"Lillian Grey"

Diego raised his voice against her. She rested at her feet.

Turning back to see Diego, she replied: "What's up with you, Diego?"

"Are you mad at me for intruding in-between your brutality?" Diego raged bitterly.

He cannot stand watching her mad at him. Also, Diego wanted to know the reason behind her behavior earlier.

Lillian Grey couldn't react, he hit her straight to the point

"YES," she affirmed.

"Why did you do that?" Diego questioned.

Lillian didn't consider to respond to that. She prevailed silence.

However, Diego kept pestering the same question a few more times, only to agitate Lillian.

"Why did you do that to him, Lilly?"

"Do not think that I'll sit down on this?"

"Tell me!"

He insisted on knowing what happened.

Unable to stay calm anymore, Lillian responded.

"He tried to a.s.sault Giselle."

When Lillian said those words, Diego froze.

He had to pinch himself to see that it is not a dream, and what she said was true.

"What?" Diego asked to confirm.

"I said, that b.a.s.t.a.r.d was the one who was trying to **** her on that day."

Lillian raised her voice high.

'On that day?' Diego wondered.

Then he realized that 'The Day' means the day when Bridgette did the broadcast.

It struck him so hard that Mike did such things to Giselle, and yet no one knew about it. But, it also feels weird that Lillian Grey didn't share this piece of information with Diego back then when she visited him.

He digested the harsh truth and still dared his friend.

"And, you think beating him to death will suffice for his actions!"

"YES," Lillian's cold reply irritated Diego.

Not like usual, but at that moment, Diego's emotions were erupting high on fire from every reply he received from Lillian Grey.

"What you did is wrong, Lilly," Diego said it out loud, knowing the way Lillian would backfire.

"Are you saying that I'm the one who's wrong here?" Lillian burst out.

"YES."

"And, may I ask why you think like that?" Lillian insisted.

Diego reciprocated her fury back at her; he didn't like it. Not even a second.

Deep down, he hated her for doing things like this.

"Because I think you don't have the right to do such things."

"It happened to Giselle, and not you!"

"If at all, it should be Giselle who should do it, not you!"

"Did she ask for your help in taking her revenge?" Diego inquired.

His words pierced Lillian as she shook her head in denial.

"She didn't, but that doesn't mean I can't-"

Diego didn't give Lillian a chance to speak as he abruptly canceled before she could complete her statement.

"Who are you to decide that?"

Diego knew what said, and he meant every word of it.

"Who is she to you, Lilly?"

"Is she someone you love?"

"Is she your relative?"

"Are you her guardian?"

"Don't tell me that you guys are best friends!"

"Because I would never accept that, ever in my life."

Diego kept directing his comments against her.

"Watch your mouth, Diego," Lillian warned him.

"I won't and I will say this, right here and right now."

"Who is she to you?"

"Who are you to decide that Mike deserved that?"

"Why are you doing such mean things for Giselle?"

"What are your feelings for her, Lilly?"

Diego stopped.

He cannot continue further. It was stressful for him too.

He let his personal feelings conjure in this interrogation.

"Keep in mind that you can't be friends with Giselle."

"She is different,"

"She loved you,"

"And by doing these, what are you trying to show her?"

"That you acknowledge her feelings for you?"

"It is not your place to think for her and behave."

"Mike is severely injured."

"I had to lie to everyone that he fell on his way back."

"I am not favoring him. What he did is cruel, but that doesn't give YOU that power to judge."

"Remember your place in Giselle's life and come out of this little dreamland you are in, enjoying every day."

Diego said and walked past her furiously.

He didn't wait for a response or a reaction. He utterly left Lillian Grey alone in the trail.

Lillian looked baffled from all the remarks. She couldn't move a muscle and stood there frozen in her spot, probably, more shocked to her core.

The first thing that hit head was whether she would have reacted, the same way for someone else.

'What if it's Anna instead of Giselle?' – Lillian thought.

//You would do the same thing. – Lillian's inner voice roared.//

'No. No.'

'What if it's someone else other than Anna or Giselle?' – Lillian thought.

She found herself helpless to answer that question. Nothing came to her mind. So, if it's someone other than Anna or Giselle, Lillian's reaction wouldn't be the same.

Who knows if she would have a reaction or not!

However, the difference between Anna and Giselle struck Lillian Grey. She couldn't express it as in friends.h.i.+p for both. Anna would fall under the friend's category, but Giselle was uncertain.

Of course, Lillian Grey used the t.i.tle of friends.h.i.+p with Giselle, but right now, her mind wavers in turmoil.

The more Lillian thought profoundly, the more she got worried over Diego's interrogations.

'The way I reacted for Giselle is surely different.'

The thought got cut through Lillian's mind.

Regardless, Mike's behavior in general against the girl was wrong, and anyone would get mad. The same thought got contradicted the next second by herself it kept repeating that the way she went for Mike with a killing intent for the sake of Giselle.

Any question she poses upon herself, it ends with the same answer.

'She treats Giselle differently.'

That stays as the truth firmly on Lillian Grey's mind.

On that note, all the question Diego asked, Lillian Grey, felt as if she, herself needed answers to those questions.

'Who is she to you?'

Giselle's importance in Lillian Grey's life needed testimony.

Lillian whispered to herself before realizing the surroundings.

She was staying away from others for too long, and that might give a suspicion to Seth.

Letting out a heavy sigh, Lillian moved her feet back to the lake area.
