Mo Kai is a very handsome one. In fact, he is the dream boy of many girls in the capital city. How they want to win a chance to talk to him closely. If they knew that Bai Yao’ s comment on him, they would be envious.

Bai Yao’s father respected Mo Kai, but he felt awkward with their relations.h.i.+p. In the capital city, everybody knew the family Bai, and Bai Yao had made an appointment with the Prince. If anyone saw her playing with the Second Prince on the street, it was not good for her reputation.

But he couldn’t say anything to Mo Kai. After sending him away, he led Bai Yao into his study.

Bai Yao was also confused. She never saw her father talk to her with such a hard att.i.tude. Though she read many books when she was a kid, her father brought her books to her room. She had never gone to her father’s study yet.

The father turned to close the door of the study, then went to Bai Yao with and said seriously, “Bai Yao, you already have an engagement, and it is with the Prince.”

Bai Yao still didn’t understand. “Dad, I know this, but I did nothing to humiliate my family or the royal family.”

The father frowned. “Then why does Mo Kai come to see you so frequently these days? Why do you like to go out with him? Anyway, the one who comes to see you should be the Prince.”

Bai Yao finally understood his ideas, that her father was afraid she and Mo Kai’s relations.h.i.+p was not simple. She went to his chair and sat down casually. “Dad, take it easy. I always remember the engagement with the Prince.” However, Bai Yao’s heart gave her a strong resistance when she heard herself saying the engagement with the Prince. Her tone turned cold. “I won’t forget my whole life.”

She was so surprised why she spoke this.

The father went to the chair opposite to hers, and spoke to her. “You should be careful, Yao. Don’t make the royal family or our family lose dignity. Anyway, so many people want to make use of this, and if they spread out gossip to frame us, it is not easy to deal with.”

Bai Yao nodded. “Dad, I know, I will be careful enough.”

The father smiled with satisfaction. “I know you are a good girl.”

Bai Yao lifted up and said goodbye to him. “Then I am leaving, Father. Take good care.”

“Just go. I have worried about you a whole day.”

Bai Yao gave him a flattering smile and left.

Seeing their father take Bai Yao into the study, Bai Yu came to eavesdrop on them outside the door of the study. But she didn’t find the quarrels she expected; however, the father and her sister’s voices were too low to hear. This made her even more curious about the contents of their conversation. The fondness of her father toward her made her bold.

She heard they mentioned the Prince and the Second Prince, which made her want the details. But she also guessed the main idea of their father. These days, Bai Yao went out with the Second Prince quite often, so this might raise the father’s discontent.

If the Second Prince and Bai Yao had some real progress . . .  Bai Yu was thinking the ways of breaking her sister’s engagement with the Prince.

Bai Yao went out soon without seeming any different. Bai Yu hid behind a big tree, feeling so disappointed. She had thought that the father might restrict her movements, not allowing her to come out. But the result slapped her.

Bai Yu came out from behind the tree, and pretended that she was just pa.s.sing by here.

In the evening, the father sent someone to Bai Yu to ask her go to the hall to talk.

Bai Yu felt grieved that he didn’t call her to the study, which was more private to the father.

When she arrived in the hall, the father made some small talk with her, but in Bai Yu’s eyes, they were only greetings; Father didn’t care about her at all.

The father then went directly to the topic. “Recently, your sister went out with the Second Prince often. You already know that?”

“Yes, Dad.” Bai Yu was acting like a good girl.

“You’d better accompany your sister to hang around in the city during this period, then she has no need to go out with the Second Prince.”

This suggestion totally satisfied Bai Yu’s plan. She had prepared to talk to the father about this, but the old father came to her first.

After leaving her father, she went to Bai Yao’s rooms, and knocked. “Sister, are you already resting?”

Bai Yao was so confused because her sister never came to her bedroom before.

“What’s the matter? Yu?” Bai Yao stood up to open the door for her.

“I just come for one thing. We haven’t went out together since you came back. Why not go with me tomorrow to the tea house to watch a drama?”

Bai Yao was excited by this advice because she hadn’t seen a drama yet. So she agreed quickly. They also chatted about some interesting things in the capital city. Since Bai Yao had no sense of this city, they had many issues to discuss lately.

When the night was deep, Bai Yu asked to leave then.
