Togekiss quickly put some distance between her and the giant Electivire, the only thing that Togekiss doesn't have to worry about is taking physical damage, with her speed and ability to fly she can easily escape from any physical attacks.

Due to Electivire's huge size, his speed is below average while Togekiss can zap around the area, now that Julian has a rough idea about Electivire's defense, he needs to make his move.

Julian "Use Aura Sphere"

Togekiss flew up in the air and created a blue energy ball in front of her mouth and shot it at Electivire, there is no way Electivire could dodge this as Aura Sphere would follow their target no matter where they go and even if it didn't Electivire's speed is too slow for him to dodge this.

Volkner "Counter with Thunder Punch"

Electivire pulled his right hand back as lightning started to collect violently around it, as the Aura Sphere got close Electivire punched it, the clash between these attacks caused a huge blast as the ground beneath Electivire's legs shattered.

Both attacks were equal in strength no one won that exchange, but from the backlash, Electivire's whole body was pushed back.

This was the first time anyone countered Togekiss's attack upfront, even Garchomp in Julian's team won't confront these powerful attacks from her, she is the strongest special attacker in his team.

Julian "Impressive, but that won't help"

He said as a smiled appeared in his face, this battle took an unexpected turn for him, he thought that this gym battle would be the same as others, he would use them as steps for his pokemons to grow stronger but now it looks like he has to finally get serious, the opponent for the first time was stronger than him.

The Electivire has ridiculous physical defense and physical attacks that matched his Togekiss's special attacks.

Volkner "We will see about that, n.o.body has ever defeated my Electivire at the same power level or even a level above, this is the first time my Electivire has been pushed back"

Volkner said excitedly, this battle got more exciting for him, he was thankful for Ash to revive his fighting spirit or he would have missed such a good battle.

Well Julian's wasn't lying, his Togekiss has had mock battles with her seniors, even though they were not serious battles they have been proven to be good training, putting pressure on Togekiss from the start has put her in the correct mindset with it comes to battle, never underestimate anyone.

She is always expecting something new and unusual from her opponent and if the opponent has nothing she will win and if they had something she would be ready.

Volkner "I don't want your prediction, we will find the result when the battle ends"

Julian "I am not predicting, it's a spoiler"

He said and chuckled.

Volkner "Too bad I don't like Spoilers, Electivire, use Rain Dance"

Electivire suddenly used Rain Dance, artificial clouds started to form below the ceiling, they rumbled and flashed with lightning inside, it started to rain heavily as the battlefield got wet.

Togekiss shook her body to throw off the excess water on her wings, she started to glide around so that the water from the rain won't affect her wings.

Volkner "I am about to finish this, Electivire use Thunder"

Electivire used Thunder, the rain clouds started to rumble as lightning flashed inside, the sparks of lightning crackled and started to charge up.

Seeing an unavoidable attack coming towards Togekiss, Julian decided to make a move, usually, Thunder could be dodged with Togekiss's speed but in Rain Dance, a Thunder will follow its target no matter where they go.

Julian "Use Extreme Speed as soon as the lightning is released"

As soon as the lightning came cras.h.i.+ng down on Togekiss she moved, she used Extreme Speed and charged towards Electivire, the lightning followed right behind her, as she got very close to Electivire, Julian made another call.

Julian "Now up"

As Togekiss was just an inch away from Electivire's chest she changed her direction, she moved up, the lightning behind her landed on Electivire shocking him.

Julian 'Looks like this Electivire doesn't have Motor drive as his ability'

He thought as he saw the lightning damaging Electivire, Julian needed to see what ability Electivire had. If he had Motor Drive Electric-type attacks wouldn't have dealt any damage and on top of that it would have increased his speed as well, but now that he has Vital Spirit Julian knows that Electivire cannot be put to sleep.

Electivire got to its knee as the Lightning was way too powerful, Thunder is one of the strongest Electric-type moves and with Rain Dance it became devastating, Togekiss got lucky to dodge it.

Electivire got back to his feet again as breath out some smoke from his mouth, the Thunder seems to have just caused it some pain.

As for the effectiveness, it wasn't much.

Julian 'Even it's Special Defense is ridiculous'

He thought as he saw Electivire come out of that Thunder unscathed.

Julian 'Well then, how should I bring it down?'

He thought and looked around to find something.
