Alexa walked out of the bathroom, feeling and looking refreshed after a quick shower. As she put her underwear on, she saw her phone on top of her dresser blinking. She picked it up casually and continued with her task with her undies.

With one hand drying her hair, the other held the phone, swiping the screen to check who called her. She looked disinterested at the numbers while continuing drying her hair. She slid her finger on the screen to scroll down the messages and see the caller's names.

"Hmm, Daniel, Andrea, Ria, and what's this? I don't know this number? I wonder?" She contemplated whether she should call the number back. "It' could be necessary, but then... It could be a wrong number or a sc.u.m. What should I do?"

She bit her lower lip while staring at her phone; then it lit up for an incoming call. It's Daniel. She sweetly smiled as she punched the answer b.u.t.ton and sat in front of the vanity.

"What's up? It's too early for you to be calling me. What time in your place?" Alexa cheerfully greeted her brother via video call or facetime. She saw him leaning against a bed headboard.

"Sorry, Sis! I couldn't sleep, and I tried to call Andrea, but she wasn't picking up. Is she there with you?" Daniel asked with a long face.

"Alright! I could do that." Alexa finished drying her hair and was now combing when she remembers Ramon. "Oh! By the way, I need to ask you something. This is regarding Ramon Le Grand. You know who I'm talking about, right?" She asked with eyes widened.

"I do, why? And why are you looking at me like your about to chop my head off?" Daniel teased his sister, knowing what she's about to ask.

"Are you in liberty to tell me why father forbid him to a.s.sociate with me? Also you! For what I understand, you ordered my secret service to make sure he cannot come near me. Is that true?"

At first, Daniel thought about denying everything and lie, but he's too kind-hearted for that, and he loved his sister too much. "Baby sister, it's for your own good. That man is bad news. His mother was in cahoots with my mother doing those evil deeds together. 

"Father and I found about it when we were going to question him with his intentions with you. How could we know that she would blurt out everything without missing anything? She told father all the wrong things they had done to your mother back then. By the way, how is Aunty doing?" "Oh, no! Don't you dare change the subject... Mother is doing just fine, and she's in the other room resting. Continue with your story, and the reason why?" Alexa did not have it, and she wanted to know everything. She would then decide if she should listen to them or not.

Daniel told Alexa everything that Lady Lucy Le Grand told them and the reason for preventing her from a.s.sociating herself with Ramon. 

"So, that's the reason, and you should listen. You also don't want your boyfriend finding out that you're hanging out with him. He might order someone and get him killed. Hahaha!" Daniel teased her once more, but at least, he now had a smile on his face.

"But... that's not fair to Ramon! He did nothing! He had been my friend and confidant when we were young, and he's a childhood friend. Alexa's voice is now getting a little louder than usual, and Chrissy heard it all the way into the living room where she's sitting while looking over some doc.u.ments.

Chrissy got curious and went to check on Alexa and to see who she's arguing with? "Alexa, are you, alright honey! Who are you arguing with? I could hear you all the way out here. May I come in?" She asked, standing outside Alexa's room.

"Oh, s.h.i.+t! It's my mom. She heard my loud mouth and wondering." She told Daniel sheepishly.

"Tell her to come in, and I want to say h.e.l.lo to her. I also want to tattle-tell on you. Hahaha!"

"Whatever! Hold a second; my door is locked." She got up and opened the door to Chrissy.

 "Hi, mom! Sorry! I was a little too loud then." She said, embarra.s.sed. She then handed over the phone to her mother. "Here, Daniel want to say h.e.l.lo to you." Chrissy accepted the phone and walked in. Alexa closed the door behind her. 

"Hi, Daniel! How's your mother?" She faced the phone and asked with obvious concern in her face.

Daniel was taken aback for a moment and unable to reply. He couldn't understand how Chrissy could care about how her mother. Any other person would probably wish that she would die, but not Chrissy. She truly was remarkable; no wonder his father had fallen hard for this woman.

"My mother is still in a coma, and the doctor said that she might stay that way forever," Daniel replied with drooping eyes but smiled to see the woman in his phone screen tried to console him by merely nodding and smiling with understanding in her eyes.

"I'm sorry to hear that. Let's pray that she comes out of the coma and hope for her to recuperate soon, alright!" Chrissy was serious about what she said. She has no hard feelings or hatred for the First Lady.

She had long forgiven her back then before she had the accident. Therefore, she could only wish for her to recover and be with the President's side where she belonged.

Daniel, on the other hand, got curious and decided to ask. "Aunty Chrissy, may I ask you a question?"

"Sure! Go ahead!"

"Do you have any plan on letting the President know who you are? I mean..." Daniel couldn't say the rest of the word that he wanted to ask. However, Chrissy knew what he meant and decided to rea.s.sure him.

"Son, if you are worried if I'm thinking of reuniting with your father...I a.s.sure you that I have no intention whatsoever. Now, about me letting him know who I am, maybe... in due time I will tell him. But not right now. Did I answer your question?" Chrissy was looking at him straight in his eyes.

"Yes! Yes, Aunty Chrissy, you had answered my question." Daniel let out a breath of relief after hearing that. He was worried for nothing. He should have asked her before, but he didn't think it was the right time.

"Well, I should let you go, it's very late there, already. Why are you still up?" Chrissy asked.

"Yea! I was trying to get in touch with my fiancee, but unable too and decided to see if she's with you guys. Alexa had informed me already that she would be there tomorrow. So, I should go to bed and wait for her call then. Talk to you later, Aunt Chrissy. Oh, and tell your daughter that she cannot meet with that guy. Hahaha!"

Daniel was about to slide his finger on the screen to turn off the facetime when suddenly someone grabbed the phone from his hand…

"Is that really you Chrissy?" President Grant's face came into view while his voice shook and ready to crack.

Chrissy was stunned speechless, and she didn't know what to do. When she couldn't think of what to say, she quickly tapped the shut off b.u.t.ton… and stared on a black screen...
