"Good morning." She said in English.
Su Jin Wei couldn't help it, he reached out a hand and caught a lock of her hair.
"You remembered?"
Modesty didn't know what Su Jin Wei was talking about, but she did like the way he was touching her hair. She liked everything about him, since dinner last night. He was charming, funny, very intelligent, even though he could become very reserved with those around him. Even speaking in one-word sentences to everyone but her.
"I'm sorry, remembered what?"
Su Jin Wei frowned a little.
"Your promise to wear the hair clip I gave you for your fourteenth birthday."
Modesty froze and had to force herself not to subconsciously touch the clip. She had a dream about a faceless person giving her the clip but she could never imagine that Su Jin Wei was that person.
"I had a dream about a faceless person giving me this clip. It was always a happy dream, I would hug the person and tell them that I would never take it off. That I would wear it forever, I always thought it was just my young imagination dreaming of my prince charming. Thank you for letting me know that it was a memory and not just a made-up dream."
Tears started to form in her eyes, but she refused to let them drop. Su Jin Wei continued to caress her hair.
"You're welcome."
Su Jin Wei's heart soared, she had remembered him. Modesty hadn't remembered anyone else, but she remembered him.
