This restaurant was bustling with every table almost taken by groups of people. However, what was strange, was that each table had experts dressed in different types of clothing which proved that everyone here was not from this village.
"Could everyone here be outsiders who are trying to attend the event?" Tommy asked the waitress who had just handed him a small menu filled with different types of drinks and meals.
"That is correct. The event our village holds once every twenty years is in three days. It is a smaller scale compet.i.tion between young experts, but every year it is hosted by the Star Pavilion." the waitress responded as she waited for Tommy to ask another question or to begin ordering.
"Is that so?" Tommy asked before ordering his drink and food.
The Star Pavilion was similar to the Red Dust clan's forces, except it specialized in selling goods and controlled the most commerce in this region where Tommy lived his entire life.
Though, lacking in sheer strength like the Red Dust clan, the Star Pavilion was by far the wealthiest of the groups in the region.
It could be said that they hired several experts from other regions to guard their headquarters. Also, that the same experts would easily be able to control a village of their own if they wanted to with their strength alone.
The Star Pavilion did not start out as a powerhouse, rather, it started from a commoner who was fortunate enough to sell several highly valued items to several big clans. From there, the commoner used his fortunes to create the Star Pavilion and soon after took over the business of many travelling merchant groups until it was the powerhouse which it is today.
Due to its roots, the Star Pavilion was of course independent, but also tried to recruit mainly commoners into their ranks. For a village like this, if its citizens could compete to catch the eyes of the Star Pavilion, it would allow their families to prosper after only a few years of serving them!
Unfortunately, for Tommy, his background was not as a commoner so even if he entered the compet.i.tion, the Star Pavilion would not recruit him into their ranks. Though, there have been some instances where they would recruit experts from major clans in cities into their branches, Tommy was by no means such an expert.
However, this would not stop Tommy from entering the compet.i.tion in order to further temper his strength and possibly learn from his opponents.
The path of a cultivator was filled with many opponents, and only then, very few would reach the level which they yearned for. To Tommy, this was the perfect opportunity to test not only his luck, but his current strength as well.
"Are you done with your meal sir?" the waitress asked Tommy several minutes later.
"Yes, but is it possible for you to direct me towards the place to sign up for the event?" Tommy asked the waitress after handing her an above average tip. This clearly showed Tommy's intentions for the waitress to a.s.sist him with this task.
After seeing the amount of gold coins Tommy gave to her, the waitress blushed slightly before recomposing herself.
"Since this young master wants to enter the event, just simply head that way and you will see a building with a banner on it. If you pa.s.s the test, you will be able to enter the event without any problems and will also be given your own room and meals until the event itself." the waitress told Tommy before taking her leave.
