"We're so used to showing our love for each other behind closed doors its kind of awkward showing it in front of strangers" Ha Eun said. Chang Wook knew that the man didn't believe them, yet Ha Eun still tried to convince him.
"If you love each other so much, young man, why don't you tell us, what is she allergic to?" it was time for Chang Wook to talk. Ha Eun saw her career shatter right in front of her. There's no way her a.s.sistant would know something like that. What if a reporter or someone from the board asked a question like that? She'll be done for.
"Sh.e.l.lfish" Chang Wook answered without a second thought. Ha Eun was surprised, but more than that, she was impressed. How could her a.s.sistant know something like that? They've never gone out to eat together. While Ha Eun was complimenting him inside her head he just had to add "And the whole spectrum of human emotions"
The lawyer was taken aback by what he heard, Ha Eun on the other hand got angry and took back the nice things she thought about him "Haha!" she said "What a jokester! He loves to joke around"
The lawyer looked at her then back at Chang Wook.
"Does your fiancée here have any hidden scars Mr. Kim?" Ha Eun couldn't help but feel sweat go down her back. The lawyer had no right to ask something like that! No one would ask something like that. But again, without a second thought Chang Wook answered.
"She has a tattoo, if that's what you mean" Ha Eun tried to hide her shocked expression.
"By your reaction to my statement about you two needing signatures Miss Lee, you seemed quite shocked. That means that neither of you have told your parents yet…" the lawyer had more to say but Ha Eun quickly intercepted.
"That's impossible. My parents are dead" she said with a chuckle. The lawyer did a slight chuckle as well. Chang Wook was surprised by her answer. He didn't know she didn't have any parents, he always thought the Chairman was her father, but it looks like he's her grandfather.
"What about you? Are your parents dead too?" he looked and Chang Wook, before he could answer Ha Eun cut in.
"No, his are very much alive. We are planning on telling them of our marriage, this weekend, during his mother's 60th birthday"
Chang Wook slowly turned his head towards her. As a powerful CEO he thought she'd find a way to get signatures and leave his parents out of this but now she just invited herself to his mother's birthday party. The one that she specifically stopped him from going to. She didn't say it to him directly, but her silence says more than the actual words coming from her mouth.
"And where is that, exactly?" the lawyer asked. Looking at Ha Eun. She chuckled awkwardly and looked at Chang Wook.
"Honey, why are you so quiet over there? They're your parents, why don't you tell him where they are?" she reached her hand out towards him and placed it on his lap. Not only did Chang Wook feel extremely uncomfortable, every time he heard Ha Eun call him honey, his urge to throw up got even bigger.
He forced a chuckle "Jeju"
"Jeju!" Ha Eun said excitedly.
"Island"
"Isla...?" before Ha Eun could ask she caught herself and Said "Island!" with an excited tone.
She's never gone to Jeju Island. She's never gone anywhere that wasn't Seoul. She did go to boarding schools and studied abroad but she was always in a metropolitan area. What the h.e.l.l was she going to do on an Island. She looked at the man, he was staring at her as if he caught her lying. She was lying through her teeth, but she wasn't going to let his gaze get the best of her.
"Well, I think I've heard enough. If you two really want to get married come back here with those signatures" the lawyer said as he walked them out into the hallway. He went back into his office and that was it.
Once they were outside both of them were startled when they saw the Chairman, right in front of them.
