Phoenix Men's Big Battle XIII part 1

Going back to Wen mansion, this place was unfamiliar to him yet it was the place that he knew all too well. Shen Wenhan was somewhat disappointing.

From today on, he would really be under the same roof with the Wen family. He stood at the garage door and looks at the three-story mansion quietly.

Wen Rus.h.i.+ parked her car. When she was just trying to press the b.u.t.ton for an automatic roll-up door, she caught a glimpse of the expression on his face.

She paused and pretended not to notice his complex mood at the moment. She took Shen Wenhan's hand and naturally pulled him to the inner door leading to the hall. “Hurry up, I'm starving to death.”

Shen Wenhan had no choice but to follow her into the house.

When he returned to his room and took a bath, he changed his clothes and went downstairs, only to find out what was wrong.

The whole house was empty. Even servants weren't here.

Wen Rus.h.i.+ was lying on the sofa in the living room. She looked at him pitifully.

“What about Mama Li?” Shen Wenhan suddenly had a bad feeling.

“…They are on holiday.” Wen Rus.h.i.+ gave him the ‘puppy eyes' look. She added, “Mom and Dad are traveling, and there's n.o.body at home.”

Shen Wenhan was speechless. After a long time of silence, he said quietly, “You can't expect me to cook for you.”

Sadness clouded her features, “I'm hungry.”

“Call Mama Li, or we go out to eat, choose one for yourself.” He couldn't believe it was coincident that everybody suddenly had a holiday at the same time.

If he hadn't come back, would Wen Rus.h.i.+ be such a pampered young miss that he could stand being outside every day?

“Mama Li lives far away. We can't treat the elderly like that.” If Wen Rus.h.i.+ wanted to eat a meal cooked by his husband, how could it be so difficult?

“I'm tired and hungry. I can't walk anymore.” She sniffed and tried to persuade him again.

Shen Wenhan was silent for a long time before he said, “I seem to have forgotten to tell you that my parents never let me in the kitchen for once.”

Hoping that their children would have a bright future, coupled with the concept of preferring sons to daughters. All these had already become deeply ingrained in Mother Shen and Father Shen. The precious sons of Shen household hadn't really bothered with housework.

Wen Rus.h.i.+ was confused. She had fantasized about this man wearing an ap.r.o.n and cooking stir-fried dishes. Seemed like her delusion was shot straight down by his words. What should she feel about this?

Did she really have to go into a battle with a pan and a shovel? She didn't want to. Father Wen was now a master asks only others to do, but without himself. (TL: only directs others, but doesn't do anything.) All kinds of small and big affairs were falling into her hands. It's usually alright. But in order to accompany him for half a day, she has been working very hard for several days. She was really tired.

She tried to weep but failed to shed a tear. If she knew it, she wouldn't call Mama Li away. What kind of two people's world did she live in? (TL: the world of husband and wife/ married life.) Spending more time bonding feeling? You had to eat enough to do it!

Looking at the expression on her face, Shen Wenhan sighed in the end. He rolled up his sleeves and went to the kitchen, “I will make noodles. I hope that it won't overboil this time.”

Wen Rus.h.i.+ collapsed on the sofa not caring about her image. Brother, how can you cook it to overboil? That's such a foolish mistake considered it was only noodles.

She sat on the sofa for a while and listened to the noise in the kitchen. In the end, she felt worried about it, so she got up then went to the kitchen.

When she saw a messy table, Wen Rus.h.i.+ couldn't help but grin. She was considered to be a talented person who could make a Manhan Quanxi with ordinary family life. (TL: Manhan Quanxi was one grandest meal ever doc.u.mented in Chinese cuisine consisted of at least 108 dishes.)

Glancing at the woman who was leaning against the door frame, Shen Wenhan blushed and turned to push her out.

Wen Rus.h.i.+ hurriedly grabbed his hand not knowing whether to laugh or cry, “I won't laugh at you. I just want to stand here and look at how you cook.” If she didn't intervene, the tragedy of clearing up the mess would fall on her.

She would rather cook than do such a thing.

Shen Wenhan clenched his teeth. Did she know just by looking at his face? He wished n.o.body knew such a shameful thing.

He pushed her out of the kitchen. Shen Wenhan proudly faced Wen Rus.h.i.+ before locking the kitchen's door. Wanting to see what he's doing? Not a chance!

“Hey, I can help you too.” She hadn't had the time to say this one sentence. She opened her mouth while silently scratching the wall.

She would never think of anything romantic again. Wasn't it only about pus.h.i.+ng people to the brink of despair!?

More than an hour later, Shen Wenhan finally came out with two bowls of noodles. He set the chopsticks and went to the living room to find that Wen Rus.h.i.+ had fallen asleep on the sofa.

She's not sleeping well. Her eyebrows twisted slightly, and her rosy lips pursed up.

Shen Wenhan slowly sat down beside her and touched her cheek. It seemed like she felt something was touching her. Wen Rus.h.i.+ turned her head away from his touch and murmured something in her sleep.

Shen Wenhan laughed. He wanted to lean down and kiss her, but because the noodles on the table would stick to each other if they weren't hurried. He gently pushed her shoulder and said, “Get up and eat. Don't go to bed hungry.”

Wen Rus.h.i.+ was still in a daze when she opened her eyes to see a handsome face near her. She unconsciously put her arm around his neck and softly said, “Husband.”
