Weeks had pa.s.sed and every time the servants came back without an answer, the Old General Huo threw a fit and kicked them all out.

"Useless servants! What use are you if you can't even find my daughter-in-law and grandchild! Scram!"

The sound of porcelain breaking sounded throughout the room as a servant ran out in fear of getting beaten to death but suddenly, they b.u.mped into a st.u.r.dy.

"You! You dare get in the General's way?!" a voice yelled, all the servants recognized it as Yue Qi, Yun Long's most trusted aide. Beside him was the General himself.

The servant dropped onto his knees and kowtowed who knows how many times before saying, "General! Lord Huo is upset at the moment and Madam Huo is currently in a depressed state, the Manor has been in an uproar since Madam Feng disappeared."

Yun Long looked at the servant when he heard him mention Xiao Jun. "What did you say? My wife is missing? Why has no one informed me of this?!" he yelled, voice booming as it also attracted the attention of his father.

"Long'er! You're home! You're home!" Lord Huo exclaimed, he ran outside and stood in front of his son with a happy expression.

Yun Long had an upset and confused look on his face, "Father, where's Xiao Jun? Why are all the servants fretting so much?"

His father sighed and then sent most of the servants out before going inside his study with Yun Long. Standing with his back towards his son, Lord Huo sighed and then after a while, he turned towards his son and said, "Daughter-in-Law has been kidnapped. It's been over a month at the least since her disappearance."

The room become silent and Yun Long just looked at his father in disbelief, "Is what your saying true? Jun'er has been kidnapped?! Who dares?!" he exclaimed, furious.

Lord Huo looked at his son with a sigh and didn't answer for he had no clue as well.

A figure dressed in a pink dress ran in and she quickly handed something to Yue Qi, "I found something that belongs to Big Sister! On a walk in the city, a bandit-looking man handed us her hairpin and said that Big Sister is alright, he looked to just be a messenger as he also handed us a letter."

Mei'er had tears in her eyes and she was deeply concerned for Xiao Jun and her unborn child, she didn't even know if that child was still alive through all this!

Quickly, Yue Qi handed the letter to Yun Long and watched as he opened the letter and read it, his eyebrows furrowing.

Mei'er,

I have escaped but I do not know if he'll come and get me again. It's cold and damp, but I must pull through for the little soul blossoming inside me and I must find my way home. I will be home soon, please don't alert Yun Long.

To the side, Yue Qi held the crying Mei'er and rubbed her back to soothe her, his actions not being seen as strange as everyone knew that Mei'er and Yue Qi were already engaged.

"I will go search for her personally. Yue Qi! Ready my horse!" Yun Long exclaimed, he looked at Mei'er again, "Go and have Yue pack some clothing for Xiao Jun when we find her. You may come along as well."

Mei'er nodded and wiped her tears while running out to inform Yue.

When everything was prepared, the group rode on horses while taking a carriage with Mei'er in it.
