Princess Lingchen rested for a while before she headed towards the private hot spring in her court with Ah Zhen's a.s.sistance. The mists from the hot spring greeted her as the Princess entered the bathing area. Her body loosened up as the hot water touched her skins. In an instant, she could feel her fatigue dissipated. Princess Lingchen closed her eyes and relaxed.
It wasn't long before she heard Ah Zhen's voice to announce that Mingyue had come over. The Crown Princess opened her eyes and turned around when she heard footsteps approaching her.
Mingyue greeted the Princess before she sat beside the hot spring. "How are you feeling?"
"Comfortable," the Princess answered. She tilted her head sideways and smiled. "Do you want to get in with me?"
"It's fine. I still need to monitor the medicine's preparation after this," Mingyue answered with a laugh. Her gaze was at the princess' face. Although her sight was covered with the mists from the hot spring, she dared not to peek at the princess' bare body.
The Princess chuckled. "What? It's not like you haven't seen me naked before. You're my physician. I lose count of how many times you've seen me without clothes."
The corner of Mingyue's lips twitched. If these words were spoken by a man and were heard by her husband, then, wouldn't she get in trouble? She later recalled how Yang Yun had told her he was jealous that her relations.h.i.+p with Princess Lingchen was too close during their earlier dating stage.
Princess Lingchen laughed as she watched Mingyue's speechless expression. Lingchen submerged her body into the water until her shoulders were covered. Then, she leaned on the rocks behind her. "How is Prince Lu Wei?"
"His wound opened up a little during this b.u.mpy trip, but I have taken care of that," Mingyue said. "The wound around his stomach area healed quite well. He was able to walk for a short distance and do his daily activities, normally with his wound wrapped up nicely. If he takes care of his wound and drinks his medicine on time, he should recover soon. But the wound on his stomach will definitely leave a scar."
Princess Lingchen listened to Mingyue's report and nodded. Her thoughts dwelt on the Prince's attempt to the a.s.sa.s.sination. No matter how she thought about it, choosing Prince Lu Wei as her Crown Prince would be too troublesome. She did not want to partake the fight between the two princes of Qian Rong. She already has a lot in her plate right now.
During the Spring Hunt, Prince Jing had done something to trigger the poison in her body again. The princess was lucky that Mingyue had done a quick treatment before the poison could react. If the cold poison erupted when she was in front of everyone else, Princess Lingchen would be in deep trouble. Rumors will spread, and the officials will definitely urge the Emperor to dethrone her as his next successor.
"Soaking in the hot spring would be beneficial to you, but don't soak for too long."
Princess Lingchen snapped out of her thought at Mingyue reminder. She smiled and nodded. "Your husband was not jealous that you went around to look at another man's body?"
Mingyue chuckled at the princess' question. "When I'm in front of a patient, I am only a physician. Besides, Yang Yun was beside me as my a.s.sistant whenever I treated the prince."
"It must be tiring to look after two patients at one time," the Crown Princess said. She turned her head to look at Mingyue and continued, "When we returned to the capital city, you should have a break and go through your delayed wedding night."
Mingyue's face turned red at the Princess' tease.
Princess Lingchen watched Mingyue's bashful expression with amus.e.m.e.nt and decided to continue with her tease. "Or I could ask the steward to clean up a courtyard for you."
"Princess Lingchen!" Mingyue's red face turned a shade darker. "I-I am not going to talk about this with you."
