Swiftly getting up, he woke the sleeping Speranza quietly.
Slowly opening her eyes until the loud bell rang, with her eyes wide, she looked up toward him.
So high up in the levels of this underground having yet to reach the level where monsters of A grades roamed. Why was it here?
Dragging herself out of bed, she stood next to him. He took her hand into his. Hurriedly guiding and keeping her close behind him.
Once both of them were outside, what awaited them was a vision of horror.
Large, more ma.s.sive and giant spiders were destroying the mercenaries, killing them in one or two blows!
Blood was flowing out like a rapid river.
Speranza could not help but gasp and place her hand in front of her mouth, containing her voice from shouting out!
Gritting his teeth, Arkalat shouted his orders!
But at this time, commanding those who were not part of his well-trained army, but merely some rift-raft subordinates whom he had to manage— he can only deal with it and hope for the best!
"Idiots! Do not engage them directly or you would be courting your death! Light out fires! Those that can cast Fire spells, go and aim them toward their head and eyes!"
Speranza's magic is still reasonably weak but its quality is top notch.
Thinking for a brief a moment, she furrowed her brows.
She could not allow them!
This ma.s.sacre could not continue like this!
After all, she had staves and wands, as well as, other magical gems!
If she did not make use of them now, then… why even have them?
Even if her magic was non-existent, she could still use those and overpower any of the other mages present!
They were not true mages but only dual-cla.s.sing as mages. They just knew a few tricks and trinkets.
It would not be enough for them to kill an A grade giant spider!
"Sorry."
She said this and disappeared using a teleportation pearl.
Arkalat could not make sense of why she had said sorry until she withdrew from his grasp!
He felt frantic in his heart, this knucklehead, what in the world was she planning?!
His eyes searched around in the crowd.
Being unable to find her, he heard a familiar voice, one he knew too well!
"Aha."
It was the maniacal laughter of a woman looking above the most prominent spider head.
Then he finally spotted three women.
All of them were dark-skinned, closer to obsidian colour than anything else.
Their red blood eyes glowing in the darkness gave them a feeling of h.e.l.l beings.
While being elves, their heart only knew evil.
Ma.s.sacres, murdering and treasons are their cultures.
Strong killing the weak.
Dog eat dog.
Those are their mottos!
Their black heart is relis.h.i.+ng in the suffering that Arkalat's group were dealing with.
"How lucky, I'm meeting the grand general of the Dark Fey king!"
This bloodthirsty woman spoke in a tone filled with madness. Her s.a.d.i.s.tic intent unbridled apparent.
He clenched his fists. Had the scout not seen those Elves?
How was it possible?
No that wasn't it, more likely it was a mind spell!
They had forgotten about them and likely reported their route!
That had to be it!
"b.l.o.o.d.y b.i.t.c.h!" he cursed, but now he could not even afford to look for Speranza!
If he did, he would draw this b.i.t.c.h's attention toward his wife!
The woman madly licked her lips. She had fantasized about that strong male for nearly a hundred years!
How could she not relish in the thought of subduing him and making him her bed toy?
She called forth her troupes!
When this happened, everyone realized that this had been a planned ambus.h.!.+
They could not run nor could they advance!
Trapped like rats!
That's what they are now!
Arkalat called his wyvern, mounting on it as he charged forward! But at the moment that the spider launched to trap him within its giant legs, it hit an invisible wall!
The wyvern stopped, its nose had also touched the invisible wall!
But unlike the spider, he had not crashed into it at full force!
He had seen the spider crash into it first!
The spider let out a shrill screech! It had damaged its mandible and front legs!
The woman could see the moment of confusion in both the mount and rider!
They had not been the one who cast this wall!
All her troops were locked outside while they were caged inside.
She looked toward the mage in her team, seeing her unmoved and lightly puzzled, she deduced that a sabotage was not it either.
Suddenly, fire rain poured down from the ceiling! Mournful screech and howls from the beast they rode, as well as the men and women warrior troop, were heard!
They were being burnt alive!
Upon a high ledge, on the side of the cavern wall, high above all of them. A fire fey lighted the darkness.
An efreet Fey had cast that powerful fire spell! When had they provoked that fey?
Its hair ablaze, floated in the heated wind created by the high temperature; the rock-made palisade it stood on glowed red from the heat, as well as the wall near it.
Just how high was the temperature up there?
How could Arkalat not recognize that efreet?
It would be impossible for him not to!
This girl... she knew that her power was weak at this time!
Why did she stand out so much?
Could she not be quiet and hide behind him?
The fey smirked as she twirled a staff around, casting a wide swirling fire circle above them all!
The dark elves hearts sank.
This information had not been in the reports; it was only the general and the wyverns that were noteworthy so what was this?
Who was it that was controlling such powerful elemental?
The woman grits her teeth yelling.
"Retreat! Everyone Retreat!"
As she shouted the retreat, a soft wind voice echoed.
"As if I would be generous enough to let those that harmed my people leave."
"By the contracts with the fire plains, the heavens and I. Portal to the heavens open for me. I the child of fire, summons the meteors to rain upon those who stand before me, cast down the judgement of the red star upon my enemies. GRAND METEOR RAIN!"
As the spell chant completed, a large portal opened above their heads as flaming meteorites rammed full force into the grade A monsters and the other spiders, destroying them as if meeting ants!
The troops howled and screamed as they were engulfed by the fire-plains h.e.l.l-fires.
The people inside the Invisible sphere could hear the rain of stone and fire ram into the barrier that protected them!
BOOM!
The staff and fire spear it had used, broke into pieces as they disintegrated. The magic had been too powerful for them to sustain, draining both clean of all the implanted magic.
The mystical being lost its colour and fire. As it returned to its original shape, it fell unconsciously off the high ledge!
Falling in a free fall, being too weak to even move or shout as it fell into a deep slumber.
Fire engulfed the rest of the area and only those within the barrier remained unaffected.
It was a powerful grand-magic, but the cost of it would be iffy.
Once the dust settled, the fey disappeared from its position.
The white wyvern's shadow took to the sky, flying at full speed toward a falling and unconscious silhouette.
They all gasped once they recognized who had saved all of them from this disaster in one swell swoop.
They were left speechless!
