Would your enemy stop just because you told them to?

Karlan Amnon's sword continued descending. He did not pay any attention to Rook Bilin who appeared at the other side of the crowd of escapees. That man is still too far away to threaten him.

Just when it looked like Throm Bilin was about to be cut down, he was pushed aside.

SPLIT!

"Rainnn!!!" Throm cried. He watched as his wife was split into two halves right before his eyes.

"Mommy!!" Irene, who saw her mother's death, screamed. She felt shock, and a heart-wrenching pain.

It was not her first time witnessing people die. Before, when strangers died before her eyes, she had only felt a sense of disgust at the sloppy messes that the corpses had become.

But when it happened to her own mother... She finally realized what the pain of parting is.

If it were not for her aunts holding her back, she would have rushed to her mother's falling body.

"Die!!!" Jumping into the air, Rook Bilin hurled his spear straight at Karlan Amnon's chest.

After Karlan Amnon killed Throm Bilin's wife, he wanted to kill Throm himself. But unfortunately, he did not have the chance. If he does not dodge this incoming spear, he could suffer a fatal injury.

Thus, although he felt unsatisfied, he was forced to back off.

Knocking down the last of the Amnon family's grunts around him, Throm Bilin rushed to his wife's corpse. Tears fell from his eyes as he held the top half of her bisected body.

After Rook Bilin landed, he arrived on the other side of escapees. Grabbing hold of his spear, he turned his angry gaze at Karlan Amnon.

Then, the two of them started a fierce clash of sword and spear.

"Big brother, let's go." Some of the women among the escapees urged Throm to get up. The old master of the family can handle himself perfectly fine, so long as the battle is one against one. What they have to do now, is to escape so as to not burden him.

Throm knew that as well. Thus, carrying his wife's corpse with him, he left with the other escapees. One of his arms was held his deceased wife, while the other was pulling his daughter's hand. As Irene was pulled along, running, she was constantly muttering, "Mommy... Mommy...", while wiping the tears from her eyes with her free hand.

Not long later, they were able to see the stairs at the end of the pa.s.sageway. Once they swing open that door, they will be able to come out from underground.

Although, once they do that, they will not only have to face the smoke that previously came in through the vents, but also the fire that produced the smoke.

Still, that will be better than staying trapped here.

But before they could reach the door, the door opened of its own accord.

Rather than say it was opened by itself, it should be said that someone opened it from the other side.

Everybody grew nervous.

Throm handed his wife's corpse over to someone else. He released his daughter's hand and unsheathed his sword as he moved to stand in front of everybody.

The man who walked down the steps was fully dressed in armor. When his face underneath the helmet was illuminated before the eyes of everyone, Throm Bilin, in a gloomy tone, exclaimed one name. "Merab Zefer."

When Merab Zefer caught sight of his adversary, his eyes flashed with deep killing intent. "Throm Bilin."

How did Merab Zefer so quickly enter the mansion?

Those two mid heroic bearings stage bandits from the Wolfing gang should have been able to hold him back so long as he did not go all out?

Well... He went all out.

People can plan, but others don't necessarily have to follow.

While his troops were still fighting with the bandits outside, Merab Zefer came into the mansion after Rook Bilin.

To his pleasant surprise, the one he found afterwards, was not Rook Bilin, but rather, his son, Throm Bilin, the man who had poisoned him not too long ago.

Their battle ended in a flash.

The women screamed as they saw Throm Bilin get cut into two halves, straight down the middle.

Irene's world fell apart when she saw her father die. The impact that his death had on her mind was even greater than the one she suffered when she witnessed the death of her mother.

One reason was, because after her mother died, her father became the last remaining one of her parents.

Another reason is that she is like most girls. So long as the father that raised them isn't some particularly unlikable character, the daughters' first love, or should that be called, first crush, will be their father. It is the same with how a son's first crush would be his own mother.

Although the child will eventually grow out of said crush, the affection born of a blood connection would not so easily disappear.

After she saw her father die, and when she saw the man who killed him walking over his b.l.o.o.d.y remains, producing splas.h.i.+ng sounds with his steel boots, Irene cried out. "Wahhh!!! Give me back my daddy!"

Getting past her other relatives, she charged at the killer, Merab Zefer. She does not care that she doesn't have any cultivation at all. She doesn't care that her opponent is someone that can easily cut a grown man into pieces. She just wants to lash out and get revenge.

Irene's small fist struck on Merab Zefer's torso with all her might.

There was a dull thud.

Her fist hurt like it had its bones broken, but she did not leave the slightest dent on Merab Zefer's armor. She wasn't even able to push him back a single centimeter. That was how weak she was compared to him.

Even so, even if her fists were to break, she continued striking him.

With tears streaming down her face, she kept yelling at the man half a meter taller than her and countless times more intimidating than her.

"Go die!"

"Give me back daddy!"

"You evil monster!"

Merab Zefer, looking down at this... was not amused. His eyes were as cold as ice.

The other women and children of the Bilin family were already scared out of their wits and running away from him. Yet, this girl just remained to seek death? He does not have the time to deal with such a foolish toy.

Merab Zefer raised his right hand. Then, he swung it down.

With Merab Zefer's brute strength, if this smack connects, then the little girl's head would go flying off her torso.

Merab Zefer still remembers that his son, Seth, wants the captured females of the Bilin family. However, even if the number of toys decrease by one, so what? That is just how little he thinks they are worth. They certainly aren't worth his irritation. He doesn't know that the only one among all the females of the Bilin family that Seth wants, is this girl he is about to kill!

Thus, his hand struck down.

SMACK!

"Kitty got smacked! Kitty got smack by a stupid human! Kitty is... Kitty is... not hurt at all." Kitty screamed as kitty got sent flying.

Soaring through the air, kitty touched his belly that just got hit after kitty had jumped in the way to save the human girl.

Kitty doesn't think kitty is allowed to kill this stupid human male that is the stupid master's father without the stupid master's permission, so this was the only thing that kitty could do.

The human girl, even with kitty as a cus.h.i.+on, got shoved by the hit. Kitty got smacked, causing kitty's plushy backside to hit a side of the human girl's face. In the end, the human girl got sent flying to the side. She slammed into a wall and fell unconscious. A trickle of blood flowed down from the human girl's head where her head met the wall.

Merab Zefer looked down at his own hand. Then, he looked at the little girl that hit the side wall. Unexpectedly, her head is still attached to her torso.

The impact that Merab Zefer felt when he had delivered that smack felt off. It felt like he had hit hard rubber instead of an ordinary human's flesh and bones...

The sound that was produced also felt wrong. It sounded like he had smacked the head of a drum...

Soon, he stopped dwelling on it. It was a waste of time.

He ignored the unconscious little girl and continued forward.

Before long, the sounds of fighting, and the sounds of weapons clanging, increased in the underground pa.s.sageway.

The burning mansion continues to fall apart, and lives continue to be snuffed out.

Eventually, the battle will end, and there will be a victor.
