The Princess chuckled at her words.
"His achievement looks great," Mingyue continued. She nodded with satisfaction as she continued to read his profile. "He's the ninth prince of his country. It looks like he won't inherit the throne unless if all eight of his elder brother died. Marrying you seemed like a great way to gain power."
"Isn't every one of them the same? Every one of those princes won't be inheriting their throne. Or else they would not be considered as candidates for my husband," Princess Lingchen said.
"That is true." Mingyue laughed at her silliness.
The Princess's lips curved into a smile that did not look like a smile. "The question is, what will they do once they have the power in their hand? Will they act as my support or destroy me?"
"You will find out about each and everyone's character during this banquet. Isn't that is the purpose of this banquet?"
"Hopefully." Princess Lingchen took a sip from her tea.
Although the banquet was held with the purpose to let her and His Majesty know them well before the marriage, she knew that it would not be easy to find out about each and everyone's character.
She grew up in the imperial family. Who among the imperial family did not know how to mask their expression and conceal what they feel. Just because some of them might appear to have proper manner and temper before her, doesn't mean that he is showing his true color.
Mingyue flipped through the papers and pulled out a profile from the stack. "Hmm," she tapped her chin as she read the profile. "According to my observation, prince number five seemed more like your type."
"I don't have a type," she waved her hand dismissively.
"He's not as good looking as prince number two, but I can see that he is pleasing to the eyes," Mingyue continued. "His achievements weren't that bad. If I were to choose one of them for you, I would definitely choose prince number five."
"And why are you referring to them by numbers? Don't they have a name?" Princess Lingchen was slightly annoyed.
Mingyue tilted her head and smiled teasingly when she saw the glimpse of interest in the Princess's eyes. "You said you weren't interested to know who they are. That's why I referred them by numbers."
The Princess frowned. Her gaze laid on the stack of papers in Mingyue's hand as she wondered about the candidates. She didn't care about the princes, but Mingyue's words piqued her interest.
Someone that Mingyue had chosen, couldn't be that bad, right?
