Damon's teasing spree was interrupted when a knocked on the door was heard.

Hestia sighed in relief for being saved from Damon's non-stop teasing, she peeked in the living room to check who the visitor was. She saw Damon standing in front of the open door, she saw him tense up and now she became curious to know who the visitor was to make Damon's jovial mood to turn sour.

"Who are you?" Damon asked arrogantly. Hestia rolled her eyes at how Damon is acting like he lives in their home.

The person outside was surprised to see an intimidating man standing in front of him. He swallowed his imaginary saliva when he felt the oppressing aura coming from the said man. "Is Hestia home?" He almost run away when he saw the murderous glint on the guy's eyes but thankfully he saw Ichigo. "Ichigo!" He squeaked. He felt relieved when the boy saw him and gave him a hug but when he looked up the relief he felt turned to fear. The guy who opened the door was eyeing him dangerously. He felt like a rabbit in front of a wild beast.

"Uncle Dan long time no see! How was your vacation? By the way where is my present?" Ichigo was excited to be with his friendly uncle again but he is most excited about his present.

Dan laughed awkwardly, he can feel the piercing look from the guy beside Ichigo. "I had fun during the vacation. The present for you and your mom is still in my bag, I'll give them to you later." He smiled when he saw Ichigo's giddiness.

"Ahem." Damon's mood was getting worst every pa.s.sing minute. He was not expecting to encounter a rival early in the compet.i.tion and to think that this guy is even close to Ichigo. "Ichi who's your friend?" Damon called Ichigo by his nickname to tell the guy that he's also close to his son.

Dan did not miss how the guy gave emphasis on the word 'friend' and how he spoke Ichigo's nickname endearingly. 'Who exactly is this guy?'

Hestia peeked behind Damon and when she saw her long time friend, she squealed in delight. "Dan! Where's my present!" Hestia was about to hug Dan but was held captive by Damon. He was back hugging her!

"Sweetheart you did not mention that you have a guy friend." Hestia wanted to disappear right at that moment, she is not a big fan of displaying affection in public so being the recipient of said affection is making her embarra.s.s but at the same time happy.

Hestia pinched Damon's arm for acting all lovey dovey, "Dan um.. meet Damon. Damon meet Dan."

Dan raised his right hand for a handshake but Damon did not bother to shake his hand. "Sorry man can't shake your hand, my hands are too busy hugging my wife."

Hestia covered her face while Dan awkwardly lowered his hand. "I never thought you got married during my vacation, congratulations I guess." Dan laughed to cover his embarra.s.sment.

"We are not married!" Hestia hastily corrected her friend.

"But eventually mom and dad will tie the knot!" Ichigo piped in the conversation. He felt happy and proud when Damon patted his head in approval.

"Just like what my son said we are soon going to be a happy family." Damon said with a haughty look. His triumphant smile was mocking Dan and warning him that he can never have a chance with Hestia.

Even though Dan never had any romantic feelings for Hestia he still felt like a loser. Not wanting to be on Damon's bad side he admitted defeat, "nice meeting you brother-in-law take good care of Hestia and Ichigo, well then I'll go ahead and have some rest." From looking at Damon's smug look, Dan faced Hestia and smiled approvingly at her. "I'll drop your presents later." Giving Ichigo a finally hug and nodding his head at Damon, Dan waved goodbye and headed towards his apartment across Hestia's home.
