Feeding the fire some firewood letting her gaze wander lazily around. Taking note of the camp building site the fire area wide and unhindered the river just a few meters away, narrowing her eyes to focus on a brown thing she realized there was a boat there tied to a tree hidden under larger branches that covered part of the water. The elf man likely used this boat to travel the forest following the water way was one of the safess options to cross the forest. But this river had more than a hundred arms and thousands of creeks that threw themselves into it.
Well, she hoped he would let her travel with him being on a boat was way better than crossing by foot it also was much faster.
She started tidying the camp clearing out the trash folding the furs and boiling eggs and potatoes. Really this dimension bag of holding was a marvel of wonders. It made things very convenient.
Boiling the eggs and the potatoes she then looked for some spices and herbs in the bags that the elf man had given her to use. He had a wide variety of herbs some common some rare and other's where downright precious she could not believe he had handed her such bag she even started to believe he might have set an array that prevented her from escaping… Those herbs where very precious and had a lot of benefice for different cla.s.ses Sorceress could use fire element herbs to clean their blood making it purer therefore stronger.
All sorcerers were descendants of a magical being that had a humanoid form when it had mixed its blood with a human. The closer the sorcerer blood was to its root the stronger it was. Then there was the quality of the body, a weak body with strong blood would give a person unable to control it's full power and would be sickly and self-destroy in the end.
Choosing a few herbs that were not to fancy but tasty she made a potato salad mixing the chopped eggs making a white sauce then finely chopping some beef jerky to use as bacon crumbs.
Being deeply absorbed into the task at hand Speranza never herd enforcer return. He smirked smugly as he observed the girl bustling to make a meal for them both.
Lowering his head to speak into her ear gently with a hint of that prankster style carrying his aloof smile. " smells good missed me much? " He held her hands preventing her from injuring herself as she nearly jumped out of her own skin at the surprise making him laugh evilly at her. "Nervous much?" He teased as he bit her neck "continue like that and maybe I will truly eat you."
She stiffened, sending him a gaze of disbelief unable to say a single word this guy was simply too much. He had bitten her!
Seeing her infuriated and disbelieving face he burst into uncontrollable laughter.
No one had ever amused him as much not even the jokesters and performers, she truly had something that made her more interesting than those boring court things.
Stopping his laughter he said in a more composed tone yet he still had that smirk on his lip.
"Get ready pick up the wares we are lifting camp time to move on. We will eat aboard the boat."
Then he casually added but he already knew a girl would not risk staying in that village alone it had a bad reputation. Adventure women also avoided it. The naive one would end up eaten up by the place sold before they even knew what had happened...
"Speaking of which once we reach the next village of Astria will you continue with me or stay there and try to make your way home?"
Hearing the name of -that- village she could not help but s.h.i.+ver.
"Must we really go to that village?" Knowing the village reputation, she would more wish to go the opposite direction h.e.l.ls he might sell her off there…
"Sadly I have important business in that village, plus I need some supplies that can only be acquired there." He spoke casually running his fingers through his hair and scratching his own head. He fairly understood her aversion to that place even he did not like it. The place smelled bad was a slum and nothing good to be had there aside one thing and that was information…
Her expression sank deeper, carefully asking him. "How far are we from that place" examining his expression as if she wanted to decipher his purposes to go to such a cursed place.
"We will be on the boat for at least three days before reaching the village. On the bright side, there is a good boat harbour there, I need to get a bigger boat for the next step of my travel over the larger flow. One that can house for days without the need for disembarking."
He keeps his tone as neutral as possible even if he enjoyed to taunt the girl and normally would not give such girl even a second glance he could not help but want to rea.s.sure her…
"If you let me stay with you id would rather follow then stay there…" Answering quietly she bites her lower lip. The direction would make it impossible for her to turn and go home she had no choice she could only follow him.
She now realized it might take her years to go back and it might never happen… Her mother was dead she was unclear if her father were alive or dead as well. She would inquirer news about the village once they reached the village.
Loading the boat with all the supplies undoing the tent, making sure they forgot nothing she stepped into the boat as he set it toward their destination.
"We will stop at a clearing about one hundred miles north from here at dusk, in the meantime since there nothing else to do... If your cold comes to sit here" he teased her merrily.
She was cold but not stupid she knew he would eat her up and gobble her down before even knowing what had transpired.
"I'm fine." She said clenching her teeth a little to stop them from clattering from the cold.
Taking the big quilt and wrapping her up then taking a comfortable position since the boat was a magic one that needed no one to tend to it.
"Isn't it much better?" he murmured to her ear holding her tightly as he closed his eye resting up. "Rest up, the boat possess some barriers nothing can truly attack us here. Might as well enjoy the ride Girly.
Listening to him she nodded once then leaned back closing her beautiful azure eyes. With her being wrapped like a sausage might as well go with the flow...
