"Ms. Grey, it is 3:30 PM," Jenna said out loud.
Hearing the time, Lillian's eyes widened big enough to make them fall out of her eye socket. Lillian then screamed out her lungs.
"Not again, MS. GREY" Jenna felt tired already. Thinking of how she's gonna handle the rest of the main event, only G.o.d knows.
Jenna quickly recognized that Ms. Grey hasn't eaten the grilled cheese sandwich. Her mind flashbacked to the time when Lillian Grey mentioned the golden rule number 2. Jenna brought the sandwich nearer and said, "Ms. Grey, have this. You haven't eaten your grilled cheese sandwich. Please have it now. At once..."
Jenna's voice was loud enough for Lillian to notice. Lillian turned around and grabbed the sandwich. She went away to the mini-bar in the living room. As she munched the sandwich, the alcohol was poured down the gla.s.s. Lillian poured herself the leftover whiskey. The bar looked weak enough for anyone to sneer at. Almost all of the bottles were empty to make it look some kind of empty bottle storage rack. Well, one shouldn't call it 'The mini-bar' anymore; one that lacked alcohol.
"Look, Jenna, look here. Someone like me shouldn't be in a situation like this. Anything can happen and that's why I asked you to buy me some drinks while coming here. I can't send you out now with all the book release and stuff. But, make sure to fill up the rack by tomorrow. GOT IT?" Lillian made it sound like an order. Jenna agreed politely without any remarks. She doesn't want to let the beast go crazy again. She intended to change the conversation.
"Ms. Grey, do you know what happened today?" Jenna started with a question.
"I was almost on the verge of dying? ..." Lillian's reply made her mad. She was expecting something more of a normal answer. But why bother? this is also difficult for Ms. Grey. It is inbuilt in Ms. Grey's personality. Jenna pretended not to hear that and went on to share the story.
"No, Ms. Grey. I almost made another girl become a fan of 'Craving' food truck. Remember?" Jenna said.
Lillian finished the whiskey which made her calm down from going berserk. She approached the couch in the living room where Jenna was sitting and went back to the spot where she took her nap. Jenna continued the story...
"I was waiting in the line to buy you some food and saw some little girl behind me kept fidgeting around. Right away I could tell that she was puzzled about the food. You know what I did?"
" What did you do?" Lillian obeyed like a puppy.
Jenna completed the story by telling the little girl about the famous grilled sandwich which is used to satisfy even the beast. "But she was too cute, Ms. Grey. Aww...." Jenna can't hide her emotions.
"haha... cute? my kids will be even cuter than that little girl..... you just wait and see Jenna." Lillian replied as she kept staring at the ceiling.
The whiskey brought her back to normal and all of the exhaustion took a toll on her body. Lillian soon went back to sleep again. This time it didn't look like a nap. Jenna carried Lillian to her bedroom and laid her on the bed. Lillian was knocked out. Jenna left the nightstand light on.
She returned downstairs to the living room and cleaned the place. Jenna went to the mini-bar around the corner and checked it. There's no alcohol anymore and the last bottle of whiskey was still out open. It had few drops of content left. Jenna picked the bottle immediately and had those last few drops. Today was tough and rough. Jenna deserves a shot. She removed the empty bottles and collected them in a trash bag. The time went by so fast that neither of them had noticed the book release announcement. Lillian's mobile was in her room and Jenna's was in her handbag.
When all of the work got completed, Jenna took her mobile out and saw the time. It was 6:00 PM. KeyLine Publication's official book release was announced and her books were already displayed in the stores. Jenna got a message from Shane saying 'congratulations on the book'. Jenna felt happy, she made herself some coffee and went to watch TV in the living room while Lillian in her room wasn't awake enough to hear the announcement. But she slept very well. All of the tired, hard work and concentration made her worn out. She slept like a baby. However, all of it was made possible without any hindrance because of Jenna, her editor's co-operation.
