[The stairways lead to heaven. Just kidding]
The broad stairway lead to multiple paths to different sections of a gothic structure with protuberant spires, gleaming with a holy, churchy taste. Students in casual clothing held books under the asymmetrical structures that looped over their heads, laughing as they pa.s.sed by the clean, modernised windows panels where the trees lined up orderly outside, providing cooling shades as specks of sunlight seeped through the leaves.
It was youthful. It was dreamy. It was lively.
"Ding——" The school bell rang, its clean whistle sweeping over BeiLing school.
"Atlas. I'll be heading towards my cla.s.s. You'll be heading that way to report for first day of school. The middle route. It'll lead you to the princ.i.p.al's office. See you later." Kristine smiled warmly before heading for her cla.s.s. Her white dress flapped mildly from the balmy wind.
His heart skipped a beat. He felt so pleasant and relaxed. His rank inched up a bit once again. It was slightly more than three quarters full. The barrier blocking the path seemed to be more transparent, adding a mysterious haze to the spark of light that awaits.
"You are Mr.Bob I see?" With a welcoming tone, a friendly old woman invited Atlas in, reading the doc.u.ments Kane has previously prepared.
[What kind of name is Bob?] Atlas nodded on the outside, muttering in the inside. [Even a casual name like John is fine.]
"According to these information, you are a master of many languages!"
[What kind of non-sense is this?] Atlas cursed. [Luckily I've got alota tricks up my sleeves, or else this would have embarra.s.sed me]
"Ja in der tat." (Yes indeed)
"Oh my! Very fluent German."
"Molte Grazie. Sei molto gentile." (Thank you. You are very kind) Atlas unleashed his talent in languages, leaving a very good impression.
"That's astounding Italian! One very sweet boy you are. You can go ahead now, your cla.s.s, 08, is on the left side."
"谢谢Xiexie!" Atlas thanked her politely as he closed the door gently. These small details determine the ident.i.ty a true gentleman. Atlas clearly aced them all.
04... 05... 06... 07 and 08. Kristine sat attentively in the front row, scribbling down notes on her textbook. He knocked the door.
"Excuse me, I'm a new student."
"Welcome. Please introduce yourself." A forty-ish male teacher greeted him.
"Good morning fellow schoolmates. I'm Bob."
[My G.o.d. It sounds so stupid just saying my name.]
"He's so handsome. Such a chick magnet!"
"I love his husky voice."
"I know right. He must be a great singer."
The girls in the cla.s.s hyped up, their soft chattering sounded like music to his ears. [That went a lot better than I imagined.]
[Isn't that the piece of sh*t who stole my girl? He's gonna pay for that.] Speaking to the boys around him, an arrogant young man with a blue mohawk hairstyle on the last row ground his teeth. "Boys. Gather up after school. We'll teach the new kid a lesson, just like we always do."
"School is over. Remember to read chapter 20 and hand in a review by tomorrow." As the school bell rang, Atlas woke up from meditating. "When did school finish so early?"
Kristine placed her pencil case in her sling bag. "It's not early. It's like 4 o'clock already. Are you ready to go shopping with me?"
"Of course I am."
As they reached the parking lot, Atlas sighed at the sight of a young man and his gang. "Do you know who they are? One of them stalked us this morning."
"Stupid Bob and his followers." She said with detest. Noticing Atlas's heartbroken expression, she chuckled. "Not you dummy. He's called Bob."
"New kid get over here!" Atlas sauntered over.
"Let me tell you four rules we've set in this school. Firstly, no one disobeys my orders. Secondly, no one gets close to my girls. Thirdly, no one can have the same name as I. Do you know the previous kid named Bob? Yeah, no one knows. He got expelled. All of you are less superior." Bob attempted to place his arm on Atlas's shoulder, but the height difference forced him to tiptoe.
"I've got a few things to say as well. First off, that's three rules not four. So you failed math. Secondly, the word you should be using, is inferior. So you failed English too."
Kristine giggled, making Bob want to punch Atlas in the face.
"Thirdly, if there's going to be a superior Bob, it'll have to be me." Atlas grabbed his hand and suplexed him over his shoulder.
"Ow! Beat him up." The gang stepped forward, pouncing towards Atlas.
"Please don't go too hard."
"No worries." Bob brushed the dirt off his suit. "I will call them off if I have to."
"I'm not referring to you."
Bob heard screams behind him. Atlas punched the first charging student lightly, and the student started rolling on the ground crying. [This is easier than I thought.]
He encroached the next two students, low sweeping them off their balance. [Just like stealing candy from a baby.]
Bob watched Atlas's lighting fast movement. It reminded him of his family's Warriors in action, but just way more faster and smoother.
"Let's go Kristine. And bye-bye b.o.o.b!" Atlas offered his arm and Kristine took it. They left the school in a purple flash, a group of students moaning in agony on the ground.
So this is school life huh? Very interesting.
"Which shopping district are we heading to boss?" Atlas clicked open the GPS.
"Wanda district. And please call me Vanellope. I don't like being called boss." Kristine played with her fingers, as if she has discovered a new toy.
[Vanellope?] A name of a sect popped out from the top of his head, but he immediately disbanded that thought. "Ok Vanellope. Buckle your seatbelt. It's gonna be another fun ride."
"Beep— Beep— Beep—" The sound of cars honking reigned the sky. Kristine sat in the car, praying in relief. "Thank G.o.d for traffic."
