… That’s not true… Ye Zhaojue…” Luoyan hurriedly stepped forward a few steps, saying stutteringly while looking at Bai Aoxue.
“Enough! I don’t want to hear my uncle’s name from your mouth! That will make me feel that the beginning of all these faults is caused by me!” Bai Aoxue looked at Luoyan heavily and sniffed at her gently, saying, with her smile disappearing as if it had never appeared before.
When Luoyan heard Bai Aoxue’s words, her steps of walking forward paused in an instant.
She opened her red lips slightly, trying to speak, but she did not know how to start as if all the words were stuck in the throat, which was so uncomfortable that she didn’t know what to do.
