Ronnie saw Jayne sitting on a chair trying to catch her breath while s.h.i.+rley Symonds and Mrs Jessica Parker were standing next to her with drinks and snacks congratulating her for her excellent performance.

"Jayne?" Ronnie called out.

Jayne sprinted towards Ronnie. He too came forward, bent forward and kissed her giving his everything. Jayne hugged him tightly kissing him back with the same pa.s.sion. Words weren't needed to describe what they felt. He hugged her back even more tightly like he wanted to bury her inside him.

s.h.i.+rley Symonds and Jessica Parker had long left the couple giving them some alone time closing the door behind.

After a long time, Ronnie pulled apart. "Baby, is everything alright?" He asked looking into her eyes.

Jayne refused to let go of him. She once again hugged him burying herself deeper inside his chest.

Ronnie lovingly rubbed his wife's back. "It's alright baby! Do you know how beautiful you looked on stage?" He kissed her head.

Jayne just replied with a "Hmm.." while hugging him tight.

Ronnie began to worry due to her extremely low mood. "Baby, look at me." He pulled away from her.

Jayne's eyes were glistening. She looked at Ronnie and told him about the dress first.

"Luckily, s.h.i.+rley had planned to surprise me with the actual dress on the day of the performance while giving me another similar dress to try out the previous day." Jayne told.

"That's how I got a replacement so soon. All thanks to s.h.i.+rley!" Jayne could only thank s.h.i.+rley for this.

"Baby, even my footwear was tampered. But, somehow I don't know why, I danced barefooted." Jayne wondered.

"Something was wrong with the music ca.s.sette Ron. I didn't know what to do. I was already on stage. Everybody were curiously waiting for my performance. I was so scared. I began singing on a quick reflex. The song was very familiar. It was a last minute cover up. Then when I found you, I got back all the confidence to pull this." Jayne explained everything to Ronnie.

Ronnie's eye darkened on hearing the story. "Did you develop any hostility with anyone after coming here baby?"

"No Ron! Everyone's too good to me. The faculty and my cla.s.smates. They admire me for my dancing skills. I don't know if this was intentional or accidental." Jayne had totally forgot that Katherine Bradford exists since she'd hardly met her once for brief and then she didn't come to the university at all. Even Jayne got busy with her dance practise.

"Okay baby you don't have to worry about this especially since your performance went very well. We'll talk the rest later. You get changed and come back soon. I'll be waiting for you." Ronnie once again hugged his wife and kissed her before he left.

Jayne felt better after talking to Ronnie. 'What would I do without you baby! You are the love of my life, my strength, my everything! Needless to say, how lucky I'm to have you by my side. Enough to make me realise how bad my earlier life without you was.' She sighed inwardly.

As soon as Ronnie went out, Daniel West was waiting for him right at the door. He asked him to investigate into the matter and got back to the auditorium.

At that time, Adam Clive's duet performance was going on. Since it was a contemporary romantic, youthful dance, the crowd watched it without blinking their eyes. It had a lot of intimate movements. 'And you wanted to do this duet performance Jayne?' Ronnie thanked himself  for not allowing Jayne to do this performance whole chiding her in his mind for the first ever time.

Soon, the performance came to an end. The host congratulated the dancers after which a couple of other performance went on.

Very soon they reached the end of the performances. The host got back on stage cheerfully and announced, "Now, for the most awaited event of the night. So my dear friends, it's your time now. Let's see who's the lucky one to dance with our renowned Chief guess Ms Mahira Arora and Mr Ronnie Roy. Can we have the boxes containing the names on stage please?"

The music team was continued to play in the background.

Katherine Bradford was sitting in the last row. 'Finally, it's time to steal the show and earn the spotlight.' She thought to herself and did some last minute touch ups on her face and even dabbed some more lipstick. She pulled down her gown a little more lower revealing her milky white skin and cleavage.

The students in charge of the box carried the box outside the room. Just when they were about to head towards the dias, they were interrupted by Daniel West.
