Xia Lin had ordered a few books to be delivered there to relieve her boredom while watching the officials enjoying mother earth. She was currently reading the art of war, which was one of the most famous books in the human realm. While her attention seemed to be in the book, she would sometimes throw a glance at her p.a.w.n to see if they were still enjoying mother earth.
Twelve maids walked in, each holding a tray of different steamed bun. Each made with different flavors some were meat, vegetables, seafood. Xia Lin inhaled to take in the food that she was about to savor. The maids came and placed the food in front of Xia Lin, then they all bowed and headed back.
Su Mian didn't understand what was going on. How can she eat? Is she starving? Why would she need food? Unlike Su Mian, Long Fei understood what she was doing, she might look like she was just eating but in reality, she was torturing the officials.
If a G.o.d needed food, that meant that they had lost their power or that they had recently overused it; therefore they needed to eat food cooked with spiritual energy.
Long Fei had realized that when Xia Lin had inhaled, she had secretly exhaled some spiritual energy which landed on the food and sprayed around the court hall.
Why did that matter? There is a legend that says that if a G.o.d rides a dragon, they lose power, therefore, they need to regain it by eating something that has spiritual power.
Everyone heard that The Supreme One had disappeared with The Phoenix, and now she needed food that had spiritual energy. She was slapping Bai Feng who thought that He Lan wouldn't touch her, she was also making those officials reconsider their loyalty to the Bai Family.
Only he had realized that the spiritual energy was placed on the food after it was cooked and not while it was being cooked.
After another hour had pa.s.sed Xia Lin had finished her food but the officials were still kowtowing while begging her to punish them. They all were furious as she was clearly disregarding them, they had been kowtowing for two hours now. Although their foreheads weren't bruised, or their hands didn't hurt, they were clearly dissatisfied with the way she was treating the high officials of Geng Gao.
After another 30 min had pa.s.sed, she finally decided to speak.
"Tell me, how should this Phoenix punish you?" She finally decided to partic.i.p.ate in the game.
Her cold voice resonated in their ears, but what did she mean by how should she punish them? She was clearly not following the scripts they had imagined.
One stupid official thought that it would be a good idea to challenge her, and corner her again. He didn't believe that she could harm them without bringing hate upon herself from the people.
He confidently shouted " Our official t.i.tles should be stripped away before being thrown out in the punitive fire. Our wives should be killed and our children sold to become human slaves."
"Hmmm..., Ok " Xia Lin nodded in agreement.
"Guard! Punish them according to Second rank Official Shun Lian." She casually said as if agreeing to confer them new t.i.tles.
Upon hearing her answer, all the official almost started crying. They have been condemned just like that by their own. The worst part is they were the one who asked for punishment and even selected the punishments.
Su Mian was dumbstruck by his new grand mistress, she was too overbearing. He subconsciously made a note to himself to avoid being on her wrong side.
Hearing the Phoenix order, several guards came forward to arrest the officials.
Bai Feng refused to take this as his end, he had fought the Shen and Layoing army not to die by a suggestion from a second rank official in his own land.
Understanding the change of situation Bai Feng lowered his head "Your Phoenix is forgiving and magnanimous, I beg Your Phoenix to show your mercy on Shun Lian and the Shun clan" He said while kowtowing. Bai Feng was clearly stating that only Official Shun Lian should be punished since he was the one who gave that idea but also he was pointing out that the Phoenix was not forgiving!
Xia Lin's lips curved into a smile, she had seen lots of Bai Feng before. This old man was really shameless, he threw away a person whom he had brought to beg for his daughter's freedom.
Xia Lin was really enjoying it, Although her face had the same cold expression, she was giggling inside.
