Fighting against two peak heroic bearings stage experts in an underground pa.s.sageway, surrounded on both side, even if he was a fighter of the same level, Rook Bilin was unable to escape. After exchanging many rounds in desperation, he finally fell to his two foes.

When Rook Bilin's severed head was lifted before the remaining forces of the Bilin family, they quickly stopped resisting. Some of those soldiers ran, while others surrendered. All that was left was the clean-up of the bandits that were sent by the Wolfing gang.

With the combined forces of the Zefer and Amnon families, that wasn't a problem, especially since the members of the Wolfing gang here no longer had any 2nd stage combatants remaining. Some of them tried to surrender, while the others that knew only death awaits even if they do surrender, either ran or fought to their dying breaths.

After all, it's not like their enemies would trust them to behave in jail, waste their resources feeding them, and not expect them to try to cause trouble when the Wolfing gang's chief comes to take revenge.

In this world, there is no way to cripple a person's cultivation simply by breaking one of their organs with a single strike, like what those some unrealistic novels would have. The only way to cripple a martial cultivator would be to cut off both their legs... and that's a fate that most warriors would rather die than suffer.

Thus, if one cannot incapacitate their enemy, and does not have a prison strong enough to hold them, then it is better to just kill them.

Eventually, all of the bandits whom remained here were killed.

What is next, according to plan, is the divvying up of rewards. The women that were captured, would have to be handed over to the Zefer family, and any valuables that were found would have to be handed over to the Amnon family.

Then, the two families would sit down and decide their next course of action.

Right now, the women are being held captive, surrounded by the soldiers from both families. Since Merab Zefer had appeared with such good timing, Karlan Amnon was unable to carry out his plan of killing them off, much to the latter's dissatisfaction.

As for the valuables, the Amnon family soldiers were barely able to find anything when they entered the burning mansion, leaving Karlan Amnon quite disgruntled.

But instead of pursuing that, Karlan Amnon's attention was caught by something else, or rather, by "someone" else. The moment he saw that someone, he yelled, "SETH ZEFER!!!"

"What is it?" Seth innocently asked, while hiding behind his father's back.

"..." Merab Zefer frowned. What did this reckless son of his do now? Whatever it was, he didn't like being purposely treated as a meat s.h.i.+eld. Thus, he pulled Seth to the front.

Seth, who was forced to face the hateful and furious glare of the Amnon family lord, looked casual. "Glaring at me like that... What do you, old man of the Amnon family?"

They are facing each other, with less than 8 meters in between them, while being watched by several hundreds of soldiers.

Karlan Amnon ground his teeth. "You little devil... I demand an explanation for what you did to my daughter!"

Merab Zefer looked at Seth. "What did you do?"

Merab Zefer truly doesn't know. While he was able to somewhat hear some shrill screams during his fighting outside the mansion, he was too focused on his opponent.

After all, the one he was fighting back then was the now deceased lord of the Bilin family. There were even some soldiers that would throw their lives at him to create an opening for their lord to kill him. How could he let himself get distracted? His ear were practically deaf to Kesha Amnon's screams for help.

"Well..." Seth scratched his head. "Father, calm down and don't get angry... I turned your wife into a limbless animal..."

"You WHAT?" Merab Zefer said, with widened eyes. He was far less angry than one would expect.

Due to the defect that he now has, he can't even sleep in the same room as that woman anymore, causing his attachment to her to have fallen greatly. However, a grave expression still appeared on his face nonetheless. This was due to what that woman represented, the political ties between his Zefer family and the Amnon family.

"But don't worry! She's still not dead!" Seth quickly explained. "In fact, if that woman is taken to a hospital at a supreme city, so long as we pay enough money, her limbs can still be reattached... if we have the money that is."

"Ha...Haha!" Karlan Amnon laughed. It was a laugh in anger. "You think I am dumb enough to believe that a woman can survive having all of her limbs mutilated?"

Seth nodded. "Yes, I think you're that dumb. Just wait. I'll bring her out."

"No need." Karlan Amnon shook his head. A evil smile appeared on his face, causing Seth to frown.

"What?"

"I have prepared a gift for you." Saying so, he took a box measuring little more than 1 foot cubed, from the hands of one of his subordinates, placed it on the ground. Then, he kicked it over to Seth.

With a foreboding feeling, Seth opened the box. When he saw what was inside, his expression... turned blank.

He picked up the object from within the box, held it in his arms, and then gently caressed it.

As he caressed it, his hands became more and more red.

"How do you feel, young man? How do you feel to have lost your only sister!? This is the price of your actions! Now you know my pain! Gahahaha!" Karlan Amnon laughed.

He continued laughing.

But soon, he calmed down.

Isn't the little devil being a little too silent? Why isn't he crying? Getting angry? Falling to his knees in remorse? He is just standing there, looking down at it, wordlessly caressing it. His expression doesn't look any different from before, other than his smile having disappeared. Is he so unfeeling? This is so... unsatisfying.

Looking down at the object, Seth whispered something. But his voice was so quiet that no one could hear it. It was like only his lips were moving. It was as if his words dissipated with the wind, going neither here nor there.

On the side, Merab Zefer felt relieved. Now that they have taken their revenge, the negotiations can go on. At least, a battle won't break out between the two families.

Soon, Seth's hand had become completely red, and slowly, he stopped. He then looked up.

With his expression unchanging, he was looking into the eyes of Karlan Amnon, the man who had killed his sister.

"How do I feel? Are you asking me if I feel regret? I don't. None at all. I've long since stopped feeling such an useless emotion. I just... feel a bit sad."

Karlan Amnon's old face grew happy for a moment, when he heard Seth admit his feeling of sadness. But then, his happiness disappeared. Just a bit of sadness. What do I have to do to make you cry and despair? Kill your mother? Kill off your entire family?

"Oh right, I have a gift for you too." Seth suddenly said.

"Huh?" Karlan Amnon felt surprised. Gift? What gift? Was the little devil faking bravado?

"Hand that over." Having said that to what seemed like no one in particular, a ball of cloth suddenly appeared in Seth's outstretched hand.

To the onlookers, it looked as if he had just performed some magic trick. But with how b.l.o.o.d.y the ball of cloth is, very few people felt amused.

Seth then threw the b.l.o.o.d.y ball of cloth before Karlan Amnon's feet.

The old man sneered. He wondered what the little devil is playing at.

He ordered one of his soldiers to open the cloth.

But when what was inside the cloth was revealed, Karlan Amnon's face turned paler that a ghost's. His expression sunk as far as it could go. He shouted, "Erlanddd!!!".

Karlan Amnon fell to his knees and cried. Before, he and his son had entered the burning building together. They separated inside, with one heading upstairs and the other going down. When Karlan came out however, his son was nowhere to be seen. This confused him, but he didn't worry too much. Aside from Merab Zefer, who appeared at the underground pa.s.sageway following Rook Bilin, no one else should have had the ability to threaten the life of his eldest son, who was at the mid heroic bearings stage and surrounded by plenty of guards. He was sure that he would see him later. ...Never did he expect that he would see him like this.

"SETH... ZEFERRR!!!" Eyes having turned bloodshot, and with tears of blood flowing down his face, expression distorted, and his mouth heavily panting, Karlan Amnon shot at Seth Zefer. His sword was brandished, and frightening killing intent exuded from his entire body. He can no longer permit the existence of this devil on this earth!
