Xiao Jun clenched her hands around her dress as she bit her lip, the pain in her stomach becoming unbearable.

Leaning her head onto Yue's shoulder, Xiao Jun sighed as she forced herself to stay awake. Finding a small home, Yun Long stopped and had Yue Qi go knock.

"What is it at this hour?" an elderly voice exclaimed, it was an elderly woman. She opened the door and stared at Yue Qi.

Yue Qi cupped his hands and bowed slightly in courtesy before saying, "Do you happen to know of any doctor near here? Our Madam is in need of a medical help right now."

The woman's eyes opened wider and she quickly said, "Quick, bring your Madam in. I am a doctor and so is my husband."

Yun Long carried a pale faced Xiao Jun inside with Yue following as Yue Qi stayed outside with Mei'er.

Inside, the woman examined Xiao Jun and clicked her tongue while shaking her head.

"I will try to help as much as I can. It is up to the heavens whether this child is meant to be or not."

Xiao Jun shut her eyes as a tear ran down, "I'm sorry..Yun Long.."

A screen was set up and Yun Long was holding her hand while shaking his head, "Shh, don't say anything. We don't know if our child will be alright."

Yue Qi held Mei'er outside as she silently cried, she blamed herself for letting Xiao Jun be kidnapped that day. If she had just stayed longer during the night like she wanted to, this wouldn't have happened.

"It's not your fault, you had no idea that was going to happen." Yue Qi said, caressing the girl's hair.

An hour later, Yue Qi heard the relieved sigh from Yun Long inside and Yue walked out, "Madam is alright, so is the child."

Smiling in relief, Yue Qi hugged Mei'er and then kissed her cheek, causing her to blush furiously before she let out a little laugh.

The elderly woman walked out, "I have some extra room in the connected house, go ahead and settle yourselves in there and feel free to start a fire for warmth. Your madam is already over there." she smiled. Yue Qi thanked her and then entered the small connected house with Mei'er.

Seeing a room lit with candles, Mei'er ran in and kneeled next to Xiao Jun, "Big Sister, I'm sorry. If I had stayed with you longer, this would've never happened."

Xiao Jun gave a smile and held the girl's hand, giving it a light squeeze. "It's alright, stop blaming yourself. Go and keep Yue Qi company, you haven't seen him in a long time."

Nodding, Mei'er left the room and went to another room where Yue Qi was sitting, he had taken off his armor and clothes, leaving himself in just in his undergarments.

Blus.h.i.+ng, Mei'er covered her mouth as she accidentally made a sound, alerting him. Yue Qi looked over and his eyes widened, "M-Mei'er!" Grabbing his robe, he put it on and chased after a blus.h.i.+ng Mei'er who had ran out.

In a room of her own, Yue laughed when she heard the young couple.

In the hallway, Yue Qi grabbed Mei'er by the wrist, stopping her. "Mei'er, I didn't know you liked to watch men undress." He teased.

Mei'er turned around and pointed a finger to herself, "Me? Watch men undress? Do I look that shameless to you?" she pouted.

Yue Qi smiled and then hugged her while gazing at the winter moon. It was currently the 12th month and winter was just at its peak.

"You two! Come and sleep, it's so late!" Yue exclaimed, she walked out and scolded the two, dragging Mei'er away to sleep in the same room as her. Yue Qi laughed and then went along to sleep in his room.

The next morning, Yun Long woke up next to Xiao Jun, smiling, he gently rubbed her stomach while he then kissed her cheek.

Stirring awake, Xiao Jun looked at Yun Long for a bit before smiling and touching his cheek gently, "I didn't think you'd come all this way just to look for me."

"Of course I would, I was told that you were carrying our child as well and I panicked. Hence my coming to find you." Yun Long frowned, Xiao Jun gave a small laugh, "The great general panicked for the first time in his life."

Yun Long chuckled and then kissed her forehead.

As long as she was by his side, Yun Long could feel at peace.
