"It's me, Maya!" Virat said softly.
Maya puffed up her cheeks and blew out her warm breath, "Pfft!"
She smacked his forehead, "Hey! I won! Movie tonight!" She snapped at him beaming proudly swinging her legs playfully while he was carrying her.
Virat giggled and said, "I lost to you right on the day I first saw you Maya. This is nothing. I don't mind losing to you every single just to see you happy!"
"Loser!" Maya giggled.
He brought her to the edge of the mountain and set her down. They sat beside each other along the elaborate mountain track just in time for the sun to show up.
But since it was still dark, they couldn't see anything clearly. Maya was slightly disappointed, "Did we come her for nothing Virat?" She asked.
"Nooo my darling! You won't be disappointed. I promise!" Virat said with his low, magnetic voice.
Just as he said that, the sky slowly started gaining its colour. The dark shades of the night began changing into a lighter shade.
From where they were sitting, a panoramic view of the entire A city could be seen.
Maya held her breath. The most antic.i.p.ated moments of their trek were finally here…
Now, the colour change happening in the sky was too certain. They felt like the colours resembled the colours of the rainbow. From hues of blue to yellow to orange to crimson to red. The entire picture was as if it was taken straight out of a fairytale.
Maya almost forgot to breathe. She looked at the sky without batting her eyelids.
From high up on the mountains, they could see the clouds floating like cotton candies moving in shoals towards them. Maya thought that she was literally floating along with those clouds by her side.
The sun got to kiss it's first golden rays on Maya and it instantly blushed red. It brought warmth to Maya's pearly white skin making her smile, a pleasant smile. She winked at the sun playfully and turned towards Virat who was already looking at her.
Her cheeks burned and she began blus.h.i.+ng furiously. She bent her head down and fidgeted her fingers.
"Stay right there! Just one minute Maya!" Virat got up.
Maya blew out her cheeks and turned back to looking at the sunrise. She toyed with a lock of hair as she enjoyed the morning suns.h.i.+ne warming her from within.
What Maya didn't know was, Virat was least bothered about everything happening around. He was only looking at his Maya. Even the sky with a myriad of colors was nothing compared to the myriad of emotions on his Maya's face. All of it happened in a span of five to ten minutes.
While Maya was waiting for Virat to come, she casually glanced towards her right. She saw a bird walking freely. She silently got up and upon closer observation realised that it was a Peac.o.c.k!
The Peac.o.c.k spread it's wings gracefully and walked around proudly.
Maya was too excited to see it. In order to not disturb or scare the bird, she quietly stood and watched from afar.
Virat returned by then. "Maya, what are you doing there come here!"
Maya turned around to see Virat standing there with his hands folded behind his back. She said, "Shh! Come here!"
Virat saw the peac.o.c.k. "Didn't I tell you that if we're lucky we may even spot a bird? See! Here it is!" Virat whispered.
Maya looked at Virat joyously, "I'm so happy Virat! This is obviously the best morning ever!"
Virat didn't answer her but suddenly knelt on his leg beside Maya. His hands which were wrapped behind him, actually had a bunch of red roses.
Maya looked at Virat with bewilderment.
