One Night With The Prince 132 A Misunderstanding

Prince Alex had come for a visit to speak with Ms. Garcia, hoping that since Alexa had graduated from College and had become very successful in her career, Ms. Garcia would help him get in touch with her. He needed closure, or he would not be able to function and adequately rule the Kingdom as the people of Stonasia wanted.

Prince Alex became speechless when he heard Alexa's voice. He was rooted to the ground and was unable to move, and he was shocked to the core of his being... When he finally regained his senses and came back to earth, he quickly dashed towards the phone on the top of the kitchen counter and s.n.a.t.c.hed it like a thief.

"Alexa... Alexa... Alexa...!" Was all he could say before tears started running down his face without realizing it had happened.

Ms. Garcia was stunned beyond her imagination. She stared at Prince Alex for a moment and wanted to grab the phone back and say something to Alexa, when... She suddenly heard Alexa's voice speaking back to Prince Alex with sadness in her voice. Instead of her original plan of retrieving the phone, she slowly retreated and stepped out of the kitchen and closed the door to give Prince Alex and Alexa some privacy.

Back in America, Andrea did the same as Ms. Garcia. Once Alexa uttered a word, instead of shutting off the phone, she knew that Alexa needed closure as well. She knew that Alexa had fallen in love with Prince Alex, and probably was still in love up till that moment. Therefore, Andrea decided to give them some time to talk in private, so Alexa could finally have her closure...- and get on with her life.

Alexa conjured half a smile on her beautiful face before she continued. With sadness in her voice, she asked... "How have you been? Happy?" while tears were threatening to fall. Her heart was about to explode, and she was hurting badly just from seeing the face of the man... The one that had been giving her many sleepless nights in the past...

"Can't you tell? Didn't you notice how I madly dashed and s.n.a.t.c.hed the phone from the rightful owner? Hahaha!" Prince Alex laughed as he was trying to make fun of himself. However, for some odd reason, it did not sit well with Alexa.

"So, do you have a little one now? I'm sure he/she must be adorable. Princess Angelica is a beautiful girl and you... you...- You know!" Alexa was mumbling all kinds of nonsense questions, but in reality, she only wanted to find out if they had, in fact, gotten married.

"Angelica? What does that girl have to do with me? And no, I have no little one yet, since the mother-to-be of my child is still busy with her career." He said it with such endearment that it was breaking Alexa's heart more and more.

'So, he didn't marry Princess Angelica. Instead, he married a career woman. I guess..., that's the end then. I need to let go and find my own Prince.' Alexa thought to herself while Prince Alex was anxiously waiting for her to say something.

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure it's imperative for you to produce an heir to the throne. Who knows maybe soon, she would realize that career is not as important as you and retire early so you could have your heir." Alexa said casually, trying to sound sincere about what she was saying.

'Why is she talking like it's another person that she's speaking about and not herself?' Prince Alex thought. 'Hmm, maybe she's just nervous and not realize she's speaking that way.'

"Alexa, are you back in America now? or are you in the Philippines?" His heart was hoping she would say, 'no I'm in Stonasia waiting for you.'

"Yes! I have been back here since I graduated from college. But I spent most of my time overseas, mostly in Europe, as a matter of fact, we will be going to the Philippines soon for a fas.h.i.+on show. That's why I was speaking with my Manager to get all the details." Alexa just kept on talking and talking, hoping they would never hang up and stay that way forever.

"I see! Well, I wouldn't want to keep you then. I'm sorry that I interrupted your conversation. Let me go and give the phone back to Ms. Garcia then." Prince Alex replied apologetically while he began to walk towards where Ms. Garcia might be. While he was walking, he only kept on looking at Alexa's beautiful face on the screen while in deep thought of how he would say his goodbyes?

"Alexa, take care of yourself, alright?! I pray that you achieve all your dreams. And..., and live a happy life while you're at it. You promise?" That's all he could think of saying to leave the conversation on a good note. Unknown to him that every word he said was like a knife that was slicing Alexa's heart, piece by piece...

Alexa was speechless for a moment after hearing the closure that she's been wanting to listen for a long time... Now that she finally understood it... Why did she feel like she's dying...?

Prince Alex didn't have to go far, for Ms. Garcia was right outside the door and heard every bit of their conversation. She was about to tell the two that they are idiots and not communicating properly, but then she thought about Alexa needing to concentrate on her next step... Into becoming the future beauty queen.

Therefore, Ms. Garcia decided to let it go and only accepted the phone that Prince Alex was reluctant to hand over. While thinking to herself, 'someday, when she finally achieves her longtime dream, then I would let her know the truth... But not now!'

She accepted the phone from Prince Alex and thanked him in return, before turning her attention back to Alexa, who looked like she was about to cry. Ms. Garcia knew that Alexa was only holding the tears back, afraid that Prince Alex would see through her.

"Sweetie, why don't we end it here for now. I'll call you later for more details. Let me see Prince Alex out first, alright?" Ms. Garcia then quickly slide her fingers to turn off the phone without waiting for Alexa's reply.

"Prince Alex, what can I do for you?" Ms. Garcia asked sternly after hanging up with Alexa...
